  • T-T I never felt so proud to be a nzlander before. can't believe I live on the same country as these guys

  • Esta musica sirve para conectarse con el universo!! es genial

  • fuckin post rock like this is heaven

  • It is never a nice day for an earthquake. But this music makes living in them that much bearable.

  • good to know some good music is coming out of my country

  • 'wonderful ball of joy'.. love it.

Jakob is my elder brother's band, and i apologise for not reading yr earlier comments... ''Nice day for an Air strike"?? Direct me to..??

  • @Lyrycalytyx Might've missed it since it was down-voted to hell. Original poster listed Sigur Ros' 'Viorar Vel Til Loftarasa' which he then translated it as 'Nice Day for an Airstrike'.

  • @KSCIAA yeah always th comparison to SR..

    Will definitely have a look..

Por favor (i live in rio, brasil) can i send you a song that my 3 brothers composed... my band was signed to (now defunct) Zomba Records.. but this is an unmastered demo... Can I send files via Youtube?

  • @Lyrycalytyx YouTube doesn't have such a feature though you can send it to my email: ksciaa@yahoo.com

What is your intention with this gift? If you just want me to listen to it that is fine but putting it to video is something I cannot promise.

  • @KSCIAA

shit man not asking for any favours! you are clearly a man of good taste, would just appreciate an opinion...

  • @Lyrycalytyx All I wanted to know.

  • @KSCIAA thanx for all the post man, ive been listening to Jakob for hours now could not enjoy a saturday afternoon more. THANX AGAIN!!! :D

  • Youtube "Periphery Godma" You wont be let down...

  • i think "Russian Circles" are better than magwai, i love these 3 songs from them: Youngblood, station, crape. but thats just my personal tastes =)

  • @sucramnormark :O, sorry i didn't read fine your first comment :(

Yeah, both titles are similar :)

  • @pedrok60 lol cheers

  • I've never had better feeling chills going through me.

  • @Youckaify Yeah... I got that way too, and I still do when I play it.

  • one word=

    AWESOME!

  • Only 7,345 views, this is a masterpiece.

  • @ThirdEyeOpen84 Maybe thats why it is.

  • i was listening to this song thinking..meh its ok. but at 3:49 when it kicked in i was just like hell yeah, i now i love this song :D

  • Love this track !!! ! ....the title, it goes so well with my geographic location.. >_>

  • ffs, don't go point out where the climax is in a post rock song... That's like giving away the end of a film. Idiots.

  • Lol, good point.

  • @Jemgrover Haha, what a great post this is.

  • @Jemgrover dude, this is a post rock song -> the climax is after about 10 to 20 minutes of build up.

  • 3:50= epicness.

    Love Jakob so much.

  • SHIT JUST GOT REAL AT 3:50

  • I've been listening to Post-rock / metal etc for years now, love bands like Mogwai, ISIS, Mouth of the Architect etc but I just picked up on these guys, well good. Thanks for the upload dude.

  • cannot wait to see Jakob at the transmission room Auckland in Feb 2010.

  • Sometimes crushed by the emptiness of it all But we refuse to fall down

    So we stand tall

    The silent revolution

    Like a spiritual tidal wave

    it shall wash away

    All hate

    All greed

    The seeds of those

    that plant for war.

  • I dont think Sigur ros will mind these bands both share the same beautiful spirit.

  • I don't see the connection.

  • Say what?

  • @KSCIAA

You total wanker 'don't see the connection?' This song is simply that, a song.

And by the way arsehole if you really need a 'connection' new zealand has approximately 15 thousand earthquakes per year..

    happy? Feel free to reply.

  • @Lyrycalytyx Here you go, you wonderful ball of joy. First, I can plainly see that this is a song. Second, have even read the comment I was replying to? You obviously haven't since you would've inferred that I'm talking about the similar phrasing of "Nice Day for an Airstrike' and 'Nice Day for an Earthquake'. Nothing to do with earthquakes. The title could've been 'Nice Day for an Apple' or 'Nice Day for an Execution', my point would've remained the same. And stow the name-calling, trivial.

  • @KSCIAA eloquence

  • wtf??? now band are being accused of ripping off song titles? get out of here

  • I didnt say it was bad or good. It's just obvious. Since both are post rock bands its not strange that the title inspired them.

    Open your eyes man.

  • hey... Bob Dylan has a son named Jakob.. maybe they ripped there name of of him :O

  • Now you're just being ridicoulous :( a rip-off isnt necessarily a bad thing

  • yeah... I prefer to think of it as a tribute or a homage personally more than a rip-off...

  • @sucramnormark CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG BUT JAKOB ARE A KIWI BAND FROM NAPEIR . ITS AN AREA THAT EXTREMLY PRONE TO EARTHQUAKES , THEY WAS A BAD 0NE IN THE THE THIRTIES OR FORTIES ( LIKE I SAID SOMEONE CAN CORRECT ME ) WE LOADS OF PEOPLE DIED.. I THINK THEY USE THERE SURROUNDINGS TO INSPIRE THERE MUSIC. SO " NICE DAY FOR AN EARTHQUAKE " IS WAY MORE RELEVANT THAN ANY AIRSTRIKE OVERICELAND.

MAYBE THE SIGUR ROS STOLE THAT TITLE FROM BILLY IDOLS , NICE DAY FOR A WHITE WEDDING .!!!

  • the son of Bob Dylan is called Jakob Dylan :O

  • @daviddowns81

Jakob is also a not-uncommon German name. Maybe they ripped their name off from Jakob Boehme, a much more decent ripoff if you ask me ;-)

  • @sucramnormark

Your ear has failed so hard.

  • wow i got a heart-atack when the music suddenly changed!

  • whats mogwai only mogwai i know is thats the name of my dog and its the lil grimlins off of those movies lol but good song by the way

  • Mogwai is another post rock band similar to Jakob and etc.

  • @KSCIAA Mogwai is the mother of post rock, if you dont know them, you dont know post rock. Go check m out!!!! ;-)

  • This song makes me uncontrollably happy. I just can't help it. I like it.

  • Nice to see a colored pic. lol

    Love instrumental as always. :)

  • This is a cool song

  • Another superb song! Thanks! Very strong Mogwai influence (e.g. New Paths To Helicon 1); nothing wrong with that!

  • Yeah KSCIAA, you might really like Mogwai.

    Great song.

  • Wow nice band, never heard of it before though. 5 Stars.
