My sister was born early and she almost died, she stayed in the hospital for over a month. I wouldn't know what to do with her. She is one of my best friends as well as my oldest sister. I'm lucky to have two of the greatest sisters.

My mom was in a car crash because she got hit by a drunk driver, this was while she was pregnant with me. I was born late by a month. When I was born I wasn't breathing because I breathed in water while coming out of my mom. Since I have been born 11 people have died in my family, 2 were murdered and 5 were sudden. I was born to an extremely abusive and controlling mother. When I went off to college, I ended up having to end the relationship with my mother to remain sane enough to finish class. The more college I attended, the more I realized that I too had problems. Just recently I have been diagnosed with major depression and schizophrenia which I inherited from my mother. I'm a survivor in my own special way.
My aunt is a survivor... she ot pregnant at 16 year old and found out one of her twin babys had edward syndrome.. she ggave birth to the otehr one 5 days early while the one with edaward syndrome died... the baby had to go trhough survery and he turned out fine.... but he had asthma... my aunt had a sever reaction to this and almost died of a disease called Antri something... but shes 29 and is living a heatly life with her husband and 13 year old sun.. who still has some heart problem. SURVIVOR
i'm a survivor... i was born 3 weeks early..when i was 3 days old my parents found out the i had Tricuspid Atresia...when i was 6 weeks old i had my first major surgery which was putting a B-T Shunt in...when i was 6 months old i had my 1 open heart surgery...then when i was 15 months i had my 2 open heart surgery...by the time i was 2 i had 6 heart caths,2 open heart surgerys, and a B-T Shunt...i was told that without all this i would live 3 years...15 almost 16 years later i'm still here! <3

I was born almost 3 months to early. My cord was wrapped around my neck not once but three times. I was never in my moms tummy, I was on my mom's chest. I was born 2 months too late. The doctor gave me a week I was 9 lbs on the dot but I was weak. I grew up without a chance. Cancer, diabetes, asthma, and anemic. Thats my family problems, I grew up anemic and had asthma problems when I grew up. I go to school everyday and get made fun of, but do I care???? NO, why because IM A SURVIVOR!!! Thats why. When I was 4 years old my uncle died in a car accident. Back then I didn't cry cause I didn't know what was going on. Later when I grew older I understood everything. Now whenever I hear that story of my uncle, I bust out in tears. Although, I know he is in a better place. He was good son, uncle, cousin & even more. He was a big lost for everyone in my family. Years past on, & my grandmas mom died like a month ago. She was another big lost. It sucked cause I didn't even get to meet her. :'(
My mom is a survivor, maybe not of Cancer(doctors found it soon enough) Maybe not of premature birth, no problems like that.. But, When I was a kid, She delt with battles no mother should.. She delt with her kids being torn away from her, she delt with abusive husbands, she delt with drugs, she delt me being me, Worst of all, When I was in 5th grade, she was kidnapped, beaten and raped, torture for 3 days before help showed up, she was minutes away from death.. she's still with us.. I have a story that I'm writing and the main character's big theme song sort of thing is this song because she's divorced with a baby and a toddler son, the dad left and they can't find him, and she's a police detective who lost both parents at 3 years of age. She's a survivor. :D
I was born at 27 weeks. The doctor told my mom I had a few hours maximum to live. Told her to say her goodbyes. With many many problems, including 3 stomach viruses. I was sent home at 1 year and 9 months . My heart stopped 3 times while I was in the hospital. Right now, I'm in remission for Leukemia. I'm a survivor.
I stopped trying so hard to fit in, then suddenly it was alright. By being just a little bit less afraid,I made some of the best friends in the world. There are still loads of people who hate me for no reason,but I truly don't care anymore. I am looking forward to my prom next year, I will look amazing and prove to them that they never broke me. I'm a thousand times better than them because I am myself and I'm not afraid to be me.

my mom alwyas had kidney prolems, the docter said she couldnt get pregnant.. when she did she was shocked she went back to the docter he said he meant she SHOULDNT get pregnant. becase there wasnt a good chance of either one of us surviving. I had trouble breathing a couple days after i was born & had to have open heart sugery. & was in the hospital for 1-2 months. my mom now goes on dyalisis. & luckily i dont take ANY midicine. i am now about 2 be 16, and i plan on becoming a singer!

@1993littlesister thanks! umm at first i thought pop rock you know? like avril lavigne, but then i decided just regular pop. ive always liked country and i got obsessed with watching the cmt channel. and reba pretty much made it clear that country is what i wanna do. or maybe ill just sing a bunch of different genres. im not sure. but country is my choice right now.
@Zabeeality Either way you will Succeed. A lot of singers are mainly one genres but go ahead and do a mix. You got what it takes on any day, and you can and will do it.
Well, I was born 2 weeks late, but I stopped breathing when I was only 30 minutes old, and now I have severe asthma, and only irregular heartbeats. I'm an abuse survivor by my dad, who got me pregnant 2 times, once when I was 11 and the year after that when I was 12, my first pregnancy I had a stillbirth, the second one I lost the baby when my dad pushed me down the stairs when he found out, plus I have a disease that makes it hard to lose weight. But I'm a survivor and I am proud of who I am!!

