of course we all don't speak or understand Greek, but the idea of the ad is that these people care about the food that they grow. We can just take a guess at what they're saying...
I don't mind that I have no idea what's is being said, I still think it's an entertaining ad.
Very funny ad. Typical of what we have here in Australia. I love it, and I'm not even Greek! But after seeing Vasili's Garden many times, this is what they're like! :) I dunno why on earth, Woolies didn't put subtitles on the ad!! Now I know what they said, thanks to the translation here & on facebook.

fuck woolworths and fuck the GREEKs who want anything cut or sliced from the deli....... aye boy you cut for me thin coz im fat and hairy and i suck my mothers dick
What's not to love about this commercial??...This is one of the funniest adverts on the box....my Father's Father had a slightly similar contraption to keep the birds away from their vegetables...and also one for local cats to stop them from climbing onto the roof, when the cats tried to jump onto the ledge to climb onto the roof, the guttering piece which was made of bits of timber would come away and fall on them!!!...Haha...it was very funny...and he was Welsh-Australian by the way!!!
I know that is Greek. My mother's family is Greek and all of them understood what was being said. I typed in what I remember of the translation that my mother gave me and someone else corrected me.
I assure you. Ask anyone who speaks Greek, the translation is correct ;)
Thanks SO much for adding the translation. This is our nr.1 fave right now and we're wondering what they mutter about every time we see it : ) Totally love her way of exclaiming 'StavRO, StavRO' at the beginning!

This song is pathetic lacks any real substance and borderlines on making people insane. For gods sake Woolworths put some effort into your hopeless ads and music.
The Company has notorious reputation for its tough budgeting and poor treatment of employees as I think heavyweights like this business should face more tougher union demands on there management group.Racist ad it should be pulled
As a Greek Australian i can tell you there's a definate foundation of truth in this depiction of home life. The purpose isn't to offend anyone.
I think your issues aren't with the ad but with Woolworths as a company. Maybe find another outlet instead of labelling things 'racist' to get a point across.
oh the novelty of using weird and wonderful exoticism to sell products! These types of ads create a false sense of familiarity with a particular culture within the multicultural landscape that is Oz, but really it does nothing other than reinforce daft stereotypes.

Maria: Stavro! Stavro! The birds are eating the tomatoes. Do something!
Stavros: I'll do something
Stavros: There I did something
Maria: The birds are gone!
Stavros: Now i can get back to reading my newspaper
Maria: For once you did something right!
I don't speak greek, but this is how a relative of mine translated it. If i am wrong, please let me know.

Stavros: I'll do something
Stavros: There I did something)
Maria: Do something do something!, They'll eat all the tomatoes. Get rid of them, are they gone? well done
