It sounds so different from the Stax-version I've heard before... So very different I too am doubting it's legitimacy - please notice I'm doubting it, I have no way of knowing for sure
ok,so if this is really the king, what cd or record is this version on?For real? Bet nobody knows.Cause its not him.Bet that this is the only copy and they found it at a yardsale.People wanna believe that there are hidden stuff out there,or different versions of songs, truth is,if there was, everyone would have talked about it online and it woulda been a major story.Only rare stuff left, is sittin with his family.God bless Elvis.

Theres a guy in columbus ohio who is noted as being one of the best in the world at impersonating elvis. There are lots of really good impersonaters and there are lots of really bad ones out there.I would say he is the most impersonated performer there ever is.I dont believe this is Elvis. The voice is good, but it lacks excitement. If it were Elvis, the voice and music would be pulling you up from that chair. This lacks that.
any fool can hear this is the king and its a rare stax mix from 1973.the reel however is played in the wrong tempo so it sounds a bit funny.if u speed the take up a bit so that it fits to the key of a...it sounds more like elvis.chuck berry wrote the song by the way and it a cool one ;)
Perhaps I stand corrected then. Although up to this point I haven't seen any live version of the afore mentioed songs aside from attempts to create video of him and dubbing the songs in. However that certainly doesn't mean that he hasn't done it for sure.
Correct me if Im wrong but I believe that "Moodie Blue" album was released in 1977 after Elvis died, and he never did "Promised Land," or the song "Moodie Blue," in concert.
This is Elvis! Elvis chuckles during this version and that is James Burton on guitar. I've never heard this before it's a real treat, I don't know if I like that organ though, I prefer James' guitar to stand out more. Anyone who thinks this is not Elvis needs their ears and head checked, or maybe they should stop listening to impersonators.
I like this cut alot. It's like a clean live version. It's precisely worded and you hear the band clearly and the organ sounds great. It is Elvis without a doubt.
If you hate elvis, you will hate this track as the voice is quite definitely evlis .. its his vocal cords ,its his signature voice with the slight croak.
If you cant tell this is Elvis then you are not a true fan. In anything ANYTHING ELVIS has ever sung I can tell if it is him or not. THIS IS ELVIS SINGING NO DOUBT
This IS the original undubbed master (albeit a little slow). If you don't know James Burton's guitar (as well as Elvis' voice) you have no business commenting about this.
You all need your hearing checked THIS IS NOT the same track as is on shawn klush's site. This IS Elvis' voice. Shawn klush sings sharp, Elvis doesnt!!!!!!!!! I agree this alternate take is a little slowed down.
it definately is the King. It's a remix released on a boot 'Stax tracks'? a few years ago. The track is running a wee bit slow making Elvis sound a little slurred, probably where the doubt is creeping in
anyone who thinks this is not E.P. is really not a serious fan or they would have the cd that this track is on , those of us who collect the boots and imports know best.
Sorry man but this take is recorded at the Stax Studios in Memphis on 1973. It's an undubbed master with an organ! You can definitely hear Elvis sing and you can hear James Burton on guitar! The organ player was Per Erik Hallin a young Swedish Piano player. This song is on the bootleg album: Elvis in the Studio 1973 CD 4... Still not convinced?
your damn right man. People are so dumb and dont know how Elvis sounds anymore. cause there not true fans and think any Elvis impersonator sounds like him. Im sorry but Shawn is total trash who thinks hes great and hes not. No ONE EVER will sound like Elvis when he sings BUT ELVIS!
Elvis Presley's favorite performance costume, the peacock jumpsuit, that he's wearing here sold for $300,000 in 2008. Elvis paid $10,000 for the jumpsuit designed by Bill Belew.
This is in fact, Elvis.
The recording seems to be slowed down a bit.
