Noah could've done so much with this scene. Everything the situation gave him- the influence of alcohol, being emotionally distraught, and feeling incredible guilty over the fate of your boyfriend- was setting him up for a truly emotional performance where he could fluctuate erratically between annoyance, disbelief, and pure anguish. It could've been heartbreaking and beautiful, and that kiss would make more sense.

What do we get instead?

Okay, I thought the same thing! And on New Years, I was angry with Luke, but also with Noah! Noah did the EXACT same thing with Maddie as Luke did with Brian. Luke forgave him for Maddie, but Noah flat-out walked away when he found out about Brian.

I think it was different, as when Noah tried it on with Maddie, it was in the very early stages of their relationship - they have only started dating. Therefore Luke could forgive Noah for making a mistake after everyhing he had just learnt about his father.

However when Luke kissed Brian the boys had been in a committed (albeit non sexual at that point) relationship, so I think the circumstances were different as Noah felt like Luke had been unfaithful.
