  • FUCKYEAH!!!!AMAZING PLANE AMAZING SONG!!!! ANYTIME BABY!!!!

  • I miss the F-14.....RIP

  • Tomcat Rules

  • Tomcats were the best!!

  • Holy shit! This was great! After those sonic booms that was the exact music I wanted to hear. Thank You and you've just got another sub.

  • é avião mais lindo de todos a lenda f 14

  • If it wasn't for the A10 this would be my favorite plane of all time. People watch Top Gun... I watch the F14 movie.

  • Some clips are from the movie- 'Speed and Angels'. Great documentary on 2 up & coming Tomcat pilot candidates.

  • they said the tom cat was too cool..so they had to let it go =(

  • Went and saw the foo fighters live in concert last night. Sadly no F-14's made an appearance :(

  • Awesome - great stuff - Thanks!

  • the best plane ever .love the tomcat

  • 2 words: freakin awesome

  • Great video!!! Question: Where's the first section of footage from with the girls doing the pre-flight check.

  • Excellent video!!

  • 2:20 ... EPIC

  • @hunt3r972 to me.. 1:59 to 2:01 was more EPIC. Alas I understand you my man!!

  • Only once word about this video and the epic Tomcat.... YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAW!!! 8D

  • That is Super Beautiful video, so Tomcat is!

  • Best Fighter, EVER!

  • Thanks anyway... but I´ve found it... Foo Fighters - No Way Back

  • Name of the song starting at 2:27? Thank you!!!

  • @Navigator228 Foo Fighters - No Way Back

  • @ 4:13 biggest set of balls naval aviation ever saw.

  • I hate the F-18... Not because it's a terrible aircraft, But just because it replaced the single greatest aircraft ever made. The F-14.

  • Can someone tell me the name of the song ? Thanks !

  • top gun

  • Name of the song please ? :D

  • I never thought I would miss the smell of JP-5 and the sound during flight ops on the deck!

  • 3:45 is that you asking the question or was it allready there?

That's condensation of water vapour in air because of the shockwaves on the upper surface of the wing. The shockwaves will appear at speeds lower than speed of sound because the air accelerates as it moves over the upper surface of the wing. So the air flow will locally be supersonic even if the aircraft is moving at way below 1 mach.

It's dependent on angle of attack so they will appear when turning.

  • super sonic is 1.0 mach

  • Starkey, that's the point. The aircraft can go way slower than Mach 1 but the flow around profile can be supersonic locally because flow around airfoil is accelerated.

As a matter of fact the flow around 747 wing is locally supersonic when flaps are deployed for landing, at around only 0.3 Mach.

  • Yea

  • F-14 all day and everday. Screw the decommission. Best fighter in the world. 5/5 bro.

  • At 4:14 HOLY SHIT

  • We should all lobby the U.S. department of the Navy to return the F-14 to carrier service. New Super Tomcats would be cheaper and more capable of performing it's dutiies than the Super Slow Hornet.

  • Yea haha Agreed dude... Super slow haha your not kidding thou... The F/A-18 can only do about 1200 MPH compared to 1450 or 1550 of the Tomcat..

  • @mgrande11 More Capable, Yes. Cheaper, No. I'm not a Fan of the Hornet/Rhino but it is much cheaper to operate than the Tomcat.

  • @mgrande11 hell yeah.

  • @mgrande11 I will definitely agree with you.. I wish that they could just push this into service again with the delays to the F35 and the F22s cancellation. However, what killed this plane was the cost of maintenance. The main reason being boron being used in the structure. My guess is going to be service life extensions of the F18, F15, and F16 as well as the addition of the A-18G.

  • @timsk Your right but they could have built new F-14s with carbon fiber instead of boron. Boron is so small and sharp it can enter the body and be carried by the bloodstream to brain and lungs and cause punctures aka hemmorhaging which is usually fatal in the brain and lungs.

  • @mgrande11 Yes. they can replace the boron parts with c/f, but boron is much stronger than c/f. In addition, c/f has more modes of failure (interlaminar tension, interlaminar shear) which can be predicted with hand or computer analysis but best predicted with a test. You can layer the lamina to create a strong laminate, but it is only as strong as the epoxy holding it together and it is very difficult to predict its failure in fatigue. Perhaps a SLEP can occur, but unlikely atm.

  • @mgrande11 btw, slep = Service life extension program.

Lastly, if there is no existing stress analysis on the airframe, that would imho, seal its fate for a slep.

  • Awsome vid 5 by 5

  • you have the bestest videos ever.

  • FUCKING awesome!!!!!

WTF man! how you made this shit!

this is the most fucking awesome air force video i ever seen!
