  • You should be using the Electric Mistress, I'd kill for one of those, not to mention the Tube Driver. No BK Butler in Australia. Stuck with a BD-2 which is good don't get me wrong but i'd love a tube driver. I would also recomend a Digitech Whammy for Marooned.

  • the GE-7 works wonders!

  • in good order

  • Spare pedals? ill take some! hahahaha..

    rocking board man! very cool.

  • it looks like you're building a time machine.

  • Are you playing guitar or launching the shuttle?..

  • any suggestions on a good pink floyd delay?

  • А зачем два TUBE Drive???

  • joooo ziek pedaal ding man!!!!!!!!!! vettt ik ga zeker subscriben jonge!

  • If that Pete Cornish ng2 ever becomes a spare pedal, id be glad to take it off your hands :)

  • DUde too much Ac's Try a Power Supply Like Voodoo Lab power supply it wont affect yur sound in any way !!

  • Judging your accent you are from The Netherlands :-) Just like me b.t.w.

    Fijn bordje hoor!

  • @nickveekens Yep, bedankt ;-)

  • do you put the modulated effects through the fx chain or is this one long chain?

  • @jakeyboy2929 One long chain before the amp.

  • line 6 ddl4 or replica?please response?

  • @aPROSARMOSTOSMIAZOI T-Rex replica all the way

  • I want a Cornish !!!

  • Comment removed

  • how much did this all cost?

  • Nice job, but its the wrong idea, the idea is to seperate the pedals theu a main buss and mix the signals dry rather than chaining. You get a titally different effect, Such as a main buss and leads to lurn on and off effects thru a dry chain.

  • why need so many pedels, i got one its a harley benton, are those any good, its serves me well.

  • Why individual wall-warts instead of something like a Pedal Power?

  • @Tibbon I guess I have enough space on my board ;-)

    Pedal Power would be OK.

  • @grzana2429. Because he is loaded. He needs to buy a tuner though, the whole thing is sharp.

  • mooi pedalboard heb je daar, ziet er goed uit!

  • @RythemGuitarist Thanks ;-)

  • i dont see any mr. cry baby there...

  • Would you be able to create a tutorial of how to make that pedal case? Looks great.

  • Even your spare pedals would make a killer board. Nice. Great homemade case.

  • Why do You own 2 Tube Drivers ?

  • @grzana2429 Because Gilmour uses two tube drivers: one as clean signal / Booster and the other as overdrive

  • Why don't you use a voodoolab powerbrick ? It is perfect for Old vintage japan like the CS2, TC. Electronic, all 9v, 18v and 24v old or not ! And it is very silent. 200$ea, you should buy 2 or 3 (8 out by one unit)

  • @MrFloyd4

No, I don't care for the CS-2, actually (besides the fact that it's not even a chorus pedal). I'm hoping Boss reissues that baby blue wonder box used to make what many consider to be the most gorgeous chorus sound ever produced by a stompbox! :S Ibanez did it w/ the TS-808, so why can't Boss do it w/ the CE-2 (or DD-2, or '78 DS-1)?? If the price was right, I know I'd certainly buy one, and I'm sure a LOT of other people would too!

  • Hey, I have a green label Ce-2, I found velcro mine but did not want to damage the label. I found by unscrewing the bottom plate and flipping it, I had a smooth surface to attach the velcro to, aswell as preserving the label.

  • BOSS, REISSUE THE CE-2, PLEEEEEEEEAASSSE!!!

*sigh* Anyway, pretty nice video... and yes, I envy a few of your pedals... quite a lot:)

  • @yobhsiFehT Maybe you are tlaking about the CS-2

  • omg give me some of these.

  • you want to play guitar or you want to be david gilmour?

  • did you get the pete cornish pedal off his website?

  • @TacooGrill Yes I did, but be prepared to wait about 12 months or longer, before he build you a pedal...

  • Leuke solo op de backingtrack Ernest! Groetjes, Anthony!

  • @madcapx Hey Anthony, bedankt.

Weer tijd voor een jam-sessie ;-)

  • I admire the attention to detail here, it must have been quite an effort to get this all researched and put together. And, I understand that is part of the fun, of course. BUT after a signal runs thru that many pedals...how much actual tone is left? The "Money" solo tone I'm hearing is mid-heavy, muffled and completley lacking any attack. I'm no purist; I think you'd get a more convincing tone from a Line 6 with a good amp simulator. Again, no offence intended...just an opinion.

