Global warming is the biggest joke ever... funny, wasn't it supposed to be around this time that all the "experts" said our coastlines would be flooding and everybody would be drowning? Water level hasn't risen a bit, the average annual temperature hasn't gone up this year, and a 10 minute drive outside my city I see trees fucking gallore. Cow flatulence is a major source of global warming these days!

I am burning 120 lbs of coal per day to heat my house. WHY? because it is COLD OUTSIDE! I have a Babington Burner to heat my shop that runs on WVO (waste vegetable oil). So one kind of evens out the other, right?

I have nothing against the environment, greenpeace is barking up the wrong tree in every issue they try to stand up for. Global warming is bullshit, we have more trees than ever before, and the tar sands are a sustainable industry.

global warming isn't bullshit trust me man. If you do some research or even look at satellite images of the amazon you'll see trees are being cut down by the thousands every day. Ice caps are melting very fast I've studied these things for the past few years. Trust me it's NOT POLITICALLY MOTIVATED. Scientists and environmentalists are just looking out for future generations of people and endangered species. Do a little research. If you refuse then there's nothing more to say.

If global warming's real then how come the earth has cooled almost a full degree since "an inconvenient truth" was filmed and is still cooling? The images you see on tv of ice falling off glaciers is called calving and it happens when the ice grows out too far and the glacier can't support the extra weight. Look up a group called greenspirit, it was created by the cofounder of greenpeace when greenpeace was hijacked by an anti corporate movement. They focus on REAL environmental issues.

Oh boy, haha you are misinformed. The earth hasn't cooled almost a full degree. Now I know I may sound like im trying to come off arrogant, but I;m not. My understanding is that the 10 hottest overall earth temps have been since 1995. I believe 2005 was the hottest on record...going back over a century. Lately southern Texas has seen its worst drought and heatwave since anyone can remember. Cattle have been dying because crops are being scorched from the heat and there is little food.

I have extensive education in oceanography so let me explain my belief as to why the climatic patterns have seen small shifts in the past few years. You may have noticed that the Northern United States has been rather cool this summer. The reason for that is Canadian cold fronts have been pushed slightly south because of changing ocean currents. Ocean currents govern how climate and weather patterns behave. Currents are created because of a conveyor belt phenomenon as a result of density dif

...density differences between deep cold fresh water(north atlantic deep water and antartic bottom water) and shallow saltier warmer water. As more fresh water is being added to the ocean from glacial melt, currents like the canary on the coast of Africa and the Gulf stream are lessening in their activity, or at least they will lessen. The Gulf stream therefore brings less warm air and water from the south to areas in the north like where I'm from.  That is essentially the basics.

@quuaa1 For someone who has supposedly been studying these issues for years, it's a shame you're so ignorant to factors such as the SUN'S heating and cooling phases, and the fact that the ice caps are (by inches) melting, is a result of the last ice age's passing, you see the same process every spring when winter snow melts.
