  • This is in fact, Elvis.

The recording seems to be slowed down a bit.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • It sounds so different from the Stax-version I've heard before... So very different I too am doubting it's legitimacy - please notice I'm doubting it, I have no way of knowing for sure

  • elvis depended on anyone he could! that cheating rapist

  • not elvis

  • Elvis was dependent on quality songwriters and good backing musicians.

  • ok,so if this is really the king, what cd or record is this version on?For real? Bet nobody knows.Cause its not him.Bet that this is the only copy and they found it at a yardsale.People wanna believe that there are hidden stuff out there,or different versions of songs, truth is,if there was, everyone would have talked about it online and it woulda been a major story.Only rare stuff left, is sittin with his family.God bless Elvis.

  • pourquoi négatif mais c était bien lui le plus grand vous n avez qu a vraiment écouter cette voix hors du communs... ou lors allez écoutez de la mauvaise soupe.

  • One of the greatest "Road" songs of all time.

  • @theoriginalbadbob Written by the great Chuck Berry, that´s why this song is one of the best.

  • @willpn100 It certainly makes ME want to "duck walk" my ass off.

  • Elvis does this in the key of A and this song is in Ab..so its slowed down and its not Shawn Klush. definitely!!

  • Elvis does this in the key of A and this song is in Ab..so its slowed down and its not Shawn Klush. definitely!!

  • No doubt, that's Elvis, no impersonator don't have a voice like that.

  • its the king alright its just at the rong speed

  • it's been slowed down..in the wrong key

  • Theres a guy in columbus ohio who is noted as being one of the best in the world at impersonating elvis. There are lots of really good impersonaters and there are lots of really bad ones out there.I would say he is the most impersonated performer there ever is.I dont believe this is Elvis. The voice is good, but it lacks excitement. If it were Elvis, the voice and music would be pulling you up from that chair. This lacks that.

  • Is it an organ?

  • Es Elvis!! Ni dudarlo!!

  • that def is not elvis in this soundtrack i agree its someone else impersonating him

  • any fool can hear this is the king and its a rare stax mix from 1973.the reel however is played in the wrong tempo so it sounds a bit funny.if u speed the take up a bit so that it fits to the key of a...it sounds more like elvis.chuck berry wrote the song by the way and it a cool one ;)

  • Perhaps I stand corrected then. Although up to this point I haven't seen any live version of the afore mentioed songs aside from attempts to create video of him and dubbing the songs in. However that certainly doesn't mean that he hasn't done it for sure.

  • @asmedious There is a "Live" version of Promised Land (circa 1974) by Elvis on the "Live In Las Vegas" Box Set

  • Correct me if Im wrong but I believe that "Moodie Blue" album was released in 1977 after Elvis died, and he never did "Promised Land," or the song "Moodie Blue," in concert.

  • @asmedious sorry he did do moody blue in concert as well as promised land.moody blue was released spring of 1977 months before elvis died

  • @asmedious moody blue was sung on february 21 1977,

and Promised land he been singing from august 1974 till mid 1975 In concert

moody blue album was released in 77 but elvis recorded the moody blue album in february and october 76

  • @asmedious Elvis is on Youtube getting off of an aeroplane andreceiving a gold disc for Moody Blue in June 77.

Elvis did Promised land many times live and he also did Moody Blue at least 3 times,I have him singing it on a live F.T.D. C.D Feb.77.

  • I'm sure this has been said on here but I can't resist:

"elvis isn't dead, he just went home." :)

  • @MrCopperhead1861 How about? "Elvis isn't dead, he just left the building."

  • The sexiest king ever!

  • First cover of this tune was by Elvis on the single 45.

  • This is Elvis! Elvis chuckles during this version and that is James Burton on guitar. I've never heard this before it's a real treat, I don't know if I like that organ though, I prefer James' guitar to stand out more. Anyone who thinks this is not Elvis needs their ears and head checked, or maybe they should stop listening to impersonators.

  • image rare en concert du king of rock n roll Elvis Presley 1974 avec le peacock suit MERCI !!!

  • This is my favorite version. Nothing quite like a Hammond to complete a mix.

  • I prefer this version. I heard it in a special release back in the early 90s.

  • I like this cut alot. It's like a clean live version. It's precisely worded and you hear the band clearly and the organ sounds great. It is Elvis without a doubt.

  • this not Elvis..sorry

  • @Atomicflash500 this is elvis

  • COOL.never heard this version. many thanx

  • That is Is ELVIS!!!!! I Know him!!!!

  • Hail...Hail...

  • Cool organ - up in this mix. Wish EP did the Berry tribute l.p. which has been written about.

  • the greatest performer ever and all we have are these crappy quality videos?

