i miss the old runescape so much! it was such a huge part of my childhood. i remember playing when I was in 2nd grade.. I also remember someone asking me for 2k and I was appalled because 2k was so much money to me. and I remember I had a friend who I thought was a super high level and she'd give me all these pirate clothes and dwarf clothes and I looked up to her so much :( she helped me out a lot and gave me free stuff. no one in rs is like that anymore.

Im not to sure if any of you feel the same way... but back then... when i bought an item... it wasnt say, just a rune platebody... it was MY rune platebody... I did everything with it.. and when i sold the item... i just felt like a peice of me was missing... :'(

I remember when I was in fifth grade and Runescape was really fun and popular I had made my own "general store". My classmates had a little catalog to look through and purchase items from me on Runescape. I enjoyed these years so much and I honestly miss the good old days.

I really liked the old rs because there wasnt Bots or hackers to near the extent that there are today. I actually got hacked the day i got my vetrens cape, (2 days ago). my bank is now cleaned and i am pretty fed up with the runescape community. I spent 5 years to get 50m, and lost in a minute. pretty lame.

Runescape has always been one of those games that no matter how hard you try to quit you always come back to it. Some thing about it always pull me back in, it's probably those earlier memories we all have for the game. When were a noob and everything seemed so new and and the world seemed so big. Now that i've grown up a bit I've realized that with out these memories and the friends I shared them with I would probably have put this game down a long time ago.

@YZisme If we could get rid of the botters, I would gladly go back to Rs. But... I mean, which skill is worth levelling now? Consider about half of RS is botting.

I recently tried to play RS. sad to say, I started botting after a while. On a way, I am glad I did, as I understand botters enough know to find them anywhere.

I then made a new character and... well, It took me a few days to get to level 10 in the combat skills, since everything was botted >.<

I can't explain it very well, i hope people kinda understand. Back in late 06 when i started getting into runescape, it was about friendship, mucking around having fun with skills going to mean as drops in varrock west bank. Buying rune opposite varrock west bank, the amulets being sold in the little room next to the anvil. But now. It is grinding, powerleveling, making your way to the top without enjoying the process. i guess i just miss old rs. Hope they make something like an 07 remake :)

That's almost exactly how I feel, too. I think after a few years I became so enchanted by high-ranked players that it became my only goal to be one of them. I altered my play style, and in turn altered how I felt about Runescape. Playing mini-games or "Hanging out" started to feel wrong and inefficient. I think, for me, it came to a boiling point when I set out to achieve 200m construction xp. After 40m, I just couldn't handle it anymore and stopped.

Oh yh and btw, there's gonna be an '06 remake called RS2006.net I was a bit weary at first, you know, just incase it's a virus or whatever, but it's looking very good and there's a lot of other people in the forums waiting for it as much as we are (old rs players like '02-'06) Mod Vault, the owner of RS2006, is in the process of making it. @TzKet4m Bad thing is, you can't enjoy the progress anymore. Runescape wouldn't even be a good game anymore ifthey good rid of the bots and the modern issues. The only good runescape was pre-2007 because they kept it simple. Just like cod4 vs mw2, the earlier stages of a game were the best before it started to sellout. I'd do anything to play runescape like it was in november 2007 just for a day
