umm you are holding it wrong, what you do is hold the gun with your dominant hand with the finger on the trigger, then with your left hand slide your thunb up to your right hand thunb and lay it under the right hand thumb. also you did exelent on the recoil and the flash you just need to lighten up the parts of the frame you think would be affected by the flash. with the shell you need to ajust the curves so it matches the lighting in the film. keep doing this though because you are really good.

You should mute the recorded sound, it overlaps on the sound fx. but you got the actions perfect.

@TheAnneRobinson usually game mod sites have sound packs which you can download a bunch of gun sound effects for free. that's how i got mine. i'm not exactly sure which site in particular i got them from off the top of my head

@TheAnneRobinson i used the free footage from detonation films, which can be found on their website. i would definitely recommend getting a mac, they're all great, but you'd probably want a desktop rather than a laptop if you are going to use it for editing. they are pricey though

You have the recoil, flash, and cartridge ejection down pat, but you need environmental effects. Since it isn't suppressed the walls, your hands, and a little of your chest would light up. That is easy to do compared to the other stuff. So all in all nice effort.

nice fx.. if you planning to do this more in the future, add a light effect (so your hands will lighten up). Maybe some other shell sound (if you want i can send you some 3/4) and (witch looks very cool:) put the blending mode from the muzzleflash to "add". Realy that makes a good gunfire!  i like your work!

Nice effect, 2 points to make it "perfect" ^^, put a "room" flash at the same time as the muzzle flash, rooms light up too, and try fixing a barrel effect, you should be able to do it if you have 3D settings on your editing program, check out my vids.

it is an airsoft gun, usp pistol,  from speedytoys (can't link, so just google that).

I use the free effects they offer at the site...most of the free ones are basic but they really work great..If you want upgraded versions of effects or higher quality you have to buy them.

Google "half life 2 filefront"-first link. Scroll down, look on the left, under "Half Life 2" click "Downloads". The click on "Sounds/Sound Packs"...That's where I get a lot of good sound effects..The thing is you need to hunt around to find sound packs that actually have .mp3 files within the folder so you won't have to extract anything.
