  • Huff is biased on everything, it's commenter's and bloggers are a bunch of thin skined coward smart-asse's i.e. by them telling you that your grammer isn't perfect (apparently they never learned to not put people down while in school) Or by not letting you speak your mind or your experiences in the REAL world that dosn't meet their criterias of TRUTH, hence the censorship and the smartass replys we get.

  • I was just banned for simply saying "HuffingtonPost should be called "CensorshipPost"

So their response to people being critical of their censorship policy is to ban people. How fucking pathetic. Fuck Arianna Huffington. I hope she gets cunt cancer.

  • Huffington Post moderates every fucking comment section in their articles. Its a joke.

Progressives for free speech and expression should not CENSOR speech.

The Huffington Post is a fucking joke. This is the internet. Imagine Youtube or Google censoring comments. Fuck the Huffington post.

  • I have been revoked also. I guess my views are not in line with theirs.

  • Look it's plain and simple with the Huffington Post...They will censor any person who contradicts their articles in any way shape or form. Basically if they are wrong they wont admit it and they don't like anyone who can report the news better than them. All I have to say is one thing...if you report the news and want to be above the rest leave out partiality and get you facts straight. So to you journalist (Huffington post) don't be partial or bias or your article will just be incomplete.

  • Thank you. I wasn't only censored, I was completely banned from Huffington Post because my username was "I Hate AOL". I actually received an email in response to my inquiry confirming that my user name was the reason I was banned, and that such usernames are "unacceptable". So much for any pretense of free expression, open dialogue and rigorous debate.

  • Comment removed

  • rabidly propagandist.

said something like..."It might be a good idea to read about 'x' and learn about 'y'"

razed to the ground like it was a hotdog stand in mecca

  • Undefined is what I am getting when I comment - the text disappears. Four years of posts, over 4400, 1600 friend and one post that received 107 favorites, pundit here. I am awaiting for the reason why. I was banned before, 4 years ago, due to same topic I was on (Israel). My comments are still in place so I do not know what is happening. "undefined" is still the only text visible and it has been 5 days. I take this seriously since it takes a lot of time and research. Discrimination.

  • I agree that HuffPost is frustratingly arbitrary with their censorship of comments. All too often I find that the time I take to express my opinion has been wasted due to questionable deletion of my posts. It happens regulary even to the tamest of my comments. Most of my posts are critical of conservatives actually, so my snotty teabagging corporate stooge friends out there can relax because it happens no matter what your politics are on HuffPost.

  • You are quite correct in your assessment of huffpost. They not only practice censorship but do so erratically and with obvious bias and prejudice. I have found that it seems to be variable as to the censor on duty as to whether something gets through or not. The same basic comment that will not get through at one time makes it through at a different time of day. Their actions are highly unprofessional and unethical and in addition they regularly practice the worst kind of yellow journalism.

  • My 2nd day as a registered user and got censored. I posted my comment before lunch, when i checked after lunch, it was gone. I had no idea they censor comments, which makes the comment section not representative of the collective thoughts of the users. I see you posted this video years ago, did you ever write that article or do anything about this?

  • yup, was banned from commenting because I did not conform to their politics(I think, what else could it have been...).

  • if you don't want to be censored, there's a simple way to avoid it. just kiss obama's ass like everyone else at huffpo. hope that helps:-)

  • This type of behaviour by the Huffpost is the norm. Any claim it had to being a forum for open discussion have long since past.

On Huffpost I have never used profanity, never been anything other than polite and civil, and always given a well reasoned argument for my opinions. It seems that my behaviour did not fit the ideals of Huffpost. The sooner it is dipatched to the pages of history the better.

  • Yes "AnnaCTArt" is 100% correct. If a moderator personally disagrees with your position/statement the comment will most likely not make it to the board.

  • Yes...a T O N of censorship for expressing views/opinions contrary to the commenting majority. I've also had non-profane non-threatening comments removed on Huffington Post affiliated outlets such as "Sporting News" recently where I expressed doubt in the Penn State situation. That comment was posted via Facebook so I suspect that Huffington Post is now monitoring Facebook access to their media network. On one comment "group flagging/mob flagging" occured just before it was removed.

  • Dont dare mention the Jew word on huff

  • @motsigman Hell, no don't. And it gets even worse. Carl Levin just voted against an amendment prohibiting the military from disappearing citizens here in the states. i said among other things that he "works for a foreign government". I think that was all it took to get that post censored. Its a shame, because they have the content and the packaging. Jews are always good at the packaging.

  • I got banned for telling the truth. If you want the quickest route of being banned, just wait until a pro-gay article is posted then get into a philosophical disagreement with a gay individual. You will be banned before you have a chance to refresh the page. HuffPO has community monitors who get that position as a reward for 20 snitches (reports) on people who have different opinions than theirs. Once they get the Nazi badge, they call you vulgar names until they ban you. Agree or be banned.

