@simplyjongen The unforgivable curses have no effect on dementors. Dementors cannot truly be killed. Expecto Petronum merely feeds them with positive emotions so they wotn attack the wizard (aka its a shield). Dementors however can die if they starve.

I've got to say this is probably the best scene in the entire Harry Potter series. How everybody's laughing at the dancing spider and then Moody says "What shall I have her do next? Drown herself?" Everybody is quiet and the scene gets really eerie as he shows the next curses.

The part where he uses the Imperius curse always gives me chills. It's amazing how quickly the mood changes. From everyone enjoying it and laughing, to realizing just how serious it is.
There are some clues as to his true identity in this scene such as when he tortures the spider right in front of Neville. Also, I find the Cruciatus curse, worse than Avada Kedavra. I mean, look what happened to the Longbottoms.

@Kaali974 The Avada Kedavra is a targeted spell only. It can only be used on one person at a time. You have to INTEND to kill them, and that intention needs to be so strong and so focused... so much so that attempting it on more than one target is, basically, impossible. It takes too much energy and splits your focus.
I really love the way he goes from having the whole class laughing to the seriousness of what these curses can do, especially with the imperius curse when he says 'What shall I have her do next? Jump out the window? Drown herself?'
Yes, also there are other things too, such as the other dark arts that allowed Voldemort to make horcruxes, and also what about that potion he made at the end of this movie (Goblet of Fire) that allowed him to be in corporeal form--should also be listed as unforgiveable even though it's not a curse, technically.

@Kaali974 The Avada Kedavra is a targeted spell only. It can only be used on one person at a time. You have to INTEND to kill them, and that intention needs to be so strong and so focused... so much so that attempting it on more than one target is, basically, impossible. It takes too much energy and splits your focus.

I really love the way he goes from having the whole class laughing to the seriousness of what these curses can do, especially with the imperius curse when he says 'What shall I have her do next? Jump out the window? Drown herself?'

Yes, also there are other things too, such as the other dark arts that allowed Voldemort to make horcruxes, and also what about that potion he made at the end of this movie (Goblet of Fire) that allowed him to be in corporeal form--should also be listed as unforgiveable even though it's not a curse, technically.

@SlaytanicMayhem Ah but they typically have another use AND are block-able....if someone aims an Avada Kedavra at you you best move or else you are dead. End of story no hope. Plus the Cruiatius curse exist for the SOLE purpose of torture...not something to be twisted around
