  • "Who gave us half a roll?"

  • @DickieAnginson "I'm eating the other half"

  • "I'll try anything once."

    "Except sex!"

  • Why is it always near the same amount of people that dislikes the video?! If you dont like the vid, dont watch it and go to something you think you will like. This film is awesome and the fact that some twirps wants to go around disliking every part of this video just shows that they know how to push a button that gives off bad credit. go to another vid if you dont like this one! dont follow it up till you dislike every part sheesh.

  • @Subsquentual or you could calm down and enjoy the good movie instead of whining about 10 people out of 328. jussayin

  • @UhntissUhntiss93 thats what i thought when i read his comment lol

  • A bunch of cute guys sitting around reading poetry…there needs to be more of this in our society, lol

  • @batb844 thats another reason why its called the dead poets society...

  • i had dirty thoughts when he said, "I wanted to live deep and suck the marrow out of life." ;D

  • 4:37 my gosh it look like a lumberjack convention in there!!! get some different shirts guys haha jk

  • I'll second that

  • That old guy would have a hernia if he knew they snuck out

  • "Oh Captain, My Captain ?" haha. lol.

  • this film is so fuckin lame man, no sex, no injecting drugs, no rape scenes, no violence, no nazis.. WHAT UTTER SHYTE

  • @annabatarowicz some people don't need sex and drugs to be in the movies they watch. I would say some of the best movies that exist don't have those in them.

  • I saw this film in the theater, and until today, hadn't realized that the actor who plays Pitts is the son of Sam "Jack McCoy" Waterston! He looks just like his dad!

  • *Neil reads one poem*

    Dalton - "Alright intermission."

  • i love this movie!!:D

  • whyy cant there be hot guys like this at my school :LL

  • @ashleeLA because the boys at your school arent all hand selected actors picked for looks charm and ability

  • "I'll try anything once" "except sex" haha

  • BATHROBE NINJAS!

  • Thumbs up if you think this school is like Hagwarts :))

  • @Tomboy4933 i think you mean hogwarts...... lol...

  • @borntoolate23 yes, I'm not English... . sorry for my mistake .

  • An english teacher at my school is Robert Sean Leonard's sister!

  • "No mr. Whitman it wasnt just GUYS. We werent a greek organization. we were romantics! We didnt just read poetry... We let it drip from our tongues like honey. Spirits soared, women swooned, and GODS were created gentelmen. Not a bad way to spend an evening eh? Thankyou mr. Perry for this stroll down amnesia lane. Burn that. Specially my picture."

  • "The dead poets were dedecaded to sucking the marrow out of life. and the phrase we would always invoke at the beggining of every meeting: You see we would gather at the old indian cave and would take turns reading from therrol and whitman and shelly. The biggies... Even some of our own verses. and in the enchantment of the moment we would let poetry work its magic."

  • What does Todd say? the reason why he didn't want to go to the 'meeting'?

  • @secondchild0011 He doesnt want to "take turns reading". He's really shy

  • Does anyone else think Robert Sean Leonard has the perfect voice/reading skills for poetry recitation?

  • funny how this would normally be a movie i wouldn't go anywhere near. I just happened to watch this movie one night after years of knowing about it, just never actually seeing it, I really turned out to appreciate this masterpiece. Much respect to all the actors in this film.

  • I love the music they play in the background as the boys are running to the cave!!=)

  • hahah how nice. everyone in plaid patterned PJs

  • somehow neil reminds me of dawson from dawsons creek lol

  • cool

  • wasssup

  • I love this!

  • What is he always whistling?

  • @Renaissanceish 1812 Overture.

  • @KillYourFriends100 Thanks.

  • I would swoon for Charlie Dalton :P

  • "YARRRRRGH I'm a dead poet!"

  • "Why do they swoon? Charlie, TELL ME WHY THEY SWOON!"

  • @mrsgeeway80 ROFL hahahaha XD so funny

  • ii saw this movie in english class

  • When i first saw this movie, and saw who played Neil, i unashamedly squealed "Wilson!<3"

  • Does anyone know the name of that 9/8 song that starts when they leave? I feel like I've heard it elsewhere.

  • i love the way that guy said im in XD i forgot his name

  • @LillyChic101- His name is Charlie Dalton- Nuwanda :)

  • I'M IN.

  • @PickleBeaver "I need help."

    Yes, I think you do.

