  • I miss the guitar solo from the live in Buenos Aires (DVD)... That one was incredible

  • I could watch this all day

  • A Great Moment in Popular Music! Everyone knew Rick Wakeman's music, no matter what our musical taste were. That's it.

  • Genius, and then some!

  • @vidmon aint it the truth

  • GOD is the Number One... Rick Wakeman comes straight behind him..

  • All bow before Rick's robes!!! LOL... Six Wives of Henry VIII will always be my favorite Rick album -- fantastic to see him live!!! Thank you for uploading!!

  • for me the best rick's piece

  • Bald guy on the bongos would be Ray Cooper, who has played with Elton John, among others.

  • I can't get my hands to stop drumming along to every beat of this.

  • On what kind of minimoog can you play two notes at a time? Probably custom modified model.

  • @marczellm Kenton interface!

  • @ replica Dude..This is the almighty Rick Wakeman! He can play as many keyboards as he wants to ..Bow down you fool!

  • nice coat

  • Sure it looks cool, but everyone knows that when you're playing on a Korg Oasys, you don't need another nine keyboards ;-)

  • @Replica1989 You are so jealous!!!! Any one wish to have all those keyboards!!!

  • @Replica1989

That's what Rudess does. Wakeman is probably too proud to ask Rudess for one Mighty Multidevice Patch-switching Pedal of his. :D

  • @Replica1989 Sometimes you do.

  • this perc guy is everywhere

Bien.

  • Rick Wakeman- What a legend!

Ray Cooper, what a percussionist. Seen him with Clapton

  • ► Wakeman Awesome!

  • Ray Cooper, a legend!

  • The years have not been kind to Rick's face, that's for sure. Still plays well though.

  • @Jackcabbit Hes always looked like a douche

  • @s0bas not a douche... just a very unfriendly ugly guy... even dough Yes said that he was the joker of the band x.x

  • He still has the cape. This makes me extremely happy.

  • Where have all his foot-pedals gone ? There used to be a million !

Impresionante Wakeman

  • Great great great greatest! God saves Wakeman forever!

  • Those are some really bad sounding synthesiser presets. Detracts from the whole thing massively.

  • @PickledYoshi The sounds from the Roland TD20 drumkit suffer from the same.

  • i just shit my pants.

  • Die

    Be this guy

    Go to heaven

    and play piano

  • That drummer doesn't know how to hold drumsticks. Rick Wakeman sure knows how to play keyboards, though.

  • @apieceofeight23 CLARO QUE NÃO SABE... DEVE SER AMADOR. SURE THING HE DOESEN'T KNOW... PERHAPS HE IS AN AMADOR. ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?

  • @apieceofeight23 yes he does ive been playing percussion/drums for like 6 years im a senior in high school. there is noting wrong with a traditional grip on drumset its especially useful for jazz drumset playing. and if you do know about drumset playing then you should notice his set is set up for a left handed person so he is playing with his right traditional because he's left handed :P

  • QUANDO LA CLASSE NON E' ACQUA PASSANO GLI ANNI MA E SEMPRE IL ++++++++++++++++++ PIU' GRANDE

  • i was in two of his concerts in Buenos Aires, around '92. in such a moment he introduced his son who started playing one of that cheesy "guitar-keyboard" , soloing exactly as his father does.

Being this spectacle not pathetic enough, wakeman took another "guitar-key" and started a "virtuous-father-son-duet". The ticket price was pretty expensive, but for more than one hour of laughing it deserved the money.

  • Rick is still the master of the keyboards!!!!

  • showwww!!!!!!!!

    \o/

  • he's a parody of himself.... and an eternal Bach copycat. In such a way I still like him, he makes me laugh.

  • @jansonmorr

be quite!!! You can't offend Rick Wakeman!!! I would like you try to play a rick wakeman's song, do a video and put it in youtube... I would like to see this video.

  • rick wakeman songs are based on a few basic chords, then a lot of fast played scales are improvised over them. Quite efficient if you want to catch people attention. If you are interested in this kind of style, don't keep stacked with this "illusionist"... there's fantastic music around us. Keep also in mind the creative job; he's doing the same stuff since the middle 70's. He just changed some keyboards in order to keep "fresh".

  • Wtf, how can you piss on the greatest keyboard player of all time, member of one of the greatest bands ever and superb artist!!!

All You stupid maggots that dont know shit abount music can lick his balls and feel honored to do so!

  • That's Ray Cooper, one of the top percussionists in the world.

If Ray Cooper hasn't guested with your band, well, you're not famous.

He's played with Rick, with Genesis, with Santana.

  • this would do better as an audio clip. somehow the jowls and the haircut do not go together. I have fond memories of hearing RW & band in West Hartford in '85

  • Pretentious? Certainly. It's rather theatrical, but it's meant to be. I can't think of any reason to consider this lame, though. Your tastes may be different, but there's no need to rain on everyone else's parade. :)

  • This might be the lamest and most pretentious thing I've ever seen.

  • @feckingtwot Explain!

