I'm reminded by this clip of Mrs movie Ip when she scolded her husband: If you don't attack all the things in the house will be broken'. Good advice in chi sao that didn't come from movie Ip Man himself. Mr movie Ip, really was 'henpecked', but in a wise manner.
Yeah nice, always enjoy watching Mr Bayer. I think I understand that we could interpret the comment about the switzerland incident either way. I don't buy into the 'poor newbie' or 'bad sifu' jibber jabber, It was a pretty ordinary thing that got blown up out of all proportion. Who hasn't been poked in the face or gotten a tap when rolling with a equal or better? I have and still do and it does no harm whatsoever except reinforce my learning and attitude.
The thing is not even that GL gets poked in the face. Look at his horrible footwork. Look how he walks like a duck, always changing the front foot and losing balance. That's just not how you move in ving tsun. Also the other guy is very young compared to GL and he should have so much more experience that the other guy really shouldn't get any hit on him. Compare this to PHB. His footwork is far superior. Also I have never seen anyone giving PHB much trouble. He is just sooo good.
You all have to realize that what these two tried to do to Lam, Gary Lam would never allow in his own school. I used to beg him to let me go on a little tour. There is a really pretty neon Wing Chun sign (in a city that shall go nameless) that I always thought would look good in my living room.
Anyhow, There is not a single person who is in a position to judge Sifu Lam's actions. You should know that if you have done any Wing Chun. Lam could have creamed the guy simply by amping the distance but did not do so because he is a gentleman. Anyone that has ever been held by the head while Lam pummels you knows that it is a very valuable lesson. One that I would not have taken the trouble to give as I have less patience with those that do not deserve it.
Moreover your GRANDMASTER uses Chi Sao to punish a newbee?? Chi Sao is to train attributes and techniques it is not used for fighting..briefly from whereever u look at the video it is a shame for Wing Chun.We have been ridiculed by contact fighting systems already and such shity videos makes us look like clowns..I will come to Rome and knock your door kid.But not to beat you up ,to show you how we do it.I understand your feelings u love your master but stay away from anybody GRANDMASTER
@nedretkilic Why are criticizing Gary Lam for? He was disrespected at a seminar from someone who was clearly looking for a fight but didn't ask for a challenge match. Gary didn't follow through because he's not asshole. He is Bayer's dai sihing for Christ sakes, show some respect.

@papertiger7 and the wing chun I saw there has nothing to do with WSL VT.I have no grudge against Lam on the contrary I find some of his ideas interesting.I did not want to be so open about his specific actions in taht video but some of his guys pushed me to do it.I am going to delete these sentences that I wrote about him because I do not want to hurt their feelings.But they must be tolerant to critics otherwise they will face more reality talk.

Respecting the criticism,and not to provocate further is much more amicable.

Why do you feel ashamed after seeing the video in Switzerland? There's absolutely nothing wrong there. The guy disrespected a demonstration attempt and attacked Gary right of the bat,and got what he deserved later on. Everyone can get hit,even Gary Lam,even Phillip Bayer,and they are probably the greatest of Wong's students. Dont ever be ashamed in the name of Ving Tsun! That video serves to discredit Gary Lam,and it failed. Everyone who understands Wing Chun as a system knows it.
