dude guys the whole family is somehow into musical arts his nephew is in a band his niece did a silent film. the family had music shop loaded w/ kick ass guitars in downtown Hudson,MA just look up "Bettencourt" and yes he's done tons with famous ppl I went 2 school with 2 bettencourts and my brother used to hang out with nuno and get into mischief with him back in highschool. THey love the music and entertaining people i'm not sure they care about the fame as much as getting lost in the music

@joegarzatv1 Rap is just a another form of music. It focuses on more on rhythm and flow than on expression through melody, but that doesn't diminish it as a form of music. Just because you have disdain for it doesn't mean that it isn't music. You simply hate rap because it's popular. Those artists are highly revered within their genre. I may not listen to rap, but I know ignorance when I see it. Some people hate metal cause "it's just a bunch of screaming." But it's more than that. So is rap.

The reason I hate most rap I hear (I bet there's some rap that doesn't do this) is that it's all about the vocals, it seems as if every thing else can just be bog-standard shit. What I mean is, all the compositions, instruments, drums etcetera behind the vocals are always really shitty and boring.

One big reason why Extreme stopped In 1995...or there abouts.. isbecause they were not getting any respect for all that hard work......3 sides was a master piece, but It got ripped up by critics..They were destroyed by many.

The band was fantastic and should have been as big for life just like GNR or any other super band.

Huge fan of both Bettencourt and Van Halen, as for comparing, it's just not fair to compare people who are that talented at a musical instrument. It all comes down to opinion, what you've got to think about is Eddie is possibly the most influential player of the modern day guitarist, and he's been going for years. He was the one who first showed us how to use harmonics, tapping and many other techniques to full effect. Both of these are just virtuosos of guitar.

Nuno is streets ahead of him in terms of technique (he's up there with Paul Gilbert) but then you have to consider how much of Nuno's playing is influenced by Eddie. He's not a rip off of EVH but I would probably have to call him an evolution of EVH, which is no bad thing but it means he tends to get overlooked because people thinks he's another EVH clone.

This is how a guitar should be played and this is how a shredder shreds. It is amazing how much absolute crap there is out today. Nothing is as impressive as the shredders from the late 80's: Malmsteen, Vai, Satch, Nuno, Skolnick, Marty Friedman. There is just no creative or anything that makes you saw wow in todays music.
