  • was that wetfire you chared it with?

  • what was that thing that was burning?

  • Thanks for the video. Very helpful.

  • i see mate... thats pretty handy

  • what would you need this for? i'm noot questioning you in a bad way that is just wonderin

  • @dogbone222 Lets say your lost in the woods and your lighter is out of gas but it can still make sparks. With charcloth you can use the sparks to make a fire.

  • every time i see a char cloth video the dude doing it has a super faggy lisp!

  • wat did u just strike i need one like that but dunnowere to buy them

  • @lebohusla In the video it was a mangesium fire starter. If you want something just to make sparks like that you can get a flint. I prefer the magnesium fire starter because it makes really hot bright burning magnesium.

  • @lebohusla Look up swedish fire steel.

  • 1 does it matter what size the hole is that u punch and 2 does it do any harm of you pack it in or should you leave it loosly packed in it ?

  • @olipitt12 It shouldnt matter about the holes. I would leave it loosely packed in.

  • Good video. I use char cloth for my fire piston works great.

  • Excellent video thank you !

  • whats that stove called its kl

  • Its an Esbit tab stove. I made a video on it. They go for around $10.

  • Good video, thank you.

  • I used a can of Sterno with a home-made grill to hold the Altoid box over the fire. It was kinda windy, so I sat a med size terra cotta pot (flower pot) over the whole set up. I propped the bottom of the pot on my set of pliers so air could draft up inside. The hole in top of the pot acted as a chimney, and the heat stayed in better. You were right, wait til all the smoke stops coming out of the tin. I could tell by the lack of odor. Anyway, great vid, my first try at char cloth was perfect.

  • could you do this on a grill?

  • Probably if its still inside of the altoids tin. I wouldnt cook food at the same time though.

  • Nice video.

  • Hey ranger.how do you make it without the heat tabs?

  • You can make it with any fire, stove etc. If you dont have a stove just go outside make a fire and put the tin in. Or just go to walmart and buy a can of Sterno for $1. Sterno is a gel in a can that burns for a long time.

  • Would dryer lent be as good, with no prep needed? Mabey lint would burn to fast. Have you tried it? I have not.

  • Do you mean making charcloth with lint or just sparking it? I think the lint would burn faster than charcloth... Sorry Ive never really tried it.

  • yes it can work just i good i have tired it but it burns fast have you burned cotton balls before it is like that only it does not burn as fast as cotton

  • you you dry just 100% cotton clothes in your dryer it will work. If you dry clothes with synthetic thread they will melt the lint into into a blob.

make the vent hole a lil smaller than shown here... Low oxygen is the key to charcloth otherwise you get good ole fire.

  • how long did u have to wait to make that into char cloth

  • In this video it took about 12 minutes to cook that. I didnt cook it long enough so do it a little longer depending on how much cotton you put in.

  • Great video!

  • good video

  • You are the Wilderness Wild Man! Keep with it.
