Not misinformed - the survey results reflect the opinions of peope I see every day. Not in denial either. Taiwanese are not hostile to unfication or China at all - they just don't like being forced into something that they have no say in.
Incidentally, they didn't vote the KMT into office for the purpose of unification but for the purpose of improving the economy - or so they thought. But the president currently has popularity rating of less than 30%.