  • I hate huffington post and the bitch it is named after. She is a Obama cock sucking whore who is so far left she has to make an appointment a year in advance just to see the middle from afar. She and HP love to play up the bullshit and ride the GOP bashing train. I never seen such garbage over Rick Perry's brain fart in my life. Hell she forgets to get real all the time. Oh, and the iPhone app sucks.

  • I gave up posing on HP. Their rules are vague, and the censorship is frequent and unpredictable. There seems to be a balance between political sides and intellectual levels, depending on the article. Anything against HP censorship is censored. The badges program is like the way you manipulate first-graders. They do not respond to emails.

  • HP has gotten considerably worse with their censorship over the years. I rarely go to the site anymore because of it. I am 100% LIBERAL. The site is no where near as liberal as people think it is, or it pretends to be. The level of censorship they exhibit is completely anti-liberal. I ENJOY debating with people who think differently than me. I can't count the number of times I've gone to answer a conservative view point and the post has already been deleted. I've also had liberal commentsdeleted

  • HuffPo posted a story about the recipients of their "Game Changers" awards, one of whom was Kim Kardashian. People went nuts and within hours there were hundreds of comments about what a vapid useless waste she is and that her inclusion made the entire event a joke. Since then, almost all comments have been removed. I don't know why the HuffPo editorial staff would so blatently pander to the Kardashian machine but I am disgusted by their actions and will not visit again.

  • Huffington Post censors anything that doesn't toe the progressive line. They never post any of my comments. I have never used any foul language, only sensible debate. Posting comments and then seeing "need to be reviewed" reminds me what it would be like to live in Cuba, China, or Iran.

  • HUFF PO-today i posted a comment defending Mother Teresa in a discussion stemming from an anti-Christian article , My comments where very civil and simply called for a level of respect to this kind person..it was not posted !

  • Indeed i have had MANY accounts deleted by the CU#T arianna ! the comments i (tried) to make were in no way "patently offensive" , contained no profanity , etc. , as in the video authors case , i wrote them several emails , with no response , .....,i have contacted the A.C.L.U......and lodged a complaint. I suggest ALL who have experienced this to do the same Lets bring this NAZI bit#h down !

  • The Huffy as I call it is also controlled by a bunch of man hating feminists & boot licking manginas. Some of their male bashing articles make me sick. I notice this too, they censor anyone that criticizes them. Reading the Huffy comment section is a bore since they only allow the most inane "yes sir, no sir" type of comments to really exist to prop up the blog/article. No different than some lamo censoring the comments on their Youtube vids an then whine no one takes them seriously anymore.

  • yup recently i made a post for the first time and it was censored

  • HuffPo censorship is insane.

  • I believe the problem is that comment moderators are neither paid nor monitored. They are commenters that work up to the level of moderator by virtue of their volume of activity. This means moderators tend to be people who sit at their computer all day and use the forum as a chat room. They tend to be retired people who are acting as watchdogs and who are overly sensitive to anything they don't understand. Consequenly they are quick to censor good comments and banishing people from the site.

  • I'm, a liberal & I just posted a PRO LIFE post that is "Awaiting moderation" Not suure what "Dirty word" I used but I'm about done with the site. Ever since the sale & takeover "Moderation" aka censorship has gone WAY UP.

  • Im a fuckin liberal and they removed 2 of my accounts, i had each account for 4 posts each. WTF

  • I commented on thehuff, "Red vs. Blue is the ruling class offering you two choices because they know if the avg person is offered only two choices they will pick one of the two. So as long as you're a republican or a democrat they are happy, happy that you no longer think for yourself, happy that you now belong to them." Then my account was deleted for ToS violations.

  • I am with you, they claim they want freedom of speech, I am a moderate conservative in my views, I posted about 10 replys today none of which was inflamatory about 5 made it thru, they were the milder ones. if you confront their views at all they have no argument, so they delete it as if that makes your view go away, but for now I will keep plugging away hoping to get one by them

  • @Hotrodbuilderny They delete about half of my comments unless I make them so vague or innocuous then they'll get through. I think that their system is set up that if you comment regularly using an unacceptable viewpoint, your comments will be looked at more seriously (deleted). I only check huffington post to see what the propaganda is that they want us to believe so that I can believe the opposite. Their Trolls are the worst, most vicious vile human beings on the planet.

  • The Huff Post censors are out of control.

  • I too was deleted for no apparent reason. I was a poster there for several years and decided that I wanted to change my user name as well as the email I was using to a secondary email of mine. I created a new account and posted a total of six posts. The final post that I posted was on an article of Congressman Weiner and the call by democrats for him to resign. I stated that the Democrats needed to begin to think strategically because you can bet to believe that the Republican call for his resi

  • I have not had a problem getting my comments posted however I recently looked at my Comments in my profile. Any comments regarding Gov. Scott Walker (I'm against) of Unions (I'm pro) were deleted.

