My art teacher painted over the masking tape w/ some white substance....sorry I can't remember the name, but when it dried it left a barrier that the paint couldn't cross....we painted it on w/ a paintbrush & it dried quickly....maybe ask an art store for what it was. It left a perfect line when the tape was removed

Tip:
Fold the last piece of tape and stick it to a corner. That way you just have to pull the 'handle' to start the pealing.
And you don't have to come near you painting with that sharp object again.
;^)
Great tutorial. Never thought about using it that way.