    Best to you.

  • @MARSHOMEWORLD It was recorded at low volume. Tone sucking is acceptable / not a big deal running up to 10 pedals! But I understand your point of view ;-)

  • Great gear, well done.

but where did you get the 'money' track playing in the background? The phrasing of the solo is really off in some places.

  • @Joesnouty and the tone is lacking clarity kinda muffled

  • @wareaglebabe11 Yeah you're right, perhaps he recorded it himself in a hurry or something happened to the mix? Giving him the benefit of the doubt. Or its his interpretation of the solo (to kinda make it his own?)

cause you'd think that someone with that kinda set up would be a gilmour purist.

  • @Joesnouty yeah i agree, probably a quick recording, still the pedal-board is sick... hes off on the bend pitches and in timing i doubt it was him and if it was probably just a bad day you know

  • @Joesnouty to be a Gilmore purist would require about 50k dollars.

  • ha pink floyd london on the flite case and i thought i was the biggest train spotter lol nice to see another floyd fanatic out their such as myself nice pedals m8

  • @pinkfloydman123 How about joining the Gilmour Gear forum. Even more fanatics ;-)

  • How your pedals are connected? Where in serial and where in parallel?

  • @albertank all serial, besides the tuner.

  • @jdiuurdfsds Many thanks! :o)

  • @albertank Welcome :-)

  • where are you from? your accent is intersesting (no offense). by the way, your gear is awesome

  • @Teutonic1250 Thanks ;-)

  • Thanks for the very nicely produced video. Do you have the chorus before or after the distortion?

  • @1Doz Thanks; the chorus is after the distortion.

  • ok, but the set up on your video, is the way you made it or it's like Gilmour's one?

  • @bgtocak ; These are typical Gilmour's settings. DG changes settings himself, depending on his mood (like the TD used for OD).

  • The set up on tube drivers, is it the way you like it, or it's the same as David Giloures one?

  • @bgtocak: both ;-)

  • Damn, just get a 1 spot power supply.

  • with that much tanks, the cables must have cost more than other peoples pedalboards. you should carry that board to a pro shop and test the voodoolab pedal switcher and use it for the non true bypass pedals. I promise you would be amazed. And looking at your cabeling, you do take sound serious.

  • Thanks! Yes maybe I will (although I have not much loss of signal / have some good buffers in the chain).

  • but david uses a phase 90 or not??

  • Yes, he did.

  • why have 2 big muff pi clones when you have a real russian big muff right there?

  • This Russian version isn't my favourite Muff. The Cival War Muff version was better. (Actually I use one right now!).

  • i had an old 70's EH big muff back in hungary, and i left it there when i left in '87. didn't know how good it was.

  • Yes they do sound very good...

  • damn, awesome setup. a pete cornish and 2 tube drivers. this rig was not cheap

  • you need a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power!!!

  • Thanks, in the back of my head I wondered were you got the case, now I know you made it yourself, great work.

  • nice english bloke;D

  • I have 2 questions, why don't u have de cs-3 and the dynacomp in the chain? they're essential in gilmour's '94 era tone...And, What is the difference between the Sovtek big muff you have out of the chain and the two clones that are on the pedalboard?? and the difference between the two little ones....thnk u very much...your pedalboard inspires me!

  • Thanks!

I simply like the Demeter Compulator. (DG uses one himself since 2006).

This modern Softek Muff doesn't sound as good as the Rams Head or Triangle.

I now have a Softek '90 Civil War Muff clone in my chain. Great Pulse tones!

  • as good a player as DG is, he's a real ass. i worked for PF back in the 90's doing undercover bootleg security. DG wanted us to pull the bootleg shirts off of his fans back, so they would have to buy an official merchandise t-shirt.

the best live sound i've ever heard though.

  • I guess he doesn't like people making money by using his name.

  • interested in a T-Rex replica. Do you like it? Sounds good to me. Thanks

  • Haha this is the solo of Money (pink floyd).

  • Money

  • nice gear. DIY rules!!!

  • I can't understand how someone doesn't have a wah-wah pedal in a collection that big, or ever. haha. Im starting my collection, I have Cry Baby wah pedal. I have Rock Distortion from DigiTech. I also have a Digital Delay from boss. Great pedals!