  • @knapstellar I just had a similar experience. I tried to comment on David Espo's "Debt Ceiling Debate Hinges On Medicare: Can Democrats And Republicans Make A Deal? " pointing out that Obama is continuing Bush's supply side fiscal and monetary policies, the ones that caused the national debt to double under Bush and now seems to concede the battlefield to the republicans by allowing Medicare and social programs to be on the table and not educating the electorate about the real causes of the ND.

  • I do rough there to four post a day and at least one or two are censored. Lately it getting worse, so I keep reposting till they kick me out.

  • Huffington Post is a bunch of pinko panzie liberals who censors the shit out of anyone who disagrees with their far left, sick beliefs. Good Bye AOL !!!

  • Fox news may be right leaning but at least they do not censor posts. Huffington post is a propaganda propellant . It only accepts comments of those who are of a left leaning view or a blithering right leaning idiot (if it makes them look bad it will get posted). Those of a centrist view who have facts or use logic, get censored out. It's a horrible place. Festering pit of circle jerking.

  • @Sedryn ....I think you exaggerate by far.....I've seen censorship

on HP, but mostly about being critical of Israel.....you can do

so but can be censored if you bring up the attack on

the US Liberty, or other false flag op's like

    911....or so it seems....

I've seen plenty of conservative comments on HP...actually

I would like to see more, as much of it is easy to counter...

  • @Sedryn Huff only accepts comments from people who are totally out of their minds. Any comment from a rational thinking knowledge based individual is censored.

  • Huffington Post and AOL joined forces to promote CENSORSHIP at its worst. Huffington Post uses member moderators who frequently delete your posts if you have a view point they personally disagree with or you dare respond negatively to their own liberal posts. It does not matter how "civil" you are in your opinion.

There is no realistic discussion going on Huffington Post when it is constantly skewed to a liberal position via censroship. Please got to HuffPost and tell them so often.

  • I have been tracking my comments on HP-AOL & over 90% have been delayed from posting with the following "This comment is pending approval and won't be displayed until it is approved." Right now I have 7 pages of comments that have fallen prey to HP-AOL policy in the last 30 days, a significant amount. Of the 90% that were pending approval about 25% of those were never posted. The issue is not whether posts are liberal or conservative, the issue is the unashamed censorship policy of HP-AOL.

  • Yes some of my posts are not getting published also and I think it can't be a coincidence some of the posts I write about politics and religion are not getting published whereas all the posts about education/travel etc. are getting published and I don't use derogatory language either.Whenever I think I wrote a very clever reply to a blog or a person my post doesn't go through.Hmm. Does a computer software etc. monitor all these posts or people?

  • @parad0xx86 It'd have to be people, although I think that if you fail to use certain key words, your post may go unnoticed. I've noticed that censorship happens less on holidays, but in the last 6 months this doesn't seem to be the case. Guess they're making people work the holidays now. But when there was a holiday, I noticed a ton of conservative viewpoints from intelligent people correcting the shit out of the propaganda. LOL, they must need some really delete happy censors at the Huff.

  • I have a new slogan for The Huffing A Ton Post:

Godmodding: At Least WE Know We're Wrong.

  • I only mentioned, on an article about Glenn Beck's being fired, that Glenn Beck was a hilarious satirist and anyone who took him seriously, fan or enemy, was missing the point. I made this point in many different wordings, with the latter ones accusing censorship, & only one passed the original moderation period, but even that was deleted within the hour. Which leads me to ask, "Why does the Huffing A Ton Post want you to believe an obvious satirist is an extremist?" What could that agenda be?

  • Huffington Post is a bigoted racist radical leftist marxist group that will censor anything they do not agree with, their censorship is in fact disgusting and they are not an ethical company - info@lcaa.ws

  • @davemc7777 .....sounds like right wing crazy paranoid talk...

  • Worse HP will skew comments to make it look like commentator have a certain slant.

  • I am a liberal who frequently rants on both political and nonpolitical subjects on Huffpost. Many of my rants are censored. And it isn't getting any better. Complaints about censorship on the HuffPost itself are often seen, if only possibly temporarily. I can understand censoring personal attacks ("You're ugly!"), but I have a big problem with progressives mixing blogging with censorship. Being progressive and being a censor are inherently contradictory.

  • They deleted my comments as well. Apparently, those of us who may submit to issues in the news that require attention or challenging comment must meet (they're)

stringent, narrow point of view. In my warrented opinion, the Huffington Post is only one-half of any viable news source. If they truly are to find value as they survey they're efforts at presenting the news, they should quit flexing they're muscles in front of a mirror and step out on the playing field.

  • The Huffington Post recently deleted many of my posts, then removed my profile, Xarkonul, even though I had in no way violated their stated guidelines. Even if The Huffington Post has the legal right to censor whomever they please, those in charge there should at least clarify in their guidelines that they censor people with whom they disagree ideologically.

  • This comment is pending approval and won't be displayed until it is approved =p

  • This comment is pending approval and won't be displayed until it is approved.

  • Huffington Post is like a teacher in a classroom that doesn't want to hear your opinion, UNLESS it is in total agreement with his/her opinion.