I wasn't born early but I had a husband who walked out and left me with kids to raise alone, when he did show up he was never sober, never gave any support to help raise them, financially or sprirutally, I worked 2 jobs and sometimes 3. We were and are close, I taught my kids as long as we had each other and God we had it all. So yea, I'm a survivor!

I was born with trachial malaysia and a broken collarbone. Now, I'm a freshman in high school, in accelerated science, orchestra, and Spanish, planning to become an author. I've dealt with taunting due to my breathing issues and gotten over allergies and held my head up. I know one day I will be the boss of everyone who bullies me and they will all be wanting MY autograph and be yelling MY name. I know I'll make my family proud.

My friend Alex she was a survivor she was born with Cistic Fibrosis and her mom was told she was not expected to live past 16 well she died June 30th of 2011 to cistic fibrosis she was almost 18 years old. She never used her disease to make people feel bad for her she lived a normal life like a normal teenage girl and she NEVER showed how bad the disease was and she actually wanted to die and not suffer anymore. She told me that a day before she went on life support. She is my HERO & my SURVIVOR

when i was born i had a seizure so i couldnt breath the doctor was saying i had possible brain damage i was rushed to another hospital and put in an incubater for 5 days. after that i was released and my father left my mother and me. after my mother had my brother, it was only us three.it has been tough for all three of us these past few years but we made it through all right. now im 15 and my brother is 14, i have a baby brother who is 1 and a step father. im a survivor.

I lost my baby girl to a man diognosed Bi-Polar, a munipulative, mentally & physically abusive child molestor, because the county screwed up a decade before my little girl said daddy "Peed in her mouth" & wrongfully convicted several people of this crime he got away with it saying I coached my baby. At 4 years old praying to her Father in Heaven she would not have to go back to daddy's house, Her prayer was not answered. I am trying to be a survivor & I pray she will someday also be a survivor.

This really lets me know how lucky I am. My parents still love each other, me, my 3 sisters, and my brother. My dad quit smoking about 7-8 years ago just like that so he could watch us grow up. My mom's a strong Christian woman who would give up anything to see us fall more in love with Christ. 2 of my sisters are my best friends and although it may not always show, we love each other so much.

My little cousin got pregnant by accident from a condom malfunction and she said she would give the child a chance to survive even if she had to give it up for addoption she was going through with the pregnancy. Little Star was born 4 months early on July 1st and is surviving and is doing well, every time i hear this song now I think of her and hope she will be strong-willed and persistent like her mommy and daddy are. im a survivor im 12 and when i was 2 or 3 my dad become a alcoholic and hes still aalcoholic. everyday i hear im a bitch and im just like my mom fat and worthless that comes from my dad and its hard for me and my brother to deal with that my mom is always crying cus my dad says things to her. sometimes i feel like im the only one who has someone in there familly a alcoholic and if you have someone in your familly thats a alcoholic like this so i know that im not alone in this :(

My mom was in a car crash because she got hit by a drunk driver, this was while she was pregnant with me. I was born late by a month. When I was born I wasn't breathing because I breathed in water while coming out of my mom. Since I have been born 11 people have died in my family, 2 were murdered and 5 were sudden. I was born to an extremely abusive and controlling mother. When I went off to college, I ended up having to end the relationship with my mother to remain sane enough to finish class. The more college I attended, the more I realized that I too had problems. Just recently I have been diagnosed with major depression and schizophrenia which I inherited from my mother. I'm a survivor in my own special way.

My aunt is a survivor... she ot pregnant at 16 year old and found out one of her twin babys had edward syndrome.. she ggave birth to the otehr one 5 days early while the one with edaward syndrome died... the baby had to go trhough survery and he turned out fine.... but he had asthma... my aunt had a sever reaction to this and almost died of a disease called Antri something... but shes 29 and is living a heatly life with her husband and 13 year old sun.. who still has some heart problem. i'm a survivor... i was born 3 weeks early..when i was 3 days old my parents found out the i had Tricuspid Atresia...when i was 6 weeks old i had my first major surgery which was putting a B-T Shunt in...when i was 6 months old i had my 1 open heart surgery...then when i was 15 months i had my 2 open heart surgery...by the time i was 2 i had 6 heart caths,2 open heart surgerys, and a B-T Shunt...i was told that without all this i would live 3 years...15 almost 16 years later i'm still here! <3

i have been through so many hard times in my life..... and this was the only song that could pull me out of the depression that i was in.... which lasted 4 years,so im very proud of myself that i got out of it..... when my mom took me to the doctor to see what was wrong with me and he said that he couldn't find anything physically wrong with me but it hurt my family to see me like that so i said enough and i got my friend/ big sister to help pull me thru it along with this song

