I agree, "interpretation of Sanghyang Dedari" would be a lot better. Or "re-creation". I'd give anything to be present at a real one. Like being at Corpus Christi - the divinities themselves are present.

i have seen this dance, it's in ubud behind a restaurant, i think the name was lotus temple or something. my friends are living a cross the street in puri mas menara

It is so sad that the Balinese now use sacred ritualistic dances for tourist. It is even worse when they fake the trance. The real Sang Hyang Dedari is so eerie and more interesting of course. The title of the dance should be "interpretation of Sang Hyang Dedari".

Umm... I don't know how to feel either. I am actually happy that the richness of our art and culture has become very available for the rest of the world to admire. But Sanghyang Dedari is a sacred dance.... I agree with you, it should have been named "an intrepretation of Sanghyang Dedari".
