On the other hand, Saber was originally male with a female heroine as opposed to Shiro. They didn't think it would catch on sales wise, so they flipped the gender roles, making Saber the lady we all admire, and Shiro the knucklehead we envy. Inspiration by Tactics maybe? But if you look at their art design for Arthur, then them ending up with Arthuria makes sense.

@sylvass888stone Excalibur was given to the king by the lady in the lake, Caliburn was pulled from the stone to choose the king. that how i understand it anyway. i can't remember the tale properly, but i think that Caliburn was lost or stolen at some point, which led to the king getting Excalibur

King Arthur preformed an unknightly action which caused Caliburn to break. Excalibur was given to Arthur by the the lady of the lake when she saw he honestly regreted what he had done. Though there was a catch. he had to return Excalibur to her when it was no longer needed.

Sorry people, that isn't Excalibur. look at the color of the sword, and you'll notice that it's actually Caliburn. Excalibur Doesn't have gold coloring running down it's center. this is okay though, seeing as how Caliburn was Saber's original sword and is stronger than Excalibur, it's more fitting for this music.

@EXPRJS Getting really nit-picky on your details here, but Caliburn is not as strong of a sword as Excalibur, as the swords of kings are often lowered to the role of fancy decorations due to being symbols of authority. The cost of being a dazzling sword is that it's grade as a weapon is inferior to Excalibur.
