  • Cheers to Page France. Long live the band that opened our eyes to superior quality christian folk rock. Maybe there will be another Page France some day but I really doubt it. Here's to wishing.

  • Is this the singer from Neutral Milk Hotel?

  • Marylands finest

  • Oh beautiful glockenspiel-playing maiden, why can't I possess you?

  • yah man she loves him!

  • The way Whitney McGraw looks at Mike Nau at 1:53 and 2:00 is all I could ever want in life.

  • fantastic-ness, covered in awesome sauce.

  • Well I know Whitney, Mike, and my brother Bryan are in The Cotton Jones and Mike and Whitney just got maried a few months ago.

  • this is awesome

  • are they a christian band? he always mentions Jesus Christ and God and i always hear christian allusions

  • This is better than the cd version

  • i just cannot watch this and not be happy

  • i heart whitney

  • @saleri Haha Sorry bouut your luck she just got married to Mike a few months ago!

  • This song is perfection.

  • the talent baffles me. ridiculous.

wrecking ball with a heart of gold. perfect.

  • @colleenthebean55 i LOOOOOVE that part too

  • i like this song!

  • This is off of one of the most beautiful albums created and it depresses me that their new band just isn't living up to this.

  • @GSchazz Ikr! My brother has been in this band and Letter to Juliet! And now Cotton Jones! And I love these songs more than the cotton jones! And I know I'm suppose to be supportive to my brother but it just gets me mad. Haha

  • jeez they're amazing for such a simple band. i love them

  • I consider myself lucky to have seen this band live. I went to their show to see another band they were supporting in a tiny venue in NJ and their sound ended up completely haunting my soul. These songs don't stop being good.

  • the pedro slice at the end makes me wet

  • Almost makes you wanna be a Christian, don't it? ;)

    Nah...

  • Heard this on KEXP (NYC), such a ROCKING song! Thanks!

  • Oh wow, this sounds so amazing live. So much emotion...

  • i love this version. I wish i could've been there

  • buryuntime, the ending is a bit of a cover of a pedro the lion song called "slow and steady wins the race".

  • anyone got the lyrics to the ending? It's extended.

  • @buryuntime "When I get to heaven / I'll be greeted warmly / Surrounded by the angels / as Jesus takes my hand / I'll receive a mansion / Oh, right next to Mel Gibson's / And a crown of diamonds / For a race well run" <-- This part, as @oletimes mentioned, is from a Pedro the Lion song, but they changed one line. "Right next to Mel Gibson's" is "On the River Jordan" in the original song.

At the end, I think he says "Where's my happy ending? / I think he's hiding"

  • Such a good song.

  • beautiful

  • you guys are amazingg.

  • lol whitney so cute right now

  • Awesome. I miss Page France. Although I guess it doesn't matter what alias he works as, as long as the music stays the same.

  • i heard they broke up? shame i wasnt into them when they played together. anyone know what theyre up to now?

  • Most of them play in a band called the Cotton Jones Basket Ride, also on Suicide Squeeze. :)

  • cool, thanks =)

  • Noooooo! I didn't wanna hear that! :'''(

  • @clashcityrocker9 Mike and whitney have a boy now. They are doing well.

  • @rustydumplin p.s. i was upstairs throwing up when they played this song

  • i like this version alot

    these guys are great :)

  • amazing!

i love the how he brought slow and steady wins the race at the end

  • omg. Who is that girl on he xylophone?? She is a babe.

  • ya dude. shes as fine as a glass of chocolate milk!

  • That's Whitney McGraw and she's been dating Mike Nau (the singer/guitarist) since before the band's inception. Sorry, guys! You're outta luck.

  • Ah. Good to know.

  • the guy from this band denies being a christian so it's a bit redundant arguing about it. he's just a poet.

  • Dude, you gotta get out more. Christians making great music...there's Sufjan Stevens, and Pedro the Lion/David Bazan just to name a few. More for those who are willing to look. You seem the type of person who would look up a Bible verse if given the reference, so here. Luke 11:42-44 and Matthew 7:1-5. Think about it.

P.S. Snakes are God's creation as well. It does not matter if the devil steals them for his representation. They complete creation, and are valid as the subject for folk songs.

  • Like the heart of God,and With a violin and a song to sing As he brings for us our wings.

    ohh yeah so evil..lol

  • loneconfortmist..hmm

your name says more than enough for me.

