I just figured you were a Mooney guy aka Republican, and I went to a rival school, the f bomb wasn't appreciated, so I criticized your school and your coach, it was deserved after that particular game. And are you referring to Bob Stoops as the other good coach to come from Mooney? I'm not aware of any others, and Stoops hasn't won a big game since 2001 really.
As of right now, Stoops is the best of the bunch. He may have won just 1 national title, but OU is always in the hunt every year. His brother Mike was a solid coordinator, but doesn't seem to be making much progress as a head coach. Bo Pelini did a fine job in every stint he had as a d-coordinator and will turn NU around (they'll probably finish 8-4, much better than the previous 5-7).
No problem with the f-bomb, I'm just not a big fan, do you think it will be a success going 8-4 even if you got totally destroyed by other good/rival teams, not being smart either.
Absolutely. 8-4 is much better than 5-7, especially with the current cast being leftovers from the Callahan Era. They're good athletes, they just lack the smash-mouth psyche that used to be in the NU player DNA.
Mizzou thinks they're our rival. That loss and the OU one are the only ones where we were flat out overmatched. But the Va Tech and Texas Tech games should have been wins.
Bo's a smart guy, just short tempered. Just more like Devaney instead of Osborne.
Bo's brother Carl is a good assistant coach, but I doubt he'll ever be in the front-running for a big time coaching gig. And NU running backs coach/ former KU WR coach Tim Beck is a pretty good coach. He knows how to recruit in Texas, hence last year's successful season for KU football.
I saw NU using a very vanilla defense against WMU. They should come crashing in with the LB/S blitzes against either VT or MU. Pellini is already a 10,000X improvement over Cozgrove.
Orangeafroman, you seem to know quite a bit about Rome for someone who doesn't like him and claims that "nobody genuinely likes." I see some positive comments about him here. A bit of overstated hyperbole, perhaps?
Rome is a chode whom nobody genuinely likes. He repeats himself constantly, to word his statement in a clever way. He's redundant and pseudo-cool. When his fame is over, he'll be one lonely guy.
I swear from 11-2 I get NOTHING done because my radio is turned to Jim Rome. The VERY BEST sports talk show out there, and the keyholder to the City of Omaha. And, his interviews are top notch, such as this one.
Shawn Watson will run his version of the West Coast Offense. At Colorado, it was a spread that revolved around the strength of the personnel. So in other words, no more passing on 3rd & short.
true. I believe our Offense was ranked 9th this year and Ganz comes back. We should score a lot of points. How quickly will Bo get this defense fixed is the question.
I'm an LSU fan and I'm glad for Pelini to get his chance to be the head coach and at a very great program such as Nebraska, all class with great tradition, fans and culture. Pelini will once again restore the blackshirts and bring that swagger and attitude back to the D and I think that will drastically improve the team as a whole...
biobio903 I know that Kansas was better this year but if you look at the program as a whole Kansas is a poorman's Nebraska. That is an insult to think Kansas is in the same hemisphere as Nebraska

This is Bo's first year with cosgrove/callahan (notice the lower case) recruits.
Plus, Mizzou has the greatest team they've ever fielded in their entire history. They have a very good team.
Hey, we gotta let the Tigers win a couple of games lol

What does McCain have to do with this? And seeing that some pretty good coaches have come out of that school, I wouldn't say that Mooney sucks.