  • great stuff

  • how do you combat the signal loss with all of those effects and cables?

  • this vid is redics...too funny!

  • That mustve weighed a ton to lug Round. Plywood warp in time especially when you're out on the road alot.

  • Yes it is heavy (25 KG = about the same as my Fender Combo).

I use some plywood with little wheels to go on the road...

  • Sorry, can u write your name here ?

dident get it in the video lol

  • it's Ernst

  • I wouldn`t want to be Gilmour with this wacko stalking me.

  • thats awesome! well done dude!

  • tc electronic phaser and proco rat dist ? your flight case calling their name.

  • Shit im drooling. How much did you pay for each of those tube drivers? Very nice though

  • Sorry.. but.. what is your name? i can´t understand! :s

  • why do you have two tube drivers?

  • Because Gilmour uses two tube drivers: one as clean signal / Booster and the other as overdrive.

  • Thanks for the answer. Would you use them simultaneously then? Driving/Boosting one overdrive with the other?

  • No, just makes it easier (not changing gain etc.)

  • Hi,one question: boss bf2 or deluxe mistress for modern stuff...? Thanks

  • Don't know anything about BOSS bf2 ...

Mistress is good for DG WALL sound (end 70's - begin 80's)

CHORUS is better for a more modern DG sound. ('80 - '90's).

  • Thanks!!!

  • Excellent collection. I want to sound as much like David Gilmour as possible when I solo. What pedals would you recommend I start with?

  • Thanks...

    BK Butler Tube Driver.

    And a Delay Pedal.

  • That's a lot of pedals! How much did all that cost?

  • your pedalboard is great!! but if this money solo was u playing, u should get better, many of phrases is out of time, like if u wasnt listening the backing track.

  • So what its only a solo

  • Can u imagine Gilmour sayin that? It is only a solo?

  • yes but this guy is not dave

he putting his style on it

it does not all need to note for note

  • man, he played NOTE BY NOTE, but out of time, u have to agree with me, even his pedalboard case have pink floyd write on that. C'amon man! He tried to make a cover in this solo, but to my ears it sounds wrong in some parts, out of time like I said and only a deaf dont notice it. A guy with a pedalboard like that, using the same equip from david's doing it wrong, I cant belive, just that.

  • It is a really great pedalboard, but I imagine that eps dont make the guitarist good or worse, and like I said, Show up this will not make him better. And he's not doing his style, he's trying to copy david gilmour, who is a genius!

  • Thanks, but the amp exit, the first cable will go to DELAY and the last to compressor and then to the guitar.

And finally, can you tell me some links about "use a pedal looper / switch system"?

  • I would start without one. Just don't use too many pedals,

But you could google for a pedal switcher.

  • Hello!

First able, your videos are excellent.

Then, I want to ask you if at the timeof setting my pedal kit; is it important the order of it?

    I have order these:

BOSS CS-3 - MXRDY Dynacomp; Ibañez CP9; IPS 33B pitch shift; BOSS MZ2 Metalizer; Pete ; Uni VibeCornish; Pro-Co Rat; BK. Butler Tube Driver Big Muff; BOSS CS; 2 BOSS G7; Uni Viber; Electric Mistress.

  • Yes the order is inportant.

    Basically:

    Compressors

    FUZZ / Distortion

    Overdrive pedals

    Modulations

    (EQ pedal)

    DELAY

Also I would use less pedals in chain (I have about 10) or use a pedal looper / switch system.

  • Hey what would you say the 2 most used/important distortion pedals on that chain?

  • 1. Tube Driver (OD or distortion)

    2. Big Muff Ram's Head BYOC

  • Thanx for sharing . when you used your DE-7 did you use it for delay or echo , and what settings did you prefer . Cheers

  • Mostley Echo, you can see some settings in my older clips. Or google for gilmourish for DE-7 settings.

  • can you explain the purpose of having two Tube Drivers please?

and to get the basic gilmour tone, would this suffice:

    Tube Driver

    Electric Mistress

    Small Stone

Compression (please recommend a specific pedal)

Big Muff (please recommend a sepcific model)

I'm on a pretty tight budget so that means no pete cornish or vintage big muffs like a real rams head or triangle.

  • Just different settings; I don't use them together.

