Wow, they're building City Center Mall here in your video, and now it's just been torn down. It's just strange to me how something that massive just came and went.... If someone watched your video and then drove by today, they would never even know it existed. Thanks for uploading this!

@itskafka The demise of City Center is truly a sad thing for me to experience. That mall was a huge part of my later teen years. I moved out of the area in '96, and came back for a visit in '06. I was shocked to see the dead mall that it had become, and how dead the downtown area was. Polaris just is not the same to me.

WOW! Great video. I'm an OSU student, i had no idea there was ever a Rax on High Street, haha. Man, it's changed a lot. But Buckeye Donuts was still there, lol, and the Newport hasn't changed at all.

The most interesting thing is that it shows the construction of the City Center Mall, across form Lazarus. Today that mall has been torn down, and looks similar to the scene you show here.

I filmed the same drive--from OSU into German Village-- like two years ago! Like nothing much has changed--except the cars. Christ, cars have changed!

@falstaffswims Quite a bit has changed, but the basic "feel" is pretty much the same now, except for the south campus area which completely changed about 5-10 years ago. When I was in school 1995-99 it was very much like 1988 still. Cars always change. Imagine this same scene 10 and 20 years before 1988. The cars would look ancient!

@LosAngeleno1959 A third of the buildings have different names or have moved. And we decided to take the constant techno music out of Columbus' streets almost entirely.
