we hail from a 5000 year old civillization when mobiles/internet wasn't around to help people to learn abusive terms, and there was no requirment for one language either. Every area/region florished within its own boundaries, art and science developed everywhere and were understood in the local language as well as Sanskrit, the purest language..

Since one month, I've had hundreds of experiences which have made me have an altogether different attitude towards tamil people.They plainly laugh at north indians when we speak hindi, make fun of us, don't help us in any way at all, confound us if asked for anything.

I literally am willing to learn tamil because its easier to communicate with locals, bus conductors, etc. We really don't make fun of tamils, maybe when a south indian goes to north, he finds himself cornered by hindi speaking people and feels intimidated, but trust me mate, I think conditions of north indians in TN is much worse than the other case.

I learnt it when I was in chennai, since then I know how to befriend tamils and I have always found them very hospitable. and as a result I have got a liking for idli sambhar and dhosa now..I really enjoy them.
