  • Just saying, If this sized church has an ALLEN!?!? No wonder the trumpet overpowers the whole thing.

  • i play for weddings and our church has a pretty long asile and i still play it faster than that because u can use a repeat and it is a pretty long song in the first place

  • mother of the bride stands, as is the custom, and all follow.

  • There is such a thing in this world as a "repeat" if needed it to get the bride all the way down the aisle. At this tempo it sounds like a funeral dirge.

  • okay

  • it doesn't surprise me at all that a big church would have a phony organ. it happens all the time now. no one cares anymore about real pipe organs. and you can hear what you get, can't you. what a racket.

  • Its not to slow for that particular church and setting...and yes...the people stand.

  • it´s played way too slow - and the people should stand up!

  • being someone who has played this at weddings, you do have to play it much slower for an aisle this long. You don't want the bride to fall on her face trying to get up there fast enough, nor do you want her to be embarrassed at the awkward silence of her walking after you've finished playing. So it really has to be just right, you time it beforehand to make sure you've got it down...and that tempo was correct for that particular aisle.

  • arent people suppose to stand to show respect to the bride.

  • yes, they are! uncultured...

  • I'm very surprised that this large church has an Allen and not a pipe organ.

    BMP

  • That's only a 2-manual Allen!?!?!?! I would have guessed a 3 manual pipe or 3-4 manual Allen/Rodgers.

  • amazing!

  • Who was the trumpeter?

    I got goosebumps.

  • Ha! me too.

  • Is this the Basilca of the Immaculate Conception in Waterbury CT looks just like it?

  • This is St John Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine, La. It has AWESOME accoustics, and as late has had many more musical venues there. It's great to see many more people enjoy this beautiful church!

  • This is the music that's going to be played at my wedding in Oct of this year. I can't wait for this to be played when I walk down the aisle on my wedding day! My Fiance has already got teary-eyed when we went to listen to our music-selection with our organist for the ceremony!

  • An amazing piece of music. All I would ask is that congregations do the bride the honour of standing up when she arrives, that brides everywhere walk down the aisle SLOWLY (especially to music like this) and wear something grand to befit the size of the church! :-)

  • I agree too....the congregation/guests SHOULD ALWAYS stand up when the Bride arrives. I thought it was kind of rude to see how they didn't do that.

  • If I'm not mistaken, the bride requested that the congregation remain seated for her entrance. I did a wedding once where the bride requested the same, it's kinda weird but I guess everyone is different.

  • trumpet voluntary

  • what's the name of this song?

  • Sounds so royal-just beautiful. I walked down the aisle to this song and I never grow tired of hearing it.

  • lol played this song for a festival

  • Not a very big crowd...

  • A church this size only has a 2 manual Allen?

  • I'm going to play this song in my band. But I don't play trumpet, I play trombone.

  • you know what would be great....if just once someone chose You can't always get what you want as music for the bridal procession...

  • I'm having this piece as my bridal procession in 6 weeks. Its so beautiful.

  • Such beautiful music and song. I fell in love with that piece the first moment I heard it.

  • i know its an odd question but could anyone give me the height of that room.

  • i tried to looked it up and its about 60ft

  • ok thanks allot for that information

  • I don't like his ornamentation, especially the triplets. Nice sound that fills up the venue, though...

  • This is also know as the prince of Denmark March

  • nicely timed and done!

  • Were you using the zimblestern or was it just the cymbale?

  • This tune was played at my graduation.

  • poor bride... nobody rose for her

  • I've found that Church Congragations are like sheep, if nobody makes a move to stand they will all sit and if one person stands they will all stand!!

  • Beautiful, but why didnt everyone rise when the bride appeared?

  • I don't know why they didn't, but when I was married years ago; circa 1982; I asked the congregation remain seated because I heard God say "This is practice." ANd I wanted Him to have a humble sign from me that I heard Him. Everyone was wondering about that, I didnt really tell them why. That was at the Union Church of Pocantico Hills, Westchester, NY. Now I call it a first level "ringing in ceremony" for for the Ring Lord Grail King. (SIGH))))

  • heh. not a godly person so i'm gonna say youre weird but i understand cause you believed it etc. not bashing just find it interesting. :D

  • Nice job seems a little slow though

  • Its usually not customary for the bride to run down the aisle.

  • OWNED. 8)

  • Skadoosh!

  • loved ur reply!!!! hope u had ur dream wedding!!!

  • I agree w/ you octavegeigen4 it is very slow

  • Although to my ears, there's NOTHING better than a Walker(they only sample AEolian-Skinner organs, mainly G. Donald Harrison era organs)but I must admit that this Allen didn't sound too bad as I've never in 40 years heard a good one. That aside, the performance was excellent! 5 stars for sure!! Very good job and thanks again for sharing.
