Exactly, the Dutch law doesn't say you aren't allowed to eat halal meat. People have the right to eat what they want and act out what they believe (as long as it doesn't go against the laws). Since Sweden has always banned slaughter not involving stunning Swedish Muslims and Jews have adapted to this and many Swedish Muslim organizations consider stunning allowed. It's recent immigrants/converts that are putting up the biggest fuss but frankly no one cares about their whining since religion is not a free-call to do whatever you want in a secular state.

Actually, one can't say there is NO alternative but vegetarianism.
There is NO religious ban on eating fish. Only shell fish.and certain types of deep sea fish are banned.
Frankly, if the Dutch can bring some introduce some amount of compassion for revision of 2000 year old unnecessary methods of slaughtering animals, it would seem to be a kinder and gentler Netherlands, than an oppressive one.

What? In the states a lot of people buy kosher meet as a more human alternative to the regular meat, but I guess that could also speak to the true horrors of the regular meat industry in the US. And also the fact that he forgave the Jews even after they tried to kill him. And he forgave them again when they tried to rally up an army against the Muslims. The only punishment they received was that they were exiled from Medina (which is ONE city). Like I said. Baseless.

Exiled? Nice try.
A big pit was dug in the market place of Medina, and 800 Jews were brought down, chained and manacled, to be beheaded in cold blood. The Prophet himself presided over the massacre. The able-bodied prisoners were brought in companies of five or six, seated in a row on the brink of the pit, and beheaded in a leisurely manner, their bodies being cast into the pit.

Totally biased. If you want a real, unbiased account of Muhammad's life, then read one of the countless biographies that Western, NON-MUSLIM authors have written about him.

Completely wrong. There is no bias there. All educated Muslims know about the Bani Quraiza massacre.
The ceremonial beheading was inaugurated by the prophet himself by cutting the head of the Quraiza chief, Kab Bin Asad, with loud takbirs (Allah u Akbar) to commence the festivity. As blood gushed from the infidel’s throat, men and women shouted Allah u Akbar, and sang songs praising Allah and Mohammad.