It is NOT a discussion. It is a LIBERAL RANT. That's it!!!

  • yes so much so that I stopped wasting my time. I would post a comment, be attcked by the article author and try to defend myself (while complying with their moderation policy) and had my comment deleted. They can attack you but you are not allowed to defend yourself and OMG Jesus help you if you are not a rabid zionist. A bunch of F'n cowards they are they embarass them selves. I am "damn raging liberal" but those people make me sick.

  • I used to comment there, but once I criticized Israel, NONE of my comments ever show up.

  • It's very interesting but the majority of my comments on Israel are censored. I don't use hyperbolic language, inflammatory remarks, or call on anyone's death, yet they never get through. So I just decided to stop reading HuffPost.

Interestingly, on foxnation (dot) com, you cannot type the following words:

    Hell

    Muslim

    Black

    Try it.

  • i completely agree. HP mods arbitrarily delete or censor comments. I wrote a comment that was critical of Hugo Chavez and it was censored.

Talk about liberal intolerance. Not even Fox News or Townhall censors comments.

  • This happened to me recently. I was critical about the writer - a film writer with no political background.

I was writing a response to a rant-like post about Paul Ryan's speech. The writer hadn't even bothered to check Paul's voting record before publishing a hate-filled article.

My censored comment on my blog: filledelarenaissance.tumblr.

  • @ViralGroupie yeah good luck with that they think free speech doesn't include fair critisism of themselves.

  • I'm a liberal and have had many of my comments censored on HuffPo. These comments were completely respectful and (I think) contributed very well to the overall discussion. I found that when I took a critical approach to the article - especially if it was written by Arianna herself, or an approach not shared by the HuffPo, my comments never saw the light of day.

I swore off that publication. The majority of their stories come from other sources anyway.

  • Haha - try and say something bad about Israel on Huff post.

  • I've had two profiles deleted by HP and 10s of if not more than 100 posts censored. No explanation is ever given, despite multiple times I've contacted them and asked for an explanation.

  • Huff Post does not tolerate ANY remote discussion on alternative 9/11 theories. No talk of that matter will be discussed in any way. It was a bunch of guys in a cave that pulled it off - end of story; move on to the next new topic. Any doubt about the official story will be immediately erased. I have not been able to post to that site in years because I doubted some things about the official story and made some very mild posts relating to questions I had. I was not over-the-top.

  • At least THP allows comments. Try finding a way to comment on Andrew Sullivan's Blog and you won't find it. Arianna is infinitely more popular because she at least allows comments, and I am sure it is a great effort to screen them. I think she should post a statement about their "editorial" policies, and admit that they do censor comments so we aren't so surprised when we find that one or more of our comments gets the silent treatment.

  • The problem is that the moderators are extreme leftists. They are simply given the power to do as they please and thus they'll censor the way Fox News would on their own sites.

Arianna is pretty much no better than Fox News if she doesn't allow freedom of speech. If the only opinion I can post is an extreme left one, then this isn't a journalistic site or even a discussion, just a cheering section. They become no better than the Tea Party.

  • I've never been able to post a comment on the Huffpost site. My comments were conservative, but not inflammatory. It didn't matter and they were censored every time. There are tons of nasty, rude comments from liberals attacking, Beck, Rush, Fox, Palin, etc. and they are allowed.

This website is very far left and does not want to hear any other point of view.

  • @szekp

I think that's a shame. Of course, as one who holds liberal views, I think it's perfectly OK for a web site to present leftist editorial viewpoints. But commentators who present differing views respectfully should be treated politely and given a forum to dissent. However, my complaint about Huffington Post is not that they censor conservative views, but that they censor arbitrarily. With them, it is more than just political.

  • @jmaynardg I remember an article that I read awhile ago about how liberal news presenters on TV have to go to a special school in order to learn how to present the liberal viewpoint. Almost no one on TV can present the liberal viewpoint with conviction without indoctrination and a paycheck attached to it. Conservatives however will set up their own blog, YT channel & even online TV channel to share their viewpoints freely with all who are interested.

  • @jmaynardg I am very liberal on some issues and conservative on others and YES they arbitrarily ban you as I am living proof of that...I don't understand this pansy-fication of America at all...I used to get people absolutley slamming me and threatening me and bashing my heritage (Jewish) but I never once reported it like a big puss, I fought back with words and lo and behold I am the one banned from posting! Isn't anyone adult enough to not cry to the moderators about WORDS?

  • @szekp

oh, they censor comments from non-conservatives as well ... especially if those comments are critical of

    1. The author

    2. The Huffington Post

    3. The author's opinion

it doesn't matter at all if you're left or right. your comments are gone if a moderator wants it gone and that's the beginning and the end of it.

Oh, and don't bother even mentioning Israel. That word automatically lands you in the moderation queue ... just like 'shit', 'fuck', 'race' and other dangerous words.

