  • Dolly! It's still not too late for Playboy (maybe too late for Hustler though).. :p

  • Dolly has such a great voice!

  • it's true dolly wrote this song, and she has a wonderfull voice, but i really think whitney can sing better! whitney houston has the most beautiful powerful voice i ever heard!

  • @SuperSilkeee *had, Whitney can't sing a note like she used to. I like both versions, of course the old Whitney could outsing anyone

  • @patricklapietra yes, that's true, whitney can't sing anymore like she used to.

  • @SuperSilkeee dolly parton was and still is the best female singer on the planet.

  • @SuperSilkeee had she cant even do a concert all were cancelled as shes lost it thru her drug problems

  • I completely agree. Country is country, what the hell is whitney doing?????Making money Iguess

  • Dolly is a very generous and beautiful woman that never forgot where she came from. Seeing her here with Porter is touching.

  • shes scary..

  • This was Porter's last appreance.. you can tell he's sick there..The cancer caught with him & he's tryng not to show how much pain he's in with the cancer...

But, he had a good run...RIP, Porter!

  • I don't hate the remakes i just hate the idea that no one gives credit to who really wrote it. i just educated a 22 y/o German girl Friday she actually likes Dolly's version better.

  • @Waschbear69

You know that Dolly wrote this song right? Not being picky but i wanted to point it out.

  • @SnowGlowingShadow yup, thats what i meant by educating a young German lady. I told her the history about it, and she was stunned. "I thought Whitney wrote that." I was like, no.

  • Oh, i misunderstood your statement. However it must be very embarrassing for her now, finding out the truth. XD

  • I normally hate country music but i LOVE Dolly, only her

  • What the hell do you mean Whitney's version??? Dolly WROTE this song, she wrote it for Porter (her mentor in early days) No one can touch Dolly for heart and beauty of this song, It's HER song!!!

  • @Moonchalice you are so right, this is dolly`s song and no one sing`s it like her, whitney killed it. dolly`s the best

  • Sing it Dolly, No one, yes No one will be able to sing this song better than you, yes you Dolly, and besides that you wrote this song iand this will always be Dollys song, no matter who sings its,

  • Porter was a great musician and so is Dolly.

  • i am thinking this was Porters last appearance on the Opry before he passed away, thats probably why they had doilly on

  • She has and always will have a loving heart!

  • You can always depend on Marty. for down home country music.

  • If you can't aknowledge that Dolly's version is the best just proves that you know shit about music.

Anyone will like Whitney's, but only until they hear Dolly's.

  • impressive...

i will always love your country voice dolly..

  • Sorry, Dolly's very nice, but Whitney Houston singing this song is unbeatable!

  • @Patalhufas - Its Dolly's song?

  • @shortylukereid2010 I guess it is. According to Wikipedia: "I Will Always Love You" is a song written by American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton in 1973, who first released the song as a single in 1974.

  • @Patalhufas but she's the original you can't beat that

  • @Patalhufas I disagree I think Dollys version is the best, i hate all the remakes

  • Dolly looks scary, lol

  • Goldfish click here. -> 1:14

  • DRRYY @ 314rory

  • this my boo lol

  • She looks beautiful here!!! AS ALWAYS!!!

  • I love dolly parton but she has had too much done, she looks a little like one of the puppets. Beautiful singing

  • Lol at 0:49 he's staring at her boobs..

  • I love her :) x

  • This woman is beautiful inside and out...i will always love her

  • Dolly is a national treasure!

  • I think it's a crime how little attention Porter Wagoner's death received in the media. I'm really not a huge country fan by any means but as a musician I have a lot of respect for all musicians and Porter Wagoner was an amazing talent.

  • I was lucky to obtain Porter's autographed photo not long before he passed. These two legends of country music live on in their songs and Dolly writing this for Porter just showed how much she thought of him. I remember seeing an interview with him on tv once where he offered to buy back all the songs they wrote and sang together and she very lovingly gave them back for free.

  • why the hell did you cut it off..?? you jackass....

  • Sooo sweet <3

  • Porter sure had a lot of hair for an old guy! :)

  • Is it me or is Porter Wagoner Staring at her boobs the WHOLE SONG!!!!!

  • @beefybeaubriscoe I was there (backstage) and I think he just felt somewhat awkward, even though it was really cool. His eyes are lowered, but they're not looking at her chest the ENTIRE time. Often they're down and to his left. This was a huge deal for Porter. He died shortly after this show, and if you listen to his last album (on ANTI records), he had a lot of regrets. The stuff with Dolly was particularly difficult for him, as I understand it.