  • I love how they cover Pedro the Lion (with embelishments) @ the end. These guys are awesome.

  • I LOOOOOVEE page france.

more and more every time I listen to them!!

  • JHougle... never realized it, but you're SO right.

I thought I couldn't love them anymore, but it just rose to the next level. I miss them.

  • It reminds me a lot of Neutral Milk Hotel.

Which is a very very very good thing.

  • I was thinking the same thing...so beautiful, raw, and real..it's hard to explain how good this feels<3

  • yayay i covered this song ... here it is, the source

  • she is beautiful

  • you know i dont know much about them, but they ARE AWESOME, then i read about someones message about how she looks at him and wow i would love for a woman to look at me like that.......lucky bastard page france rocks

  • maybe a bit daniel johnston-ish too. anyways, it's really good. love this band.

  • His vocals here almost sound like neutral milk hotel's.

  • i was thinking something very similar!

  • look at how she looks at him...

  • i watch this video all the time. viva page france!

  • its so cool to me how he's always improvising the end of his songs. in this case, pedro the lion

  • He never deviates from those two chords and it sounds beautiful.

  • what are the 2 chords so i can try an learn it?

  • just curious what are the chords for someone whos trying ta learn the song???

  • Ok from memory I believe it's C and F major 7, not dominant. You could just try F major...whatever sounds best.

  • The chords are G and C, with a capo on the third fret.

  • whats a capo??

  • you dont know what a capo is? its just a clamp fastened across all the strings of the frets of a guitar to raise their tuning.

and on a side note i think though two chords are A to Dmaj7 (or just d) with a capo on 1

though G to C with a capo on 3 sounds fine to.

  • whitney's kinda hot

  • ya really

  • Not kinda hot - I'd marry her on a moment's notice.

  • oh totally

  • Supporting Page France from Australia!

    Wishing them the best

  • ya, it must be ~_^

  • i love this band. i saw them this past summer and they didnt play this at all. along with any songs from hello, dear wind except for elephant. love them though

  • I too first heard of them from an episode of Weeds. I have totally fallen in love with all of their music! I would love to see and hear them live some day!

  • :) wonderful

  • No there not bob dylan wannabes..their page france

  • there = they're

    their = they're

    sheesh

  • Oh wow that must have been amazing. Nice job.

ps:sparticusUK - typing like that is retarded.

  • I first heard "Chariot" at the end of "Weeds" episode 12. "Chariot" is one of those tracks that moved me. I immediately wanted to find out who performed it. The artists wasn't posted int he credits or on the "Weeds" website which I visited for the first time only to find the artists. I was fortunate to locate a site on google that was nice enough to post the artist information. It's going into the wedding playlist! Thanks!

  • I was there that night!

  • Really?? Who were you?? I'm the cellist/violinist from Canada, in the green dress. It was my birthday! :)

  • I'm a friend of Page France, I hung out on the steps and that's where I kept my camera. I remember you, and Happy Birthday in a few months!

  • wow... how come ive never heard of this band till now?

  • its strange that the recorded version of chariot on hello dear wind is actually the worst version. example, this is the best version ive ever heard. especially the pedro the lion at the end. and by the way mike's not wearing a head band......BUT THIS SONGS FUCKING AMAZING

  • Wood Panel Walls.. I love it!

  • I tell you what...the single good thing about MySpace is that without it I would have never fell in love with Page France.

  • i wish i could write like this

  • Yay!!!! I love Page France. Thank you for this wonderful video.

  • Thank you for sharing this!

  • wow!! i agree with every that has been poseted here. amazing video. great song. graet lyrics. and love the pedro the lion addition at the end. nice touch! can't wait to see them in toronto!

  • Amazing footage. Thanks so much for shooting this.

  • Wonderful. Ridiculously wonderful.

  • this is one of the best songs written. It's so beautiful it makes me cry

  • man do i wish i was there cause my new years was lame

  • this is great, and thanks for it... any other page france videos from New Years Eve??

  • unfortunately, there are no more videos, but there ARE a million pictures from that weekend on my flickr account. i'm user 'kaylanmitchell' on there, too. thank you!

  • Good stuff. Whitney is one of the most beautiful women in indie rock. ANd I liked the way they integrated some Pedro The Lion lyrics at the end there.

  • this is gold!

  • thank you! :)