  • @szekp The few of my conservative comments that get through are attacked by the most vicious trolls on the planet. These people have no shame, conscience or empathy. Even my innocuous comments are attacked for being vague or lacking detail. Of course, my comment is vague and lacks detail, if it weren't, it'd be censored. The trolls on Y T are much better because we can at least call them out on their bad behavior.

  • @szekp Hey man, I am not conservative at all and have been officially banned from that site! I didn't post anything inflammatory either. I would say I am a social liberal and fiscal conservative and I mostly commented on whiney celebrity stories anyway...very rarely said anything political and got up one morning and I am banned. You can't even find out why because the link to complain is disabled!

  • @SpaceChief75 that maybe didn't make sense so i will say that there are many economical and political issues that i am conservative about but when it comes to religion and celebrity news and stuff I am pretty liberal....just to clear up why it says I am not conservative at all and then says the opposite I am posting too early or something anyway you get the point.

  • @szekp Whether or not your post is approved and posted has 100% to do with whether or not the moderator agrees with you. I am liberal and have had many liberal comments deleted that were not at all inflammatory. I've also seen other liberal, noninflammatory comments removed, as well as conservative ones. The site is anti-free speech which is anti-everything true liberals AND true conservatives believe in.

  • @szekp Leave it to a conservative to not comprehend the point made in this video.

  • Comment removed

  • I just got censored for defending Chris Christie. The guy is on vacation at Disney World with his family in the middle of this latest nor'easter. To be expected, all the approved comments were "He's fat and dumb", "Typical Republican, taking a vacation in the middle of a crisis" and "It's just like Bush and Katrina."

I merely posted that Obama was off playing golf in Hawaii with his family, yet he wasn't getting any hate. I guess criticizing President Obama is grounds for censorship on the HP.

  • @AliveSigns Oh no, another person who doesn't worship O the dictator in chief.... Where are the censors when the liberals need them (sarcasm).

  • Comments to Blogs are more likely to be censored than comments to News.

Many of their guest bloggers get the VIP treatment - must not disagree with Doctor Frickityfrack, or famous liberal actor Troy McClure.

The news sites get touchy during election season, and the moderators always get trigger happy when it comes to gay issues.

But hey, it's their website/ their rules.

btw, I'm a conservative and I probably get more than 30% of my comments yanked. No hard feelings, though.

  • Progressive liberal here and I got the same treatment.

So I don't know what is going on over there.

  • I was polite and funny. I had 120 fans and was a "super-user". I was sometimes not allowed to post comments. I usually tried to go against cliques. Now, I am banned. I don't know why.

  • i was kicked off hufshits about two years ago.. They censor and ban like the former USSR. Look at ABC's comments today concerning Julian Assange close to being arrested for not using condom (In Sweden this is considered rape ..nOT kidding) ... all ABC comments are against Assange. They censor and countless others do also to highten the line they want to promote. FUCK them

  • Man, I have been so disappointed and upset about this same kind of censorship over the past few weeks when I simply posted some well-known items about John McCain without bad language, etc......only to have them snuffed out and to have my complaints snuffed out as well. I feel very let down and still do because we have less and less democratic rights in this society. Of course, the reaction to Wikileaks is the epitome. Time to wake up the sheep and start a revolution!

  • Dude, I am a liberal and I have been censored so many times on Huffington Post... honestly I have been censored well over 35 times, easily. No curse words, no name calling... just straight up censorship because they didn't like my point-of-view. The people at Huffington Post do nothing for true liberals, they're actually no better than neocons!

  • I experienced the same thing! I replied to a post that asked why the left was so against the Patriot Act, Against Bush and his wars yet has no problem with the TSA pat downs and Obama breaking his word on pulling us out of the wars. And why the biggest rally since Obama was elected was a COMEDY CENTRAL rally!! The post was deleted. Its clear the HP is a facade to keep the people on the left contained and off the streets.

  • I recently experienced the same problem on HuffPo's website. I was trying to voice my descent to an article about the Middleeastern peace process. My comments were well thought and contained no foul language whatsoever. They were censored. It was very obvious that most likely the author himself was the moderator because the blog was top on google's index and yet there were only 50 comments. There would be pending comments 4-5 at a time and after refreshing the page, they would be gone.

  • Huffington Post people are a bunch of pot smoking Fascist degenerates that want rob the American people of our prosperity and freedom. The next time we have a right wing President and Congress, I hope all these Huff PO vermin migrate to Canada and stay there forever.

  • You are absolutely correct, sir. That is why I no longer patronize the Huffington Post. Ironically I basically agree with the HP politics, but I cannot tolerate censorship.

  • Where can we submit our comments which were censored? My comments are too long for this forum. I have had about 1/2 of all of my commentary censored just as others state. As a former lib, I have never seen such blatant censorship as we see at Hufpo. Hufpo is an exponent of liberal/Progressives' hatred for The Proverbial Common Man/Woman. They believe they are of the elite who have earned their priestly stripes at university to rule over us as in their wannabe Philosopher Kingdoms of Old.