  • @grotepas Good information! I wanted to read more from you.....

  • The song may be about Porter Wagoner but those two were never married in real life. Porter is the reason Dolly got such a big start in her career because back in 1960, he hired Dolly to appear on his program "The Porter Wagoner Show".

  • love this song

  • Are Dolly's teats fake?

  • @RImusclebear Yes they are....she even makes jokes about being plastic and etc.

  • I am so blessed to get to meet Dolly Pardon back in the mid 1970's. I was so blessed to get to meet Porter Wagoner, back on 23 April 2005 when I was on the Grand Ole Opry in my Lightup shoes. I shure do miss him. I remember him singing the Green Green Grass of Home right after I had met him after the Opry Square Dancers Were Gone, I was so excited to get to say hi and shake his hand/. Best Wishes LittleCountryDJ

  • I remember seeing Porter and Dolly getting off the bus at the Texaco Truck Stop in Springfield, MO and just cutting up and having a great time as they'd go inside and grab some supper before heading on out on the road for a month or so of playing different places. Branson was where they'd usually start off the trip from. This song has meaning to us who was around the couple...and they were definately in love. I think Porter just needed more than Dolly was able to give.

  • @tazzmane it was a joke about the Whitney Houston version. Apparently it went over your head

  • Poor old man looks full of remorse.

  • blue eyes, I will always love you :(.....

  • This song was WRITTEN BY DOLLY for Porter Waggoner.........SHE AND HER HUSBAND WERE BOTH VERY DEVASTATED WHEN PORTER PASSED AWAY.

  • @nancylee1953 No shit sherlock? You think? Thanks for pointing out the obvious, Captain Obvious.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY ,DOLLY! 19 januari 1946

  • sad

  • RIP PORTER! U WILL SADLY BE MISSED

  • awww i love Dolly and RIP Porter

  • Is that Marty Stuart or Hollywood producer Robert Evans?

    Too close to call.

  • Blame Mitch , but I was afraid somebody'd ask "Porter who?" Could not find the Waltz duet of these 2 country legends.

  • Can anyone Say< "UNCOMFORTABLE!" What a "not" moment!

  • @240ups Uncomfortable no way, it is a very sweet moment.

  • what happened b/w the 2

  • @sulo12345dc Dolly Porter wanted to go out on her own, and he didn't want her too. She wrote this song for him.

  • @SuperNikki1 Can't spell very good it is Dolly Parton.

  • @TheDiddlysquat False music? I'll take Porter's stuff over Lady Gaga any day!

  • As he sits there, so many emotions seem to be running through him... I wonder if he's reflecting on how fortunate he is to be forgiven... for all the water under the bridge. What a truly lovely and gracious person she must be to sing this for him one last time. So nice they had this public but intimate moment near the end of his life, beautiful.

  • Yep... Dolly must truly love her husband deeply... they have been married since 1966,,, I was just noting that sometimes even thought we have husbands and wives... we also have other people we love who inspire us... we are all great beings and have the ability to LOVE ONE ANOTHER....even when we are not married to them. She LOVES the worlds.... what a AWESOME Person.... her music spreads JOY TO THE WORLD every moemnt she sings... it touches someones heart. Blessings.

  • @iristang2 Vegeta what does the scouter say about it's rating levels?

    It's OVER NINE THOUSAAAAND!!!!!!

  • wow, why all the hatred for dolly and porter??????? both legends, my dad used to watch his show and he is responsible for showing off new talent. Get a life all you haters.....youtube shouldnt be a forum for hatred...u dont like a video, uh...click off of it, nobody here is making u watch it. Sad.

  • @billsurf101 .AMEN! THESE ARE TWO LEGENDS IN COUNTRY MUSIC. To the people who wrote hateful and derrogatory remars---DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T WATCH TURN TO RAP AND GANGSTA CRAP, MAYBE YOU WILL LIE THAT BETTER!

  • @billsurf101 As duet partners, Porter and Dolly were absolutely the best!!!

  • @billsurf101 Because porter gave dolly her contract then he want her contract back and she said no. then he sued her and got 800 thousand dollars off her i dont like him he cant sing Good rittens

  • Geee wiz....

I am so sad that the below comments were posted here. Sounds like a personal issue. I am just a normal gal who is 50 something. Not personally involved in country music at all I prefer the classics.