  • @MissAbiLulu thank you for taking my sarcastic quote out of context. Anyway, I'm obviously just being a trolling asshole, so either don't take me seriously, or learn to deal with it.

  • "RAHHHH I'M A DEAD POET!!!!"

  • Toddd is soooo cute and soooooo hot!

  • "Charlie tell me why the swoon!!"

  • I think Todd has social phobia.

  • @ginnyxwotsit no fuckin shit.

  • @PickleBeaver Well, some might say he's merely shy...but if you have it, you know the signs.

  • @ginnyxwotsit oh yes, I suffer from a crippling level of shyness. That;s why I hide behind a computer screen and point out the obviousness of idiotic people's comments. I need help. Oh mercy me, will you be my saviour? WIll you show me the way, oh chosen one? Obviously it is you who knows me so well and therefore can help me the best. Give me a fucking break. Honestly, it;s not like his shyness is a subtle message in the film. Actually wait, it is subtle. Subtle as a croquet club to the face.

  • @PickleBeaver Take your unfriendly attitude elsewhere.

  • @PickleBeaver Oh and by the way, when I said "if you have it, you know the signs" I didn't mean YOU. I meant me. I should have said "if one has it, one knows the signs". I'm sorry my "idiotic" comment has caused you so much anguish.

  • does anyone know if the awesome throatsinging taht starts around 4:48 is real or fake?

  • I've never seen so much flanel

  • @7FredFredburger7 lol. and that's a good thing.

  • I know the Opening bit is from Thoreau's Walden, but I just tried to find it, and was not successful. Anyone happen to know where that critical quotation is in the text?

    Life is the best.

Viva Montaigne- the greatest man to ever live.

  • Charlie Dalton is truly the Ajax of the group.

  • @anythingnew and I love him for it :)

  • 6:33 scared the crap out of me.

  • @jesslivinglife

Reminds me of Bush joining the skulls and bones to worship satan.

  • @anythingnew how do you figure i didnt see any of the guys fuck a sheep

  • @ohweloveeverton

Idk, but it's something about rich white kids in the woods wearing robes

  • Comment removed

  • @zackhanscom go fuck yourself...honestly, thats such an immature comment.

  • @zackhanscom do you hear yourself? first of all "this is homosexual" is very offending. second, I am a teenager and all GOOD teenagers DO act like this. deal with it.

  • "We were romantics. We didn't just read poetry, we let it drip from our tongues like honey" Holy shit. I felt that one. Williams is a beast.

  • "I'll try anything once." "Except sex." hahaha

  • I love Neil. He's like, mega cute and super sweet, especially to Todd. =) I think I might start watching House now, LOL!

  • RSL is *still* cute. ^^

  • Agreed =)

  • @MewMinto34 He's the reason I started watching House! XD Yay for Neil!

  • @MewMinto34

His character is pretty much Neil grown up, still sweet, overly-caring, and absolutely adorable. :D

  • @MewMinto34 he gon die

  • @MewMinto34 I love Neil. He's such a sweetie. He's just so genuine! (AND I'm proud to say Robert Sean Leonard is THE reason I started watching House!)

  • @MewMinto34 I mean, how could one watch this movie and NOT be enchanted by him? ;-)

  • Please don't tell me that Gale Hansen ends up playing a banker somewhere

  • @DiegoElArbol He ended up doing nothing.

  • que pena q este en español, acuerdense que hay latinos viendo tambien youtube.-

  • I'm from Hungary but that doesn't mean they should upload this video in hungarian too... Learn languages, it makes your life much easier!

  • @Jacuzzi03 thats so true..

  • They say hungary is the hardest language for an english speaker to learn...

  • That's probably true.. For an english speaker everything is hard the grammar, the pronunciation, the words..

  • @RideTheLightning8 try Chinese

  • @RideTheLightning8 no arab is becoz there are many extra letters.

  • @Jacuzzi03 and i´m from argentina... here i am... that's a great advice jacuzzi03.

  • @Jacuzzi03

    Bravo!

  • @Jacuzzi03 yea, I want to spend my time learning every language so I can watch all the stolen movies I want in my own country. On top of everything else I'm learning for biomedical engineering. Sounds like fun! What language should I learn first.... HEBREW!

  • @hospitalbedpan1 then stop complaining and rent the movie?

  • @Jacuzzi03 teljesen egyetértek veled! (:

  • I think Mr. Keating and Mr. Hundert from "The Emperor's Club" would've made terrific friends

  • good thought but mr keating is and was always better!