  • AIPAC Huff Po Censorship City

  • @ryanshaunkelly

    Exactly.

  • They kept knocking my comments out. A lot of times I think it was because I made a decent point. They pulled one comment because I made mention of Larry Sinclair, the guy Obama had a physical relationship with and did coke with. They also pulled comments in support of Tea Party candidate Carl Paladino. Liberals like to pretend they’re easy-going but they’re the worst for being intolerant of views that aren’t theirs.

  • I've had the same experience. Some of my posts have gone through. However, I take exception too many of the assertions of the Lifestyle articles which make unscientific claims. Most recently, I posted a comment about an article by Dana Ullman in which he prescribed homeopathy as a cure or therapy against depression. My comment pointed out that the political content of the Huffington Post website suffers when snake oil is peddled in the lifestyle section.

This is an important story. Disturbing.

  • heres how complete the huffpo censorship machine is.

I got banned unjustly (no cursing or crazy ranting , just political opinion to the "right".

They even purged my 100 previous posts from their site. WHY WOULD YOU DELETE OLD POSTS THAT WERE ON THERE FOR MONTHS ?

They apparently record your IP address so you cant register again under a different name.

Now they've given frequent posters the ability to censor/moderate other peoples posts. Holy crap,is this the liberal idea of free speech?

  • Just got banned from HuffPost! WORST SITE EVER for censorship. Not to mention the irritating fucking ads that crawl all over their site. They SUCK. And I'm more or less pretty liberal! But you can't even quote some of their articles verbatim and make it past their filter. They seem to automatically censor you just for using words like "ridiculous." I'm actually fucking glad I was banned but I may go ahead and keep terrorizing them under a series of different emails just for revenge.

  • Huffington Post removed the blog of Jesse Ventura because he dared to bring up the facts that proved 9/11 was an orchestrated event. He dared to question the criminals that have hijacked our Democracy. Huffington Post exclaimed that they were censoring all articles and not allowing any content by anyone which in anyway related to the truth of 9/11, as they called it "conspiracy theories." Huffington Post does allow any content that promotes the conspiracy theory of 19 Muslims, that is, lies.

  • Huffington Post censors anyone that tells the Truth about 9/11 or anything that has to do with vital truth. Huffington Post appears to be wholly hijacked,at this point.

It's good for those among us who use the mass media to "stay informed".

Arianna has given up on her original stated mission. By undermining truth and free exchange of information they are contributing to the destruction of our free society. However it is people like you that will assure they won't succeed in the end.

  • I have had similar experiences and dont think anything an old country doctor who is 71 and practiced medicine for 45 plus years says is offensive except to a set point of view.

  • Hi, I've been working with people who are fed up with HP censorship. We have a petition and blog but YouTube won't let me paste URL's here. Please send me a youtube message if you are interested.

  • by the way, if you happen to use my example for any article you write, please do not include my user name. thanks and good luck!!!

  • they are giving liberals a bad name. at this rate, i'd much rather visit fox news than huffpo. as much as i don't agree with the articles on foxnews, at least i have the freedom to comment on them as i wish! huffpo, through their censorship, is setting itself up to be politically irrelevant in the near future. no wonder why it's entertainment section is getting more popular. they don't welcome commentators who like to discuss the hard issues. they much rather prefer smart-asses with one-liners!

  • thank you so much for posting this video! i agree with you wholeheartedly. i have been repeatedly censored at huffpo for several comments and it's just so absurd! both comments were about articles covering the middle east, and since i am from that region, i shared my insight. but my comments on both articles were removed!!! meanwhile, those with no knowledge of the middle east who were spewing all sorts of ignorance and hate were allowed to post freely. how dare they claim to be a liberal site!

  • screw those censoring bastards. I just had my comment deleted, I didn't swear or insult anyone, or any group, or anything.

To hell with them, see if I go back to that place.

  • This has happened to me also, and when it did, I was in complete shock. About a month ago a responded to an article in the college section regarding University of Virginia's decision to eliminate phones in dorm rooms. I thought this was wrong and I went on to say some people actually do use landlines (including myself) and there may be some health risk associations with heavy cellphone usage. This comment was immediately deleted.

  • Comment removed

  • Apparently they value the crackpot contributions of Joe Mercola more than the mass of people who dare to call him on his pseudoscience and outright lies. 95% of the comments on the article about Microwaves being dangerous (LOL) are being deleted. Pathetic.

  • The Huffpost moderators are given their rights to delete, edit, and refuse posts based on nothing more than their agreement with the current Huffington Post liberal attitude. I am a liberal, but I do not agree with all of the liberal attitudes. In expressing my opinions, I had posts deleted and (even more infuriating) REWRITTEN. I have ZERO faith in the ability of the Huffington Post or its "moderators" in creating an open and fair discussion.

  • @benjiesell

Last Friday I was banned from posting.

I was trying to create dialogue about the user moderator system, proposing that it is detrimental to honest, open debate..."transparent debate," as they put it in their FAQ section.

