I hope somebody rearrange all the Double Dragon Soundtrack with real instruments, real drums, real guitarrs and so. even with voices like chorus or something =(
No matter how many times I hear this song, I keep coming back to it. This has to be, without a doubt, one of the greatest video game song remixes I've ever heard in my life, and one of the few I like better than the original song.
The inspiration from the Easy Lover song at the beginning's pretty obvious, but it's a really cool touch. I always liked the intro on the original song, and it's cool how they included that in this song as well.
Yeah, that certain part must have been "inspired" by the Phil Collins song. The real version on the consoles and arcades doesn't have it though. I don't like this version much anyways, it also sounds a bit "soft" and lame.
I like the arcade version best, it sounds a lot grittier and more fitting with a very raw 80's synth sound. I have a part of the arcade version extracted from the rom as wav if you want a link pm me.
If you look at how superior the NES version is, it has a better storyline complete with cutscenes, more levels, and a final boss battle which is really epic!

Please, you NES fan boys grew up with a pale immitation of the real thing. Double Dragon on the arcade is an all time classic game not that Nes pile of crap. Double Dragon is one of the most important arcade games in history.
You know what? Fine. Just calm down. Why don't you play the recent Double Dragon game for the Game Boy Advance? It's called Double Dragon Advance, it's just like the arcade version, but with added features.
Haha my God Superior. Thats like saying Street Fighter 2 on the NES is better then the Arcade.
The DD arcade game was a smash hit which is the very reason it was on NES and every other home console in the first place. It inspired Final Fight and countless other games.
You know what? Fine. There are some arcade versions that are better than some ports, but when it comes to arcade to console games like Guerrilla War and Double Dragon, they are not sh*t!
LISTEN, Look at the GBA remake of double dragon. It was a remake of the ARCADE not the platformer NES version. Even Nintendo know its the best version.
you are right the arcade version of every game are always better. the arcade machines were big computers and it only makes sense they can have better graphics and sound than a little home console. Not to mention bigger games with more memory usage for sprites and levels
Yes that used to be the case, thankfully not anymore. Arcades now are made from PC hardware which is very soon inferior to what someone can buy at home. The fact the NES was so inferior makes it even more irritating when I hear someone say the NES version is double dragon when they didnt grow up with the real thing.
exactly right. Remember TMNT on the arcade vs the NES version, no comparison. Same goes for double dragon, lethal inforcers, street fighters and a lot others. Console versions of these games were still a lot of fun, but they simply cant beat the higher quality arcades.
Did Your Local Arcade Have A Musty Smell Like Mine ? That Was The Neighborhood Arcade, But Downtown's Arcade Was Awesome With A Pizza Parlor Across The Street. The Pizza Parlor Is Still There But The Arcade Is Torn Down I Still Have Tokens Lol
@VideoGamePervert Wow I was born in 1991 & I look back at the years & I missed out on alot of awesomeness, I swear I was born in the wrong era! :( Oh well I'll just have to make the best of now I guess
Thank goodness the good old days have been preserved! You may have missed living them, but I'm glad you still have the opportunity to experience their greatness.
I remember playing DD2 when I was younger and being on this level and just thinking, "why does this music sounds SO familiar!" I didn't even put two and two together until I got older. That's really cool that they payed homage to Easy Lover. Definitely one of my favorite 80's songs.
Holy crap, you guys are right! Even the helicopter ride at the beginning of the music video captures the essence of Mission 2 -- doing battle with thugs jumping out a helicopter, while fighting to hitch a ride on a enemy chopper (at least in the NES version).
To be fair, the Double Dragon series is a ripoff of Hokuto No Ken, and HNK gained popularity in Japan around the time "Easy Rider" was made. Maybe Technos was paying tribute to both properties at the time.
Yes those are nice ones. My personal favorite is track 10 "Roar of the Double Dragon" brings back memories of kicking the ass of the final boss on the "supreme master" difficulty.
i wish todays action movies and game could use soundtracks like this again..