  • "To discover that I have not lived" I love these boys just starting to discover what it is to live..the wonder, the magic, aaaahhhh.. I loved watching Neil's joy come alive.

This is one of the best films as it embraces what it is to be alive. If we lived by our hearts, our potential, and not our heads, just imagine! Oh the sheer joy.

  • If we did that Judyrusso the world will collapse because people will not be able to see anything better in their future. We will stagnant and grind to a halt.

  • All would be good if we'd principally strive towards Judyrusso's utopia (for inpossible, unfortunately), with in our minds d3v1llad1sc3wl's common sense of how people work. We would most likely end up somewhere halfway, which is already significantly more promising that we've ever been able to establish. Damn right sheer joy :-)

  • Robert Sean Leonard (perry) ends up playing a doctor in House.

  • Another cast, Josh Charles ends up playing a lawyer in The Good Wife.

  • demerits was a joke, every time i got one i laugh an threw it away, (memories what a good laugh HAHA)

  • AHHHH IM A DEAD POET!! lol

    i love Charlie

  • Hager rocks

  • what do they mean by "thigh man?" i;ve heard it has a sexual meaning, but that clearly wouldnt be what they mean here, as no high brow school like this would ever have that in a senior annual. any insights?

  • i always thot that he wasnt a leg man,or a breast man, but a thigh man lol but its true-no way a prestigious school would put that in there wood they?

  • They meant Phi man. As in the fraternity.

  • no, that's not it. this is a private high school, so he couldnt be in a fraternity when he's only graduating from high school. in any case, keating was bound for cambridge, not an american school, and i dont think they have the greek system. anyhow, how would phi be relevant.

  • Thank you for correcting me. It must be a club then.

  • Neil is so cute! :D

  • Who is in ? I'm in . Me too .

What is this awesome music ?

  • "Wait a minute! Who gave us half a roll?"

    ROFL

  • fun fun fun!!!

the puzzle story was a bit creepy...

  • i'd go for midnight anything!!!

  • Awesome movie! :D

  • "I'll try anything once!"

    "Except sex."

    xD

  • if you think of the dead poets society it was much more "un"common than it would be today... sure some would think its lame.. but in that time using it like that was out of question because it was new thinking and old guys didn't like that ;)

  • awesome film!!

  • Watching this part of the film and hearing this score reminds me for the first time that this is an 80's film.

Before, it always seems so recent, still.

Hearing the score as they rush into the woods, it has a very 80's vibe.

  • i think it's the keyboars

  • yeah, maybe

  • sorry, keyBOARDS

  • Recap: In the end, the administration and Cameron talk as if Keating is the one responsible for sending them off to do their thing. In a way yes, but that's a good thing. But if you think about it, it was really Neil who drove them to do it, not Keating. Keating could have had a productive relationship with them, without them re-starting the Dead Poet's Society. The fact is Neil had a history of free spirited action before meeting Keating. Keating really wasn't that responsible in Neil's action.

  • They werent really intrested in finding the one 'responsible' for Neals actions, they merely wanted a scapegoat. And Neal and them are the ones who asked, Mr Keating merely asked a question Charlie was the freespirited one Neal was just trapped

  • "I say we go tonight." I love that! Kind of like saying this is REALLY important. Let's do this NOW.

  • "Sir? Oh Captain, my captain?"

    "Gentlemen?"

    Love that! ^_^

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah and I really want to have a teacher who'd let his teachers call him, "Oh captain, my captain! " ^_^

  • "Charlie, tell me why they swoon!"

  • "WHA I'M A DEAD POET!"

  • "No shit Sherlock!" :P

  • i love ethan hawke in this movie. =)

  • lolz we watched this in class i wont forget what 1 persons comment was

"Whoa badass white boys sneaking out of school to read poetry"lol

  • I wish i could

  • me too me too

  • why am i getting a thumbs down?? do you guys honestly think people are thoughtful these days? i wish people would do something like that

  • uh i disagree, i go to coffee houses and we read poetry there, me and my friends go to parks and read poems, sing songs, i know of a poetry group at my school, yeaah plenty if people do gather and read poetry

  • I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately

  • lol "Charlie! Tell me, why do they swoon?!" classic

  • Every time I watch this movie I can feel the poetry come to life inside of me, writhing, and turning, twisting like some golden snake, trying to unwind itself and find its way out into the world.