A moderator deleted my post and the the string of supportive comments that followed.

So I reposted at another story. Deleted. So I kept posting.

    Banned for "spamming."

I have 5,300 comments at HP. Banned for daring to criticize them.

  • I beg anyone who reads this to test the full extent of their censorship, just try and make even the slightest negative comment on Bill Gates blog post and watch how fast it gets vacuumed up into the abyss.

Not only that, the comments on him are so positive and glowing that anyone with a brain would know not everyone thinks this eugenicist clown is a hero. Far from it~!

  • Just had another post removed concerning Robert Gibbs remark about the "professional left." Again, no cussing and nothing that violates HP's rules. I received a couple of replies and a few marked "favorite."

  • I didn't realize how much the censored until I started posting. Wow they just don't post or they delete the comment. It's infuriating. I think someone should make a mirror website of their and let people comment much more freely.

  • @sentienceISi

    Excellent idea!

  • Just had my account removed after not even 1 day and 8 comments. No swears, no personal attacks just disagreement. I have read those ridiculous comments too long not to say anything. Just goes to show you how "open minded" liberals are. They sure are open minded when it comes to sexual deviance, drug use, or spending others money but robust political discourse is not welcomed. They are fools, like i needed any more reason to suspect.

  • @dugiv

I am a liberal but this site's abuse, in its censorship, is against everything I stand for.

I was banned from DARING to criticize their abusive censorship.

On that note, sir or madam, homosexuality is a natural variant on human sexuality. Please educate yourself.

  • @danby68 Im not talking about homosexuality or any of that LGBT stuff, ive read some really out there things on that site with regards to sex and drug use.

  • @dugiv

    Ah, thank you for clarifying.

  • huffington post and fox news are both tools of the NWO don`t be fooled by them.

  • update - after having more posts censored , I now find myself officially and totally banned from posting. Not only that but they even erased my 112 previous posts made from Nov of last year to present. WOW ! These hypocrites are unbelievable. Apparently posts with curses or wishing death on our former VP are ok with them (I've got examples), but my posts with no curses but just criticisms of the Prez or "Saint Rachel " Maddow are too much for them. Please someone expose these people.

  • Arriana Huffington lied to the Republican Party and now she's lying about being a liberal . She just wants to use liberals to make money from advertizing and syndication .

She is a fake and liar.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, just had a comment deleted 3 times in regard to Wikileaks and Afghanistan. I commented that Republicans never cared that we were in Afghanistan and Democrats stopped caring because Obama is in charge now.

Never cussed or violated ANY "rules."

My opinion? Too many sycophants running the show over there.

  • FUCK the Huffington Post! I left a comment on an article about the DISCLOSE act saying that it is anti first amendment (because it is), & that the ACLU has come out against it (because they have) and they DELETED MY COMMENT! I didn't break any rules! i was just commenting. i am absolutely disgusted with HP, and am deleting my account there. i advise anyone else with any sense to do the same. stop giving them money by viewing their adverts!

  • I have sent an e-mail to the Huffington Post asking for contact information for my comments that have been removed and I have not received any response.

I was not able to find that info on their website although I do believe that I previously saw it and that they have removed that info.

Would you happen to know the contact info (i.e. e-mail address) for issues concerning moderation and the removal of comments at the Huffington Post?

  • Hello jmaynardg,

I have also recently been experiencing the removal of comments to the Huffington Post.

My comments did not violate their guidelines in any way and are not politically motivated. Tonight I tried to post a comment to a write-up regarding a feud between Elisabeth Hasselback and Kathy Griffin regarding Kathy's comments about Scott Brown's daughters. In my response I stated that I felt that both women were wrong for acting the way they did.

    My comment was removed.

  • it's a privately owned site that can do what they want with what you post on it. stop crying. if you disagree, make your own privately owned website and post what you want on it.

  • Radical liberals have always been mentally ill. I always make it a point to provide sources, avoid vulgar language, and post my thoughts in a lucid manner, but I don't think any comment of mine has stuck. They are either censored by moderators or immediately flagged by their little army of insane marxists and deleted. It wouldn't surprise me to find out a number of these automatons were JIDF or some other political "pros." It's very strange to see so many people acting like loons in one place.

  • @channelswimmer

Do you have a specific story to tell about a censored comment YOU had written, or is your interest simply to use this forum on Huffington Post censorship to insult one or another group of people with irrelevant banter? Post some meat, the fluff is less interesting than cotton candy.

  • @jmaynardg

Well, Maynard, today I expressed my concern about radical left wing anarchist and communist groups and their involvement in inciting the riots in Oakland and participation in the acts of domestic terrorism last night. I linked articles/pics from a number of recent events as well as the FBI statistics that stated these groups were responsible for 29% of domestic terrorist acts on US soil. I said the media needs to do a better job of alerting the public to these extreme left threats..

