  • by the look of your beans you could probably close the sieves a notch or 2 and open up the air a little. my only other suggestion is to slow your reel speed down i have a feeling that some of your beans are being beaten off the stems!

  • you really do need to slow your reel down considerably. your beans are shelling out and falling on the ground before they even get to the separator. that = loss of yield.

  • Enjoyed the video. Lots in common with my 1971 Gleaner F. Just finished my big 20 acres of beans

  • You don't need a seperator, your running your reel fast enough to beat all your beans out before they ever get to the combine.

  • nice machine i have a F2 with a 13 foot header i cut about 110 acres of soybeans with it last year good luck to you

  • i just got a gleaner k with a 13ft bean head and two row corn(that has never been used) got it cheap off ebay, this is my first year in soybeans cant wait,i just love the little gleaners, just hope i learn how to use it,great vid

  • it looks like you are have a good crop that year unlike this year

  • verry nice vid!! the other dad i found a Gleaner E all growed up in a tree!!

  • cute lawn mower lol jk jk i actualy would love to drive that verry much idk y but i like the older ones better sutch as our farm we run a JD 9650 and a JD 9500 i like the 9500 more to drive... i can drive eather one i want but i like the 9500 more

  • You have the reel going to fast. It only needs to be going about 10% faster than you are traveling so it doesn't beat the crop before it hits the header

  • awesome video...keep them coming!!

  • This combine cost me $400 and another $300 to fix up. The first load of beans paid it off. It's good for about 10 acres a day and the bin hods 40 bushels so your gonna empty it about every acre or so. It is a cheap well built machine for a hobby farmer like me.

  • @chwilliams5 Im lookin at one similar to urs but its sat out in field for prolly 5 years with no use. the belts are shot and the cab smells like piss from the mice. throttle is stuck and nothing functions rite in the cab any more. He wants 800 for it how bad was urs when u nabbed it???

  • Not that bad. $800 should be field ready or very close to it. Sold mine for $950 in great shape.

  • also how long does it take to do 5 acres of land looking to do 10-50 acres around my place

  • how many bushels does it hold and how much is combine worth love the video we have a cow and chicken hobby farm looking for something like this

  • Congratulations and good luck to you.

  • That's a nice little combine. One of that size would be very good for urban farming, where the population density is in decline. Perhaps one day, the smaller machines will make a comeback. We'll see.

By the way; could you post a video of the combine, without the music? I would thoroughly enjoy the sounds of the engine and hydraulics!

  • Cute video..My father was part-time farmer. My Grandparents where one of the first to acquire a Allis-Chalmers tractors and a Gleaner combine E in my area. The old combine still lives in a retirement shed. It bones are weak and wore out. It still starts and I live the past once in a while.

  • Yea nice little combine don't listen to that asshole gleaners are good combines thats all we use to,we have to L2's one a 1979 with the 426 engine and the other one is 1980 with the 301 they are good machines nice job keep it up.

  • You fool this farmer is probably farming for a HOBBY like my family has in the past and several other people...why dont u go fuck the exhast pipes on your combines and get off...

  • Wow if you only get 300 more acres a day, that aint saying shit for your green pieces of shit. This combine would have to make 10 passes to your one. So like the other guy said go fuck your john deere... but not the exaust pipe.... try the feeder house, Fuck head.

  • He probably paid for that combine with that one load of beans. How many loads will it take to pay off you 9870?

  • Nice! nice little E. Our family runs nothing but gleaner, most reliable, simplest to work on overall, the best combines ever built. (I run a 1978 Gleaner L2, 301 Diesel, hydrostat every summer, it is a lot of fun.)

  • This guy farms 5 acres of soybeans...hes probably doing it for a hobby u dumb fuck so why would he need a better head?

  • Hi, I have a Gleaner AII that I still use on my corn. But I am lookin for a bean header for it. If any one knows where I can get one please let me know.

  • Post on allischalmers com and on ytmag com. I am sure you will find one. Repost weekly to get max exposure. Someone has one out there. Good luck

  • Just Hobby farming. wish I had more land. Love the old equipment. My newest impliment is my JD 494 planter, from the early 70's.

  • looks like alot of fun.good lookin old gleaner.what did you use to plant the beans.and are you just doin it as a hobby?

  • That is a clean, good looking old machine! What size head is that? 10 ft? First time? Expect for the reel turning a bit fast at the start it looks like it went well. Would have liked to have heard it running. :)
