yes his stats r pretty similar...garnett has 1 more steal a game, 1 more rebound and 0.3 less blocks than pau (and same points). so i would say from this that kg has better stats, but if u say they are dead similar then the team defence should be taken into account especially since players in paus and garnetts positions r team defensive organisers...boston kept opposition to 90ppg and 42%fg, whilst LA 101ppg n 45%fg for the season, which is more indicative of defence than 1 series with the hawks

To me Pau was the reason the Lakers made the Finals. Kobe help to, but the main reason the Lakers made it in my opinion was Pau. Made Kobe gm alot easier n made everyone else better to. Comparing the two of Pau n Garnett. Garnett is a good player but he wasnt the reason the Celtics won the title. Paul Pierce was the main reason for that n Allen was consistent in the Finals more than KG was. Garnett was given the Defensive player of the Year for no reason. No way he was better defensily than Howard, Dalemert, Amare, Duncan etc. No way. I can prove that to. The NBA give awards away these days without value. Not like it use to be. But this is just my opinion tho.

Its simple to me why Garnett isnt on the list. Pau Gasol was more valuable than Garnett in my opinion. Sure both made it to the Finals, but Pau also was a huge factor in the Olympic Games. Pau has won a gold there n nearly beat the U.S. this yr as well. So he played for two of the biggest prizes in one yr. So to me he had the better yr than Garnett. Dwight all I can say is a beast. Won the Slam Dunk contest with a genius list of dunks, rob of Defensive player of the yr, made Magic better.
