That's incredible, how did u get the render together?, did u brake it into passes or how did u do? How do I do to get my hair rendered on maya software but make it be affected by the shadows of the rest of the objetcts?, show I use "use background" material or how??
Damn, some people are just dickheads (comment on the animation) The animation actually is better than average. The fur and shadowing is insane though. Does 3Delight have a Deep Shadow map feature or something? I'm actually kind of surprised that a 3rd party renderer like that even rendered Maya fur to tell the truth. Did you convert the fur to geometry?
@Imhotep397 Thank you, Adrenaline681 is right, I'm not 100% happy with the animation as I haven't much time to make it perfect. Anyway as for the fur, yes it uses deep shadow and yes, 3Delight can render maya fur without having to convert it to geometry. Actually it renders fur with DOF and motion blur much faster and more faithfully than maya renderer or mental ray.
If I remember well it needed about 3' with 3Delight on an ancient machine (mac PowerPC 2x 2.0 Ghz). If I had to render it with mental ray I would probably need about 5' or more for each frame depending on the settings of course...
@sanikaize Yes, sure as long as it supports hair primitives at render time, but still not as fast as renderman when it comes to DOF and motion blur. Vray though may be much faster on ray tracing calculations like GI and area lights.
very realistic
