  • Kid youre going to ruin your radio running it on a mobile antenna without any ground plane.....

  • whut is up yo dawg

  • I never really liked the squelch but use it ounce or twice

  • I not much with the ten codes but am good with the lingo.

  • What you need is a good 12vdc. 3amp power supply.

You also need a good antenna. The antenna you are using is made for mobile perposes only and will not work without ground plain(car, big peice of flat metal).

You need a good base antenna for in house use.Three choices Buy a base antenna for it from Radioshack(very expensive),make a homemade dipole or yagi antenna from wire and different around the house ,or umm...its...to hard to do the last one. Also pick up a SWR meter.nice beginnerradiothough

  • Sponge Bob Square Pants!!!!

  • son.you dont have any ground plane for your mag mount(something metal to stand it on ) try mounting a half wave dipole on an exterior wall (high up ) its easy to set up.. the centre core of the feeder (50 ohms coaxial cable) connects to the top element or transmiting element and the outer braid to the ground plane or lower element this is the cheapest type of antenna some of them are pretuned so dont require vswr adjustment ideal for a begginer just mount it on the wall best wishes adrian (uk)

  • wow i got the same exact antenna and cb in my car for highway emergency services

  • its a shitter

  • you need a groundplane for your anttena otherwise your swr will be to high and could damage the radio

  • your not suposed to put it in the car, you could run up to radio shack and get a 12volt power supply and connect your cb to that and make a base station but make sure you get a big antenna and put it up in a tall tall tree or buy a tower

  • congratulations!

  • hi there firsly you need to swr your antenna if you havent already if you have a poor swr then you wont get further than you back door and could fry your radio try putting the mag mount on some metal away from obstructions in a open area like other poeple are saying try chnl 19 [ut a call out for a radio check