  • @channelswimmer, I am a "radical liberal" and I've been censored by huffpo. I commented on a story about Bernie Madoff. My comment did not contain vulgarity, I only stated that It was obvious that the big banks knew what Madoff was doing, because he who makes the money make the rules.. I said banks are only good at distributing money and wall street does not contribute to society. I was censored. It's more than "liberal" Huffpo doesn't honor freedom of speech. Which is totally UN-American!

  • @channelswimmer BTW, look at "Republican" and "Democrat" as two different management styles for protecting the rich and stealing from the middle class. Democrats appear to protect the banking cartels while it appears that Republicans represent the defense contractors like haliburtion. Sit down with your fellow American brothers and sisters. Do not call us names because we have a difference of opinion. We all love this country, but have different ideas about it. No reason to call anyone names.

  • @kwilhelmy Fair enough. I agree. I'm actually not a 'rah-rah' Republican. I am certainly a right-leaning conservative, but I don't identify with the Republican party. They are all phony, scumbag politicians fucking us over in the end. It's like two different gates leading to the same slaughterhouse. How many tax dollars did Bush waste again? I would hardly call him "Republican." Sitting down with 'my fellow American' isn't so easy anymore...do they speak English? Not in my neck of the woods...

  • I had several comments censored that were critical of the Dalai Lama (and the Chinese occupation at the same time) and the system of Lamaist theocracy (that was the language I used). I also posted a (meta-) comment, observing that all my DL-criticial comments had been censored --- which, unsurprisingly, was censored, too. I can still post, but am considering just closing my account since I consider it a worthless exercise if all I am allowed to do is confirm Ms Huffington's prejudices.

  • Yes, I've deleted 2 accounts there now in response to their censorship. It was a harmless post I was attempting and I know it was being censored because I posted on some other articles and they were posted. It was either a moderator or a huffpo blogger or both and the only assumption to be made is they did not like being called out on an issue that was blantly true.

Is there a website anyone knows of where folks can get together and perhaps discuss any course of action that might be taken?

  • here is another trick they use.You post something and you get a message which says something like "this post is pending approval and wont be displayed until reviewed".Then the post stays in limbo for hours and then they let it post but it goes back to the time you posted it so it's back on like page 20 of the posts at that point and wont be seen by 1/10 the amount of people that it would have been seen by if it went through like it was supposed to.The site is a joke as far as free speech goes.

  • Huffpost censors me all the time! I've seen posts on there with the f word and wishes for former VP Cheney to be executed and those posts seem to be ok yet My posts which are merely politically to the "right" with no offensiveness to them are blocked more than half the time .Currently I cannot post at all and my emails questioning this remain unanswered.I'm going to start videoing this censorship and put the videos on youtube to expose these clowns. Freedom of speech , my butt !!

  • I've blogged for over two years now at HuffP and I am censored all the time. I'm very respectful in my comments, yet so many are not posted. Example: It is almost impossible to criticize Joe and Mika (on the Morning Joe show), and I complained all the time, with no response. Then, an article, with pics (on HuffP), showed Arianna Huffington hosting a party, at her home, for Joe and Mika, so that explained that!

  • You are not alone. I've created a blog to document the ridiculous censorship that I and others have experienced. Its called bannedfromhuffpo d0t blogspot d0t c0m

  • same here. comments are censored when using expletives, sure, but also when writing opinions too controversial for ... yes, for whom I wonder.

i wonder why they bother though, since comments usually get buried quickly under legions of other comments.

  • I just got banned after 500 posts simply for questioning 911. They removed all of my past years comments and won't let anyone from my ISP comment again. Screw them. They are censoring anyone who questions the official story on anything controversial. I suggest everyone register and leave comments questioning any official government theory you dont believe.

  • I've had about 33% of my comments censored there (around 10 out of 30 submitted). I rarely comment, except on issues that I feel informed about, so the comments tend to be barbed and critical. They never include any swearing, threats, etc., anything that I believe could justify deletion if they were simply judging posts based on their stated moderation policy.

  • @spiked105

The latest example is from this article:

How to Give Yourself a Metabolic Tune-Up, By Mark Hyman, MD

Here is my comment, which was censored:

"Why is your whole article written like a giant advertisement for your center, which doesn't even have a Wikipedia page? Links to things like "hormones" and "omega-3 fats" should lead to third-party sources like Wikipedia or a WebMD article...

This is partly why Huffpost Health is so sketchy."

  • @spiked105

I submitted it once again, after it was deleted the first time, to make sure the censorship wasn't accidental. Both were deleted. Like you, I've e-mailed Huffpost before asking for an explanation and never got one.

  • nader paul kucinich gravel mckinney

no free speech at huffington post

  • i just got banned because i posted saying a majority of people didnt agree with the official account of 9/11... oh... and perhaps because i spammed their censors calling them fuckheads..

    both facts are true.

  • If you say anything that isnt perfectly polite, non controversial, and uncreative you have bo chance.Arriana doesn't want to mess up her access to ABC Sunday Morning. She's a fraud, why won't she take on 9-11?