I love Dolly's voice and she sings with heart. You can tell the difference.

I apologize if I have insulted anyone here. Peace to all tortured souls.. Smile.

  • @QuietOneOnLine

Don't take anything serioiusly Quiet on

Line....you are entitled to say what you

got to say....you have been very humble

    too...now cheer up\

    Dolly is Great!!

  • @TheDiddlysquat

    'Make ends meet' ???

Dear God, if Dolly is only making ends meet with her FORTUNE, we're all screwed!

    Dolly is THE best !!

  • @TheDiddlysquat

I don't know what or who you are but your garbage spewing does not belong here.

Such a tirade is totally uncalled for. Have you been managing Dolly's career" ?

I think she could always take care of herself very well without you criticizing anything about her life and who she has sung with. Porter has been a great musician and Dolly got her start with him. What happened with them is none of your business. Go soak your head. I hope your rude post can be deleted .-Paula

  • I wish my mum was alive.RIP

  • She really loved him.... I belive he was her inspiration for many of her songs.

Great STRONG Voice.... today many of the singers are not SUPER STARTS like this!

  • @QuietOneOnLine

In all honesty, I think she loves her husband more, they're still married, since 1966!

  • aww god everytime a watch this it gets me :( xxxxxx

  • What's so sad is that was the last time he ever was in public I think he died a few months later

  • What a Package she is. WOW!

  • Dolly parton is the sexiest woman alive....even today...shes a goddess

  • @shair00 Agreed! And she's not only the sexiest woman alive but the most beautiful one too =)

  • @OnlytrueDiva yes my friend, she is beautiful too, i meant sexy with no disrespect I assure you :)

  • @shair00 No, I didn't think you meant this with disrepect. I think she's the sexiest woman alive too ;-) Bless you!!!

  • @OnlytrueDiva bless you too, hope lives is treating you well

  • Love you Porter and Dolly !

  • So sad , Porters face,:(

  • @Sweetdreams30.... I ache for him. He must have suffered all of his life for wanting her.

  • oh my goodness, this is touching - Porter doesn't know whether to smile or cry

  • so Schoen

    JeffKendall44@aol

  • This song is timeless!

  • full video is in youtube too

  • @26greenrose You are kidding, right? You KNOW she is the writer of this song and that she wrote it for Porter originally, don't you? Yes, you know it.

  • @26greenrose she originally wrote the song when she was leaving his show back in the 60s

  • @26greenrose I hope you already know this, but... it's not really an interpretation of the song... Dolly wrote it. And she wrote it for Porter.

  • I've always loved her ever since I was a little girl. Im 34 now and still love her. I want her to meet me at the gates of haven if I go after her!

  • Daaaamn, just as Marty was about to get going they cut him off! Nice video anyway, Dolly Parton's so talented, and you can tell that she and Porter love each other deeply.

  • @LiamS92 There is another, complete version on the channel that posted this video.

  • this song is about Porter right?

  • Comment removed

  • yeah....this kind of pain is different of any kind of known pains,I believe it was hard for Porter in that moment,anyway...they made a special team together and they made history aswell in country music....R.I.P. Porter....I will always remeber you...

  • i´m young, so i don´t know the story about porter and dolly, but seems to me like it was more then a strictlly professional relationship. was he inlove with her. it looks like they are soulmates or something... anyone who knows?

  • @TennderPoisson maybe..but shes been married for like 44 years...so i hope not.

  • RIP Porter Wagnor

  • Porter looks so sad. It must have been so hard to listen to the words of that song . I don't know how they got through it without breaking down. Bittersweet memories I am sure.

  • it is so sad when se sings this to him and a few months later porter passed away

  • just beautiful

  • @huan

  • @LucySzebs Hi , I think u were trying to post something for me but I don't see it.

  • @huandinhtran hi yeah, was gonna post you the link to the whole song, not sure how to do it.

  • @huandinhtran, Hi, yeah, i was gonna post you the link to the whole song, no sure how to though

  • Don't try and tell me that there was NOTHING between these 2!!!!!

  • @RickinFLA07 Nope. Nothing.

  • @RickinFLA07 try listening to the words of the song, the whole perpose to the song is about love as a friend nothing more.

  • @tazzmanne Man, it's not about a bodyguard? Damn.

  • @ParadoxBaklash who said anything about a bodyguard? Dolly wrote this song to Porter Wagoner just before she left his show. why do you think she is singing this song to him? duh!!!