    Basic Gilmour would be:

    BOSS CS-2 or Demeter Compulator

    Ram's Head Muff

    Tube Driver

CE-2 (he did'nt use it lately)

Delay (like Replica or a DE-7 / cheaper)

  • thanks, are those legos on the pete cornish?

  • yes :-)

    just to cover my name...

  • Budget Gilmour Setup (for Wall tones) (as in chain):

Big muff (older the better) (not the black russian ones)

    Electric Mistress (older the better)

EQ pedal to use instead of treble/bass booster

    MXR Dynacomp

    Delay

SOme people argue where to put the compressor. It sounds different in different spots. For current GIlmour tones use it in front. For wall era tones use it right before the delay.

  • With playing like this, you deserve that fantastic tone and case.

    Good work!~

  • Thanks :-)

  • Awsome pedal board mate.

Im a big Pink Floyd fan myself and just started putting my rig together.

    So far i got:

    Fender Stratocaster

    Valve Junior head + Cab

Way Huge Swollen Pickle (Big Muff type of fuzz).

But now im pretty much stuck, im kinda low on funds and I can only buy 1 pedal / month at the moment, so in wich order should I get my pedals to attain some of that Gilmour sound?

    MXR Carbon Delay?

    EHX Electrix Mistress?

    Max.

  • First, I would go for a Delay:

DE7 (cheap, but nice considering the price)

MXR Carbon Copy (Nice analog delay)

DD2 (Nice digital delay, vintage pedal / E-Bay)

T-Rex Replica (Very good, but a bit expensive)

    Second, maybe some modulation.

Pups are an important issue too.

  • Why so many power supplies? Cant you just use a 1spot for some of those pedals?

  • Actually, I have 1 PS for for the Phaser + Chorus.

I never really tested a daisy chain...

(I guess, I don't want to risk any extra noise)

  • Little tip for your boss pedals (I just got a Tubescreamer that i didn't want to desecrate in the same fashion): The label in the bass is indented by 1mm or so, leaving the outside rubber footprint. Attach strips of velcro to this part of the foot; that way you can velcro the pedal to the board without damaging that fabled black label...

I did it to all my boss pedals (TU-2, RC-2 and an old CE-3) and they hold perfectly in the case, no problems at all!

  • thanks for sharing your solution :-)

  • I have a question.....I'm planing to build a Pedalboard....but i dont have more than 400 bucks.....I play stuff like Pink Floyd and LEd zeppelin....can someone tell me what are the neccesary pedals I need for that! Please, I need help....

  • Since you are on a low budget, you can;t get any boutique pedals, so stick with pedals from guitarcenter. You want some kind of an overdrive, a delay and a compressor. Boss and MXR have good priced pedals for those three types

  • Thanks for posting your board and comments. You answered a lot of questions from your earlier "Shine On" post which had 140k views...

Also appreciate the patch cable section. Keep up the great work. Your playing is excellent...

  • Thanks :-)

It was fun making a clip including video, voice and backing track...

  • very very great Pedalboard, thanks for the many information about the tube driver and other Pedels 10/10

  • thanks :-)

  • im considering buying the Cornish G2. Do you use it instead of the muff? Wouldn't the P2 or P1 be better for replacing muff sounds?

anyway, how do u like your G2? My fav gilmour solo of all time is A Great Day for Freedom on Live in G'Dansk. There he used G2 + Tube Driver. I absolutely love that tone, but I don't know if it sounds anything like that when I use it with my gear.

how do you like yours? and where did u get it?

  • Actually for the solo in this clip I use the

G-2. (+ Compulator + TD + Delay and a bit of CE-5 Chorus on the left channel).

I bought it from Pete Cornish directly.

Be prepared to wait at least one year ....

The P2 is a Cornish version of a Muff, with more mid. Pete is not making any P1 anymore ....

  • thanks a lot! i think i'll be getting the P2 and the SS3

thanks a lot for your reply :)

  • It's cool that you made your own pedal case/board, I wish I knew how to make my own. How long did it take you to make it?

Oh, I also like all your pedals, wish I could have a Pete Cornish pedal too.

  • About one week, incl. the painting.

The Cornish pedal isn't that important... a good Big Muff will do the job fine.

  • Nice. I love Gilmour and his special and magic sound

  • thanks!

    ... me too :-)
