You should be using the Electric Mistress, I'd kill for one of those, not to mention the Tube Driver. No BK Butler in Australia. Stuck with a BD-2 which is good don't get me wrong but i'd love a tube driver. I would also recomend a Digitech Whammy for Marooned.
Nice job, but its the wrong idea, the idea is to seperate the pedals theu a main buss and mix the signals dry rather than chaining. You get a titally different effect, Such as a main buss and leads to lurn on and off effects thru a dry chain.
Why don't you use a voodoolab powerbrick ? It is perfect for Old vintage japan like the CS2, TC. Electronic, all 9v, 18v and 24v old or not ! And it is very silent. 200$ea, you should buy 2 or 3 (8 out by one unit)
No, I don't care for the CS-2, actually (besides the fact that it's not even a chorus pedal). I'm hoping Boss reissues that baby blue wonder box used to make what many consider to be the most gorgeous chorus sound ever produced by a stompbox! :S Ibanez did it w/ the TS-808, so why can't Boss do it w/ the CE-2 (or DD-2, or '78 DS-1)?? If the price was right, I know I'd certainly buy one, and I'm sure a LOT of other people would too!
Hey, I have a green label Ce-2, I found velcro mine but did not want to damage the label. I found by unscrewing the bottom plate and flipping it, I had a smooth surface to attach the velcro to, aswell as preserving the label.
I admire the attention to detail here, it must have been quite an effort to get this all researched and put together. And, I understand that is part of the fun, of course. BUT after a signal runs thru that many pedals...how much actual tone is left? The "Money" solo tone I'm hearing is mid-heavy, muffled and completley lacking any attack. I'm no purist; I think you'd get a more convincing tone from a Line 6 with a good amp simulator. Again, no offence intended...just an opinion.
@MARSHOMEWORLD It was recorded at low volume. Tone sucking is acceptable / not a big deal running up to 10 pedals! But I understand your point of view ;-)
@wareaglebabe11 Yeah you're right, perhaps he recorded it himself in a hurry or something happened to the mix? Giving him the benefit of the doubt. Or its his interpretation of the solo (to kinda make it his own?)
cause you'd think that someone with that kinda set up would be a gilmour purist.
@Joesnouty yeah i agree, probably a quick recording, still the pedal-board is sick... hes off on the bend pitches and in timing i doubt it was him and if it was probably just a bad day you know
ha pink floyd london on the flite case and i thought i was the biggest train spotter lol nice to see another floyd fanatic out their such as myself nice pedals m8
with that much tanks, the cables must have cost more than other peoples pedalboards. you should carry that board to a pro shop and test the voodoolab pedal switcher and use it for the non true bypass pedals. I promise you would be amazed. And looking at your cabeling, you do take sound serious.
I have 2 questions, why don't u have de cs-3 and the dynacomp in the chain? they're essential in gilmour's '94 era tone...And, What is the difference between the Sovtek big muff you have out of the chain and the two clones that are on the pedalboard?? and the difference between the two little ones....thnk u very much...your pedalboard inspires me!
as good a player as DG is, he's a real ass. i worked for PF back in the 90's doing undercover bootleg security. DG wanted us to pull the bootleg shirts off of his fans back, so they would have to buy an official merchandise t-shirt.
I can't understand how someone doesn't have a wah-wah pedal in a collection that big, or ever. haha. Im starting my collection, I have Cry Baby wah pedal. I have Rock Distortion from DigiTech. I also have a Digital Delay from boss. Great pedals!

It is a really great pedalboard, but I imagine that eps dont make the guitarist good or worse, and like I said, Show up this will not make him better. And he's not doing his style, he's trying to copy david gilmour, who is a genius!
Then, I want to ask you if at the timeof setting my pedal kit; is it important the order of it?

I would start without one. Just don't use too many pedals,
But you could google for a pedal switcher.
jdiuurdfsds 2 years ago
Hello!
First able, your videos are excellent.
Then, I want to ask you if at the timeof setting my pedal kit; is it important the order of it?
I have order these:
BOSS CS-3 - MXRDY Dynacomp; Ibañez CP9; IPS 33B pitch shift; BOSS MZ2 Metalizer; Pete ; Uni VibeCornish; Pro-Co Rat; BK. Butler Tube Driver Big Muff; BOSS CS; 2 BOSS G7; Uni Viber; Electric Mistress.
Yulhas 2 years ago
Yes the order is inportant.
Basically:
Compressors
FUZZ / Distortion
Overdrive pedals
Modulations
(EQ pedal)
DELAY
Also I would use less pedals in chain (I have about 10) or use a pedal looper / switch system.
jdiuurdfsds 2 years ago
Hey what would you say the 2 most used/important distortion pedals on that chain?
aconk99 2 years ago
1. Tube Driver (OD or distortion)
2. Big Muff Ram's Head BYOC
jdiuurdfsds 2 years ago
Thanx for sharing . when you used your DE-7 did you use it for delay or echo , and what settings did you prefer . Cheers
ozzycriss 2 years ago
Mostley Echo, you can see some settings in my older clips. Or google for gilmourish for DE-7 settings.
jdiuurdfsds 2 years ago
can you explain the purpose of having two Tube Drivers please?
and to get the basic gilmour tone, would this suffice:
Tube Driver
Electric Mistress
Small Stone
Compression (please recommend a specific pedal)
Big Muff (please recommend a sepcific model)
I'm on a pretty tight budget so that means no pete cornish or vintage big muffs like a real rams head or triangle.
hillbillygenius72 2 years ago
Just different settings; I don't use them together.
Basic Gilmour would be:
BOSS CS-2 or Demeter Compulator
Ram's Head Muff
Tube Driver
CE-2 (he did'nt use it lately)
Delay (like Replica or a DE-7 / cheaper)
jdiuurdfsds 2 years ago
thanks, are those legos on the pete cornish?

MXR Carbon Delay?
EHX Electrix Mistress?
Max.
richardsmamma 2 years ago
First, I would go for a Delay:
DE7 (cheap, but nice considering the price)
MXR Carbon Copy (Nice analog delay)
DD2 (Nice digital delay, vintage pedal / E-Bay)
T-Rex Replica (Very good, but a bit expensive)
Second, maybe some modulation.
Pups are an important issue too.
jdiuurdfsds 2 years ago
Why so many power supplies? Cant you just use a 1spot for some of those pedals?
basscajon 2 years ago
Actually, I have 1 PS for for the Phaser + Chorus.

(I guess, I don't want to risk any extra noise)
jdiuurdfsds 2 years ago
Little tip for your boss pedals (I just got a Tubescreamer that i didn't want to desecrate in the same fashion): The label in the bass is indented by 1mm or so, leaving the outside rubber footprint. Attach strips of velcro to this part of the foot; that way you can velcro the pedal to the board without damaging that fabled black label...
I did it to all my boss pedals (TU-2, RC-2 and an old CE-3) and they hold perfectly in the case, no problems at all!
