I think the study out recently that showed that Scots drank less than the English was based on average weekly intake of alcoholic units. Scots average 11.6 units per week and the English 13.7 units, just pipping the Welsh at 13.5 units. Maybe some professor should rake through all the bins in Scotland and England and count how many empty bottles he finds in each.
