thank you this was very informative. not a uprocker myself, but i always wondered about how some people jerk all the way down and some don't. never knew it had something to do with the knees thought it was just a style preference kinda thing.
@MrShmulig ... you should be called MrSchmuck.. have some respect.. this man is tryin' to pass some knowledge to the young ones.. i could tell that this guy was pretty good when he was younger... so.. stop being a schmuck "son".. ..
@MrShmulig why the fuck would u call him son.. when he could be your dad.. anyways, he was probably better than you at ur age.. oh wait ur 10 years old in a basement just trollin.. nvm
@funkman70: I'm feeling you brother. I'm 40 now and my left knee is shot. I'm teaching b-boying at my high school (I'm a teacher) and at a YMCA camp this summer. I gotta keep it going...even if I'm not getting as low.
My Boriqua brother is right because I'm 39 years old & my kness are FUCKED! from all of that droppin to the floor!! We were hyper extending our kness & I didn't feel it then but now!... That was the best part though when you have 20 people or more just droppin at the same time! It's an insane energy which I think most of the new generation is missing out on, I love the air moves but rockin' is a diff't beast all together.
i wish i had someone who passed on me that kind of knowledge..... some bboys like me had to educate by ourselves because of the lack of hip hop culture in my country.......thnx peace!!
It's about time somebody put that into perspective. Queens uprock, although everyone thought so at the time, did not come from Brooklyn. Noel is clearly right when he said he wasn't sure where the other style came from. It came from the Bronx, but was later transformed by Queens, combining freestyle kick dance into it. Glad to see your still uprocking Noel, peace....