This describes me to almost a tee. I was born 2 months early, they didn't think i was gonna live and if i did i was gonna be mental slow and a dwarf. My parents were teens and violent relationship. and than both went on drugs and abandoned me. left me to different people, abused abandoned. my cusin was born four and a half months early because my aunts body had begun to shut down. my cousin, she was born around three and a half pounds with her lungs still developing. she made it and is now three years old. she and my aunt are the only ones in my state that have survived something like that. my other cousin was four pounds when she was born and almost killed her twin because of it. im proud to havemy cousins as survivors. and dont believe me if you dont want to. i dont mind

I was born almost 3 months to early. My cord was wrapped around my neck not once but three times. I was never in my moms tummy, I was on my mom's chest. I was dead when I came out, I wasn't breathing. According to my mom my dad went over to the doctor's table where I was and yelled at me. I know your probably gonna call me a lier and tell me that I'm just wanting attention, but I swear this is true. I'm blind in my right eye, I'm 15 and don't even weigh 100lbs and guess what I AM A SURVIVOR!!!!!

I was born 2 months too late. The doctor gave me a week I was 9 lbs on the dot but I was weak. I grew up without a chance. Cancer, diabetes, asthma, and anemic. Thats my family problems, I grew up anemic and had asthma problems when I grew up. I go to school everyday and get made fun of, but do I care???? NO, why because IM A SURVIVOR!!! Thats why. I used to think there is no hope and that the more I deal with people making fun of me the weaker I become, but truth is it only makes me stronger.

I dont have a sad story like you all. My grandma died when I was young and it took me three years to stop crying over her. I met a guy who I spent my freshman year with and he cheated on me. I met another guy who used my lonelyness to play me. He cheated on me. I met another guy who I fell absolutely in love with and I lost him to his ex. When I was 4 years old my uncle died in a car accident. Back then I didn't cry cause I didn't know what was going on. Later when I grew older I understood everything. Now whenever I hear that story of my uncle, I bust out in tears. Although, I know he is in a better place. He was good son, uncle, cousin & even more. He was a big lost for everyone in my family. Years past on, & my grandmas mom died like a month ago. She was another big lost. It sucked cause I didn't even get to meet her. :'(

I was born at 27 weeks. The doctor told my mom I had a few hours maximum to live. Told her to say her goodbyes. With many many problems, including 3 stomach viruses. I was sent home at 1 year and 9 months . My heart stopped 3 times while I was in the hospital. Right now, I'm in remission for Leukemia. I'm a survivor.

I stopped trying so hard to fit in, then suddenly it was alright. By being just a little bit less afraid,I made some of the best friends in the world. There are still loads of people who hate me for no reason,but I truly don't care anymore. I am looking forward to my prom next year, I will look amazing and prove to them that they never broke me. I'm a thousand times better than them because I am myself and I'm not afraid to be me.

my mom alwyas had kidney prolems, the docter said she couldnt get pregnant.. when she did she was shocked she went back to the docter he said he meant she SHOULDNT get pregnant. becase there wasnt a good chance of either one of us surviving. I had trouble breathing a couple days after i was born & had to have open heart sugery. & was in the hospital for 1-2 months. my mom now goes on dyalisis. & luckily i dont take ANY midicine. i am now about 2 be 16, and i plan on becoming a singer!

Well, I was born 2 weeks late, but I stopped breathing when I was only 30 minutes old, and now I have severe asthma, and only irregular heartbeats. I'm an abuse survivor by my dad, who got me pregnant 2 times, once when I was 11 and the year after that when I was 12, my first pregnancy I had a stillbirth, the second one I lost the baby when my dad pushed me down the stairs when he found out, plus I have a disease that makes it hard to lose weight. But I'm a survivor and I am proud of who I am!!

I wasn't born early but I had a husband who walked out and left me with kids to raise alone, when he did show up he was never sober, never gave any support to help raise them, financially or sprirutally, I worked 2 jobs and sometimes 3. We were and are close, I taught my kids as long as we had each other and God we had it all. So yea, I'm a survivor!

I was born with trachial malaysia and a broken collarbone. Now, I'm a freshman in high school, in accelerated science, orchestra, and Spanish, planning to become an author. I've dealt with taunting due to my breathing issues and gotten over allergies and held my head up. I know one day I will be the boss of everyone who bullies me and they will all be wanting MY autograph and be yelling MY name. I know I'll make my family proud.

