The hold by LT #69 (Khalif Barnes, I believe?) is blatant and right at the point of attack. I don't know how the refs missed it, and I don't know how any of you could be missing it. I don't blame Barnes. If he doesn't commit the hold, Harrison nails Garrard in the backfield and Pittsburgh wins. It's on the refs to call it.
As a Steeler fan I hold no bad feelings about this game. I can look at the 2 holds on the game clinching play and brush it off because I know that the Steelers made many mistakes and dodged some fouls earlier in the game. It was not decided by 1 play. The only reason for me to use this vid is to show/ prove people wrong that claim that SBXL was fixed in favor of the steelers. Ya the refs blew the game but they blew it in both directions. I believe that Hines Ward got a pass interference called on the jags, despite the fact that he had his hand in the defender's facemask and was pulling him to the ground that resulted in a touchdown the following play for the Steelers. This "bad call" only helped get us a field goal. Touchdown = 6 points. Field goal = only 3. We still played better than you.
There definitely was holding. But the fact is that on the Steelers previous drive there was a PI penalty on Brian Williams when Hines Ward had his facemask in a vice grip and twisting it. It was after a 3rd down play too, the penalty gave them a first down which led to them taking the lead. It should've been fourth down with the penalty and the whole thing should've never happened in the first place.

Teh hold on haggins was an actual hook that took him to his knee as he was about to sack hasselbeck, the Offensive pass interference was text book, Extended arm, gained seperation and if a DB does the same it's a flag.

Second, there was a play earlier in the game in which Hines Ward grabs a Jaguar defender in the endzone and pulls him down which resulted in a pass interference call and a first down for the Steelers at the 1 yard line. I believe that Hines Ward got a pass interference called on the jags, despite the fact that he had his hand in the defender's facemask and was pulling him to the ground that resulted in a touchdown the following play for the Steelers. This "bad call" only helped get us a field goal. Touchdown = 6 points. Field goal = only 3. We still played better than you.

There definitely was holding. But the fact is that on the Steelers previous drive there was a PI penalty on Brian Williams when Hines Ward had his facemask in a vice grip and twisting it. It was after a 3rd down play too, the penalty gave them a first down which led to them taking the lead. It should've been fourth down with the penalty and the whole thing should've never happened in the first place.

Teh hold on haggins was an actual hook that took him to his knee as he was about to sack hasselbeck, the Offensive pass interference was text book, Extended arm, gained seperation and if a DB does the same it's a flag.
No way jackson catches that ball with out the push.
The low block call was bad but we got slammed in the back on that same play with no call.

So what if it was a little bit of holding. First, that kind of hold happens on almost every play. Second, there was a play earlier in the game in which Hines Ward grabs a Jaguar defender in the endzone and pulls him down which resulted in a pass interference call and a first down for the Steelers at the 1 yard line. If you want to be nit picky about it, Steeler fans have to remember that gift too. If you ask me, it evens out.

jus because it wasnt within the tv scrren doesnt make it phantom . the tv isnt pointed at every player on the field and i will also add, sometimes refs give out wrong numbers, we see this happen 1 out of probably 3 games . refs can miss calls by not seeing them, but they just dont throw out calls that never happen , they call them because they see them . jaguars beat the steelers and you'll just have to learn to live with it .

I usually will try to understand what a ref saw on a holding call but the one on Mahann was flat out a no hold.
They so it up close and Mahan maintains his hands within the frame of the body.
Had the great catch by Hines stood for the 2 points we would have trailed by 3 not 5.
Therefore on our next TD we would have only had to kick the PAT and lead by 4 instead of trying to go up by 3 on another failed 2 pointer which kept us up by only 1.

When the Jags came to be they had the expantion draft so from the time they have been in the NFL till now vs the time Noll took over the worst team in the NFL in 69 is about equal in terms of how long it took to win a SB.
Noll took seasons through the draft to win his first ring.
Jags have played 13 seasons with the expantion draft to started plus all the reg. drafts and free agency without one SB appearance.

The refs came out publicly and said they missed the 'hold' call...end of discussion. However, though that was huge and was the immediate cause for the Steeler loss that didn't lose the game for them, it was more so the 29 points as we allowed the Jaguars to just score at will on our defense. what I am proud of though, is that we had key injuries and weren't at full strength and STILL we were only a missed hold call away from beating the Jags.

Sean Mahan (Steelers' center) was call for holdening when ALLL angles of replayed showed a clean block.(We threw a TD on that play but it was called back) The announcers admitted they were puzzled at were the holding was at. That extremely obvious Hines Offensive interference made up for the Mahan holding call. Nothing made up for thr obvious hold the Faguars commited on that game ending play.

There was no holding on the 2 point conversion play. That was a bad call against Pittsburgh.
Then, There was no Defensive interference on the Hines Ward/Brian Williams play.
I think those two cancel out.
Missing holding by a more than one blocker on the game deciding play is unacceptable.
You can't blame either team for what the Referees called. So I really don't know why yall act like lil kids....

Brian Williams face mask was also being held by Heines Ward inside the 10 yd line and they called the penalty on Williams. The penalty gave the steelers a first down which led to a TD. Jaguars won with their blown call. Why couldn't the Steelers? Steeler fans are just insecure because the Jags have beat them four straight times.

I think there were some close calls but the blocks are all within the rules and it would have been a bad call to call holding. If linemen keep their arms in "frame" of defenders then it isn't holding. 69 let go just in time.

It's funny how every steelers fan was talkin shit about the Jags, sayin how they weren't going to win, then the jags go to pittsburgh(in the snow) kick the shit out of them, come back a few weeks later and win again. Then all the steelers fans start trying to blame the game on a hold that didn't even happen, and then after they look like complete asses for that, they say something stupid like "we have 5 super bowl rings, where are yours" Eat shit,how many of those rings are from after the 80's.

Jacksonville blew gynormous leads and just barely escaped both times against Pittsburgh. You can only get lucky so many times.
2006 game, now that was a beating.

Ward's facemask would have been a major penalty, not a minor. They wouldn't offset. It would have been Jacksonville's ball.
