  • I think millions of pet owners are being deceived by pet food companies that they trust. It's unfortunate. I rather make my own food so I know what is being put in it. I was scared of the raw diet at first, but I only keep hearing great things about it!

  • They want you to be afraid. Keep in mind that salmonella and e. coli are not "natural" to raw meat - they are introduced as contaminants either during the raising of meat animals (salmonella) or during processing (e. coli from piercing the bowel). Both practices are easily avoidable. It is less expensive for these industries to scare you into killing their contaminants by extreme cooking. See the documentary, Food, Inc. You may never eat non-organic again.

  • Great video, except for one glaring problem...corn isn't good for cows, either. Cows evolved to eat grass, not corn. Corn fattens them up faster, sure, but it acidifies their rumen and makes them sick.

Bottom line, all creatures should eat the diets they evolved to eat, not the diets that make industrial food production economies grow faster.

  • You are right about that. We used corn in the video because it, like wheat and rice, is a common filler in commercial cat food. It was more instantly recognizable. But cattle should be eating specie-appropriate food, too. Neither animal is being fed a nutritionally sound diet because of human priorities. Thanks for making this important point.
