They dont make good movies about the Anglo-saxons etc in my opinion. They should make one about Alfred the Great.the Danes came - took over basically every english kingdom, they martyred Edmund of east anglia. they forced alfred and his army into the somerset marshes. he rallied and drove them out of wessex. they could dramatise all the crazy pagan danish kings, some of whom were fuckin brutal. and its basically the story of the begnining of england as a unified country.

It's only the intro movie, the actual game is a strategy game played somewhat similar to the Total War series (Real Time battles)

lol ok then, I guess it does kill the depressing atmosphere, but I think it makes the trailer MORE heroic... perhaps a tale of this Priest's adventures, as the chronicler (ugh don't ask me to spell that right)narrates for Conan.

I can see your point but I disagree with it :)

To understand my point of view look at "Saving Private Ryan" opening sequence: Will adding "heroic" music to it enhance the effect? I don't think so. It would make it "just another war movie". Lack of music usually makes things more "down to earth" and thus more dramatic in the intimate kind of way.

ah but this music gives the whole sequence the feeling it has come straight from a legend... like old legends such as Beowulf, it isn't fussed by such issues as being 'down to earth', it's about a hero winning the day and being mighty. Today's society is 'deeper' and prefers their characters and stories to have more depth. As you have demonstrated.

The music improved it but it didnt need music to get through to people how horrible it was, it was more detailed than any other movie scene.
