"Searchin'" is a song written by Leiber and Stoller specifically for The Coasters. It was released as a single on Atco Records in March 1957, and topped the Rhythm and Blues Chart for twelve weeks. It reached #3 on the national pop singles chart.[2]

anybody know who first recorded this song and wrote it? I've only heard the Coasters version at least that's the earliest version I've heard I I think this is a couple of years before the coasters It's great in any case thanks for the posting
