Spiritual warfare is the next step for a spirit-filled, born again overcomer. It is one thing to believe the promises of God, but an overcomer steps into the ministry of Jesus... doing what He did, and even 'greater works than these'.
The devil is really just an idea, a thought in our minds. Something which we as human beings have created. Its just a fearful thought, and fear and love don't mix. Fear is painful. How to live without conflict with yourself and others. Not bringing these ridiculous notions of "spiritual warfare".

@freedoms01 I was raised a Catholic, I don't feel I am out of my element.I still feel the fear of damnation that was instilled in me as a youth growing up in a Catholic school. Yes, conflict.Spirituality is about seeing the unity in all things,not about stirring up thoughts of war and conflict with the devil or demons. The Church ulitmately needs the devil. Imagine if for a second there was no devil, would we still need the churches telling us to be afraid of him, to be in conflict with him?
@Juanster23 i was catholic too... the more my spiritual eyes were opened the more warfare i encountered w in the church, and God showed me it's not about being 'in a box' but a right heart b4 Him. He glady removed me from that 'structure'. i find the scriptures are very accurate upon testing them; other religions boast precepts from the scriptures but will not acknowledge Jesus. and simply... those precepts are in effect for believers or non regardless. unfortunately the bible states that...

"you're stupid, ugly, worthless, guilty, and should just kill yourself because there's no God to help you or any afterlife and life is meaningless" are all tormenting thoughts which plague most of humanity as we speak. the devil is real and he's a thief, liar and murderer...the Bible is right. i listened to his tormenting lies for most of my life...becoming a Christian and putting on the armor of Scripture saved my life.

The devil is crafty beyond all creatures in the garden, so it is very important that we listen to what God has personally told us to do, rather than to impersonal rumors or social norms. Not an easy road, but the most joyous. When we go to battle, we must remember that God receives all of the glory. We fight for the Lord's holy name's sake.