Well I was born a week early and the cord was wrapped around my neck but if I would have died so would my mom. After that mom started having bad pains in her side and its been that way since I was born. My mom hurts,I lost my grandmother,my uncle is dieing b4 my eyes,my dad works 24/7 but hey IM A SURVIVOR. Cancer,blood preasure,and diabetes is my family problems. OH and at school theres a rumor that im sucidial but im not and yet stupid people believe that..they needa get a life!

i was born 2 weeks before i supposed to be. my mom's umbilical cord was wrapped around my neck TWICE! when i came my dad says i was black and i only made a squeak. but i'm a survivor!

wow theres alott of sad stories on here & everytime i read 1 i cry:( my brother was born 3 months early and had a heart problem .. his heart was too big<33... he wasnt expected to live past 3 months but now hes 18 & hes a marine:) i have the best big brother in the world:)<333

My friend Alex she was a survivor she was born with Cistic Fibrosis and her mom was told she was not expected to live past 16 well she died June 30th of 2011 to cistic fibrosis she was almost 18 years old. She never used her disease to make people feel bad for her she lived a normal life like a normal teenage girl and she NEVER showed how bad the disease was and she actually wanted to die and not suffer anymore. She told me that a day before she went on life support. She is my HERO & my SURVIVOR

i was born two months early and have heart problems. everyone said i wouldnt be able to live a normal life and i wasnt suppose to make it past 14 years old and i am now 19 years old and was on track and field. i am quite proud to be a survivor

I wasn't born late or early,but with 3 years I had some medical problems,I don't have it anymore but it can return,so I need to beware..Before 3 years I had problem,I didn't hear good,but now it's ok,and before 2 years I had problems with my eyes,I need do some exercise that don't come again so..I think I'm survivor!

i have 2 twin daughters ad im 17 years old my oldest daughter has autium and my youngest daughter has athsma and i lost 86 percent of my blood having them im a survier

This song reminds me of my mom, she did nothing but fight to have everything that we had as kids. And just when she thought her fight was over she back to were she started but no matter what she just keeps going. If i can be half the mom and women she is then i will be proud to say i was a part of her life <3

when i was born i had a seizure so i couldnt breath the doctor was saying i had possible brain damage i was rushed to another hospital and put in an incubater for 5 days. after that i was released and my father left my mother and me. after my mother had my brother, it was only us three.it has been tough for all three of us these past few years but we made it through all right. now im 15 and my brother is 14, i have a baby brother who is 1 and a step father. im a survivor.

15 years i went through, being beaten, neglected and i was told i was a mistake. my mom never loved me, she hated me AND my dad...when i turned 10 i realized i had to get out of that house..away from her...but i didn't get to leave..she found out i was gonna run away to live with dad...now im 16, i live with my dad and my step mom and i have an amazing boyfriend that i love with all of my heart. i am a survivor <3

My mom had me when she was 25 weeks, I was in a incubator for 4 and a half months and the vicar came out out to give me my last rights because they all thought i was going to die, But i'm here now 14 years later, "I'm A Survivor" :')

I'm pretty sure this song was like MADE for my mother, I love the woman to pieces. I honestly don't know what I would do without her. She has been through so much she was in and out of foster care, grew up in a drug addicted home, moved all the time, had no friends, she was raped. But she is my idol, despite all of that. She isn't an alchy or drug user. She had to work 3 jobs for my brother and I. Oh geeze. I just love her. <3

I lost my baby girl to a man diognosed Bi-Polar, a munipulative, mentally & physically abusive child molestor, because the county screwed up a decade before my little girl said daddy "Peed in her mouth" & wrongfully convicted several people of this crime he got away with it saying I coached my baby. At 4 years old praying to her Father in Heaven she would not have to go back to daddy's house, Her prayer was not answered. I am trying to be a survivor & I pray she will someday also be a survivor.

This really lets me know how lucky I am. My parents still love each other, me, my 3 sisters, and my brother. My dad quit smoking about 7-8 years ago just like that so he could watch us grow up. My mom's a strong Christian woman who would give up anything to see us fall more in love with Christ. 2 of my sisters are my best friends and although it may not always show, we love each other so much.

My little cousin got pregnant by accident from a condom malfunction and she said she would give the child a chance to survive even if she had to give it up for addoption she was going through with the pregnancy. Little Star was born 4 months early on July 1st and is surviving and is doing well, every time i hear this song now I think of her and hope she will be strong-willed and persistent like her mommy and daddy are. I love you Star!

im a survivor im 12 and when i was 2 or 3 my dad become a alcoholic and hes still aalcoholic. everyday i hear im a bitch and im just like my mom fat and worthless that comes from my dad and its hard for me and my brother to deal with that my mom is always crying cus my dad says things to her. sometimes i feel like im the only one who has someone in there familly a alcoholic and if you have someone in your familly thats a alcoholic like this so i know that im not alone in this :(
