Konami, the company that made this game, wasn't selfish at all. It's just because America does not buy the license and translate it for English speakers

i just don't get it...i think america could earn a lot of money with those games...i mean..there are so many kinds of games, but they don't translate any dating sims...thousands of games like brain jogging where you get bored after some time, but the best games exist only in japan...

but i think if konami produced this game from the biginning in two languages: japanese and english, they could earn even more money because they can export in the whole world or ppl just buy it through the internet

It's the Manaka dream scene! ... Though I'm still profoundly amused by that madman who married Nene, but the game's appeal is very obvious: near-realistic traditional, feminine and (of course) obeident girls that are getting scarce in the real world today. And the Westerners receive the game negatively - proved by the (sometimes hilariously stupid) comments here - simply because the idea of female attractiveness is different there.

Too small a crowd to please towards. Anyways, the demographic they aim at here in the US isn't the intellectuals, or in this case, what people would immediately consider the desperate.

Casual gaming (I.E. Mindless drivel at easy difficulties), Action gamers (Dante's Inferno, God of War) and Patriotics (War games, FPS, over the shoulder third person shooters) are the mainstream in Northern America.

RPGs also has it's place, thankfully having set itself early in gaming. Then there's niche..