  • @MasterTubeTheatre Do I need to? The pseudo-Baroque 'virtuosity' rendered in synth trills that sounds like a robot trying to communicate the concept of battle rape with its electronic apparatus is a good place to start. The overblown, laudatory, English heritage pretence of grandeur, the fucking Tudor cape, the tacky orchestra, the emphasis on sensationalist performance at the expense of anything even remotely creative and musically intriguing. Shall I go on?

  • @feckingtwot He's playing the album "The Six Wives Of Henry VIII", that's why he's dressing like that, if that's what you're complaining about... Part of the show, nothing more than that.

  • @Bedulonko Rick Wakeman is a fat cunt and his music is a heap of shit. It's not just the cape, but by God the cape is enough to make me want to travel back in time and inject his mother's birth canal with toxic waste, and then go forward in time and watch his conception, and the subsequent years of rejection and isolation that come of his genetic disfigurement. That would be worth watching, not some washed up prog twat who, WOW, knows how to do a few scales. Who gives a shit. CUNT.

  • @feckingtwot Yeah, you're right, I mean, it's YOU talking, and YOU are the most famous keyboarder, guitarist, drummer, etc. of all time.

Maybe Billie Joe Armstrong is better than him and all of the other "prog twats". Sure.

  • @Bedulonko Look, I'm not trying to piss on your bonfire, I'm glad you enjoy this music, I'm glad it makes you happy. The fact is, some people thought Stalin made them happy, but a lot of other people ended up rotting in a pit of lime at one of the Gulags. Think of me as one of the latter type. Rick Wakeman's music is genocidal to good music. Maybe I wouldn't be so annoyed if this wasn't the kind of insipid shit that mass culture has raised to god-like status. Sord it aaaht!

  • @feckingtwot

    1) This doesn't make me "happy".

    2) Did you just compare Rick Wakeman's perfomance with Stalin?!

    3) "Rick Wakeman's music is genocidal to good music"... What?! How?!

    4) "insipid shit that mass culture has raised to god-like status"... You could say that about punk rock, pop, rap, hip-hop, etc, etc. But Progressive Rock? I don't think so.

  • @Bedulonko

Go take a look at @feckingtwot's Favorites, you'll understand more about his special level of expertise. I think I even found a Shakira video if I'm not wrong. Stop wasting your time with him/her (not sure if it's an old man or an old woman's nick)

  • che spettacolo!

  • IDOLO !!! UNICO !!! MAXIMO !!!

  • he usually RUSHES this piece live but with the orch and the CONDUCTOR giving him the tempo this is the first time Ive seen him play this at the correct tempo! Im sure he plays it fast on purpose so he can fly across the keys dfor the audience but when the orchestra is present you dont need to showboat like that hehehe

  • siempre increible

  • I love this man. I got to know him of him all too late. Even though his prime is over, he is still the best in my opinion. He is directly inspirational to watch, gives me a lot of lust to achieve great musical knowledge!

    Thank you!

  • I love this man.

  • not sure of the guy on percusion but im sure he on pink floyd tours. magic stuff.. i have seen rick and adam many times and have met rick. a pure genius for sure..

  • Thank you for this video.

  • I think the Orchestra on this sounds better than his Journey to the Center Of The Earth one fro 1974. The little bit i,ve heard of this in comparison sounds cleaner.

  • by far the best of the yes solo albums

  • He has the majic of music-want a feeling to give to all Play on and live through the music want power for life!!

  • Magnifico, come sempre!

  • FABULOSO el Ricardito Wakeman !!!

  • 2.00 amazing!!

  • A fucking pure genius..

  • Loving the bald guy rocking out on the bongos :)

  • @CrispyCC Thats Ray Cooper

  • @CrispyCC That bald guy is Ray Cooper, he has played with The Rolling Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Elton John and Mark Knopfler, just to name a few.

  • @CrispyCC He's called Ray Cooper and he's an absolute nutter, but a brilliant percussionist.

  • @CrispyCC

Man, that's Ray Cooper (Elton John, Eric Clapton and more)

  • @CrispyCC

    That's Ray Cooper, he's a living legend.

  • @CrispyCC Looks like Ray Cooper, one of the greatest percussionists in rock. Had play with most everybody, from Elton to Rick

  • @atlasvpmktg By God, it definitely is!

Also: Ray Cooper's birthday is one day before mine! :D

  • FLAWLESS!!!!

....LMAO

  • awesome!!

  • Rick's health, unfortunately, is not what it used to be. After a 2-week "tour" in the US (I believe he was in New York), his doctor told him "No more touring". Period, I'm sad to say. It is a reminder to me that we're not the spring chickerns we used to be. Peace:-)

  • His doctor told him to retire in 1974. Of course he is much older now, but there may still be hope.

  • The 6 wives of henry Viii, my friend, is way better than any Yes album you can think of. And that is from someone who's a Yes fan.

  • Genious

  • prog rules again !!

  • WOW!!!! AMAZING

  • FABULOSO !!!!

  • Wakeman should release the sheet-music again, I´ve been trying to get a copy for years.

  • He looks tired but sharp as usual.

  • Great performance, no? :-)

With Ray Cooper and the good old Tony Fernandes. :-)

They are like wine, the older, the better!

  • Jerk

  • lol what does that movie have to do with anything?

  • But not funnier than your mother giving birth to you. And you know it!
