I don't think schools should be allowed to teach children about what's right and wrong in regards to religious and political beliefs, etc. However, I don't agree with her in thinking that those things would automatically be taught if marriage equality was granted. I think schools would teach children that we need to respect each other, including those with differing beliefs.

I wrote a paper on this not too long ago, there are two types of marriage. Civil marriage and religious based marriage, which are both recognized under the law. Why you would want to limit a civil marriage? Religious marriages are still held under the discretion of their respective leaders.
Besides, gay rights comes down to the fact that Gay couples are actually the minority of a heterosexual based society. To discount them, is to discount a subgroup for no other reason than their being.

What truth is that in which you're speaking of? Nothing she said was truthful. The ads they're putting up are using actors. She jumped on a naive beauty pagent girl knowing the situation it would put her in to further her agenda of lies. This Maggie is pure scum and should be treated as such. All this money she's spending on denying rights could give health care to millions of children for years. Let's start with priorities first then we'll work on some phony controversy like gay marriage. Sad.

Someone should tell her that Marriage Equality already exists in nations the world-over and NONE of the doomsday prophecies these people chant has come to pass.
Also, these people rarely discuss the LEGAL definition of marriage. If they did, their main points would fall apart, which are usually religious or emotional in basis. They try to sway people with stories that have nothing to do with the marriage debate. See how long she went on about adoption, etc?

If you support equal rights under the law, why do you support NOM? NOM has little interest in the marriage debate. They only use it as a hook for launching a host of anti-gay initiatives. Watch any one of their TV ads; they start by mentioning Marriage but then quickly rattle off topics ranging from government non-discrimination policies to adoption, none of which have anything to do with marriage law. Seriously.
What are these "ramifications"? A nation with Justice and Liberty for ALL?