  • DOES ANYONE HAVE THE REST OF THIS???? I would luv to see her sing the entire part. Amazing. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. thanks

  • A touching, memorable performance. We were in the audience that night sitting in the front section right next to Porter and his family. Just had the feeling this might be Porter's last big show. It was a great night and now the auditorium and the historical stage circle is undergoing extensive repair from horrific floodwater damage.

  • She is the greatest, she may be getting older, but she can still sing better than anyone! She'll be singing forever and she will always be the best!!!

  • I will always love him too-my old friend!! He was so full of life and dirty jokes!!-I'll never forget his laugh-(aaaha!) and how he made me laugh! I'll never forget the countless times @ The Opry as his guest and also a guest at his home! What a hoot he was when we helped him with his only yardsale that he ever had! RIP Porter my friend!

  • great voice, great song, but i wish she would skip all the plastic surgery. It's slowly err-ing towards unpleasant to look at.

  • @linksafendanvooruit

funny you should say that but that's exactly what I was thinking. There is a real beauty in growing older naturally. Such a shame she's cross the line between a nip and a tuck and full speed into "michael Jacksonville"

  • Dolly nearly always sings this song with such feeling. Whitney Houston's version was loud, but garish without any real feeling behind the words.

  • @stewartx5 Well that is understandable because whitney did not write the song Dolly was actually thinking about people she really loved (porter) while writing this song. But obviously with the lyrics everyone can relate to this and Whitney just happened to sing it really well.

  • true love..never dies...

  • Dolly wrote this song for Porter when she left his TV show in the 70's and sang it to him as he was dying a few years ago.

  • one of the great moments in country music history.

  • @rojurand she must be about 400 now

  • she was way much prettier before

  • Country Institutions, period.

  • at 0:57 he looks at her breasts!!

    She sings it soo beautifully

  • Where is the full version??

loove it they would make a cute couple:P

  • A touching video - as I understand it, Porter gave Dolly her big start/break. You can tell they're still great friends and he's moved by her performance. Nice.

  • Man somebody needs to put this up again in its entirity!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This really touched me. I don't know. You just had to follow these two from their humble beginnings on the the Porter Wagner show. It is too bad the video is cut off.

  • Porter looks like he could die any second.

  • @blackcat10071 i know i am crying is he even died

  • He's already dead. If im not mistaken, he died in late 2008 or early 2009.

  • So,so sad.

  • Dolly....what a good Christian.......as on tv the other night....do not judge others....and it seems that you can forgive....

  • I watched interview of Porter Wagoner telling how Dolly sent him the rights to a song in the mail. Does anyone have any idea where I could find this interview again? I've searched high and low for it. I don't remember the details of exactly what she gave him.

  • I've seen the interview too. Porter ran into some trouble a while back with the IRS. He owed a lot of money in back taxes. Dolly found this out, and she bought the rights to his songs (saving his butt, really). Years later, he wrote her publishing company, requesting to buy back his songs. She found out about this and wrote him a letter, saying that she wanted to give the songs back to him at no charge. From what I remember of the interview, this amounted to over 1 million dollars. What a gem!

  • Beautiful lady in every way, amazing song writer and singer. She wrote this song as a farewell to Porter, ending their long and sometimes antagonistic relationship.

  • are they not friends anymore or something

  • nutsack666: It was an antagonistic business relationship in which he was the boss and she the employee which in the end affected and also ended their personal relationship. They remained good friends until Porter's death Oct. 28, 2007. Dolly is not one that holds a grudge but she realized the way Porter was treating her was not good for her.

  • nutsack666: Hence the song for Porter.

  • did porter take advantage of her sexually? i heard where she called him a shauvanist(sp?) at one point.

  • You're right. She did call him a chauvanist several times. I think it was just because he had the mindset that he was the bost, and she was to listen to what he had to say. That being said, Dolly has always said that she never slept with anyone that she didn't want to. You know Dolly, she wouldn't let anyone take advantage of her. She's too smart!

  • Спасибо, понравилось. Хорошие и чистые голоса. Привет из России.

  • i dont speak russian. i dont understand.

  • Try, through an interpreter - thank you liked. Nice and clean vote. Greetings from Russia.

  • я думаю, что Вы хотели говорить ... Thanks, was pleasant. Good and pure voices. Greetings from Russia.

    это не мое видео хотя

  • I do not know who laid out much this video, just like it and

probably the interpreter translated not quite exactly what I wanted to say.