  • its 100% elvis, no one can capture his sound , they all do kareoke versions. If you cant tell its elvis "you aint no friend of mine"!!!

  • i think his voice is slowed down don't you?

  • that´s no Elvis....

  • It's Elvis' voice, but just a baaaaaaaaaaad music bed!

  • Absolutely Elvis,it's a different mix,the organ is more up front, but this is the mastertake from december 1973 Stax Sessions in Memphis.

  • If you hate elvis, you will hate this track as the voice is quite definitely evlis .. its his vocal cords ,its his signature voice with the slight croak.

  • That's Elvis no doubt.

  • If you cant tell this is Elvis then you are not a true fan. In anything ANYTHING ELVIS has ever sung I can tell if it is him or not. THIS IS ELVIS SINGING NO DOUBT

  • this sounds like Jimmy ellis to me. Listen to Jimmy's version on youtube then tell me whatcha think?

  • check the bootleg cd rare elvis 3 i think.yes this is elvis

  • Sorry dude, but this is indeed Elvis just a different cut then the others on here

  • The vocals are the original cut, but slowed down.

  • I am verrrry skeptical that is Elvis singing. There is a much better version on utube. I just stumbled on this and thought I would give a listen.

  • This IS the original undubbed master (albeit a little slow). If you don't know James Burton's guitar (as well as Elvis' voice) you have no business commenting about this.

  • You dare to call yourself elvis fan?.......

  • Yeah. I am an Elvis fan and this is memorex in Jersey!

  • Than you should hear this is Elvis and it's a rare take!

Don't argue, it has been officialy released. Shawn Klush or somebody else can't even get close......

  • You all need your hearing checked THIS IS NOT the same track as is on shawn klush's site. This IS Elvis' voice. Shawn klush sings sharp, Elvis doesnt!!!!!!!!! I agree this alternate take is a little slowed down.

  • the audio on this track is dragging quite a bit.

that makes the voice sound a little funny.

  • OFF COURSE IS ELVIS!!!

  • sorry guys that not Elvis ....and thats for sure .. if you hear the song well u will understand that its not Elvis.

  • you're right!!!!wasn't ELVIS...was ME!!!!ARE YOU WEED?

  • it's elvis...

  • it definately is the King. It's a remix released on a boot 'Stax tracks'? a few years ago. The track is running a wee bit slow making Elvis sound a little slurred, probably where the doubt is creeping in

  • I don't think this is Elvis either....

  • This is Elvis, i have this song.

this is the released version, jus with the organ dubbed on. have to say though, i prefer some of the alternate takes than the released version

    Ben

  • well i don't !

  • Not only is it Elvis ,it's the same vocal as the released version ! (just the backing is slightly different.)

  • anyone who thinks this is not E.P. is really not a serious fan or they would have the cd that this track is on , those of us who collect the boots and imports know best.

  • I agree, whoever posted this, the person on your track is not Elvis! I actually sounds like Shawn Klush, a very good impersonator. :)

  • You're not right.... It has been released.

It is just beautiful rare material which sounds different (undubbed Mastertake).

  • Uh, I don't think so buddy. That is not Elvis, It IS Shawn Klush. You can go to his myspace and hear the same track. So there.....

  • this is Elvis!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have it on cd

  • me? im a massive fan, that is 100% not Elvis singing, for a start he would never sing to such a rubbish back track like that.

  • Sorry man but this take is recorded at the Stax Studios in Memphis on 1973. It's an undubbed master with an organ! You can definitely hear Elvis sing and you can hear James Burton on guitar! The organ player was Per Erik Hallin a young Swedish Piano player. This song is on the bootleg album: Elvis in the Studio 1973 CD 4... Still not convinced?

  • your damn right man. People are so dumb and dont know how Elvis sounds anymore. cause there not true fans and think any Elvis impersonator sounds like him. Im sorry but Shawn is total trash who thinks hes great and hes not. No ONE EVER will sound like Elvis when he sings BUT ELVIS!

  • @grezz182 if u where a massive fan u would know this is elvis and that this is a overdubbed organ version

  • sorry folkes but this is not elvis Elvis singing

  • ....? Are you a fan?

  • Very good! I really enjoyed watching , thanks for posting!.. Had fav it!

    Linda

  • great video

  • Chuck Berry sung the Original, Dave Edmunds played it very close to Chuck´s version too.

  • Elvis Presley's favorite performance costume, the peacock jumpsuit, that he's wearing here sold for $300,000 in 2008. Elvis paid $10,000 for the jumpsuit designed by Bill Belew.

  • One of my all time favorite Elvis songs! Featured in "Men in Black" too!!

  • Nice remix!

  • Nice footage of The King.
