  • Hi, what's the 96-24 thing on the control pod that shows?

  • for easy sound card (GET A USB SOUND CARD! THEY'RE CHEAP!) and install in mear seconds and they also include 5.1 surround sound and what not

  • lp toshiba satalite a200

  • SPDIF??

  • Someone who can help me??? Is it possible to connect a iPhone with a cable to z5500, and play music?

  • @simonotterberg sure it is. I have done it many times. All you need is a male: male cable (don't know the correct technical word for that). What I mean is, male jacks at both the ends of the wire. Insert one one in the 3.5 headphone compartment of your iphone and the other end in digital hub of your speaker. Hope this helps.

  • What speakers do you have? 5.1? if yes, what speakers do you reccomend?

  • Will it be 5.1 though?

  • @Tazza17

Most likely not, it just depends.

  • @DaTechGuru Er, could you elaborate?

  • @Tazza17

Sure. Not every laptop has SPDIF outs, and when they do it is rare that it is more then a 2ch out. I recommend an external soundcard if you want 5.1 from a laptop.

  • @DaTechGuru Okay, so I'd need an external soundcard. Is there one you'd recommend for the z-5500? And how does the soundcark hook up to the laptpo?

  • My Laptop, like most peoples, doesn't have a SPDIF output, so I use a, external USB soundcard, which had an optical out. I just hook up my Z5500 using an optical cable from the soundcard and happy days, Itunes has never sounded better!

  • and does it give you 5.1 sound?

  • hey i have a problem with the intensifier, it starts to blink and the sub starts to "wooooof" by it's self. i think its bad connection, but the cable seems fine. what can it be?

  • Can you get a link to you kabel and adapter please

  • if i have an acer aspire, would i be able to conect this thing he has on 0:53 ?

  • if i have an Acer Aspire 5738ZG i will be able to use this thing he has on 0:54 ??

  • good man ! im doin dat tomorow

  • and the blue ilumination ??? fail??

  • @pollolin2000 Ahh yes, that is quite a large problem.

It tends to happen quite often, thankfully an LED backlight does not affect sound quality. Anyway, it is quite poor that it does occur, but I can not do anything about it.

  • @DaTechGuru which sucks bad

  • ive only got one, speaker out put, is this bad? will i get good bass or sound? cause i just want bass

  • @madbob222222 i only have S/PDIF

  • Hi,

    1 Question:

I have the same toshiba laptop (Toshiba P200) and Logitech Z-5500. If i buy the optical cable including the mini jack. Is this enough to get SURROUND SOUND? People tell me that laptop CANT' T give surround sound but only 2.1???

    Please help..

  • I have a HP Pavilion dv4-1123us and it doesn't have a SPDIF headphone jack. I know I can get the minimum features of the logitech z-5500. Is there any way to get digital surround sound with my laptop? If so, what would I need? Thanks.

  • Hi i have a Hp Dv-9832eo, will it be compatible?

  • also it has a sound blaster audigy sound card thats installed in it

  • i have a dell studio laptop, what all will i need to hook up this system

  • Awesome video.

I'd like to buy this one aswell, but would it be compatible with my laptop. I have an HP Pavilion dv7-1150ed.

    Thanks

  • Hi Hydr128,

Unfortunately you will only be able to use the Logitech Z-5500 with minimum features. In example, you could just get a 2 channel stereo signal, so no digital or even surround sound =(

  • And is there anything i can buy that well make it fully functional?

  • There is of course external sound cards, I advise you look into some external sound cards for your laptop, or if you please, ask me and I will look around for you, so long as you provide me with a budget to work with.

  • @DaTechGuru i have a ASUS N73SV whit Spdif output.. i want to use the sweex 7,1 external sound card.. could you plz tell me where to put al the plugs of the 5500?? i am a bit of a noob:P

  • hey, i have the hp pavilion dv3-2130ea and im think of buying the Logitech Z-5500 Sound system. Will it be compatible? if not what will i need to make it compatible and will the qualitiy still be the same?

  • Hi TiggerXII,

I just looked up the specs for the laptop you stated, from the specs, the jack/s that came to interest are; the headphone jack, the headphone jack guarantees that a minimum connection can be accomplished, the Logitech Z-5500 will be limited but comptabile with your laptop, for example, you will recieve an analogue signal that has 2 channels, left and right, so no surround sound or digital signal from your laptop to the Z-5500. Feel free to ask further questions.

  • i have only a headphone jack does it still getting a 5.1 signal?

  • Hi merijnwitje,

Unfortunately a headphone jack does not allow for a digital signal what so ever. You can of course simulate 5.1ch surround sound with certain programs, but it is usually not as good as the real thing, if you have further questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Will this work with a ps3 and xbox plugged into a tv?

  • Hi rorylegend12,

If your Xbox and PS3 are connected to your TV through a digital connection and then a digital output on your TV is connected to the Logitech Z-5500 control panel, it will work. I need a better description to help you further, better yet, a video if possible. Also feel free to ask any other questions of interest.

  • They are plugged in through HDMI, will it still work and get surround sound as in being able to tell which side they are coming from?

  • rorylegend12,

It will work, so long as a digital output from your TV is connected to a digital input on the Logitech Z-5500, such as a Toslink cable, an optical connection essentially. Please feel free to ask any further questions.

  • song name :p?

  • Forever Love - Taio Cruz

  • nice vid...thanks.....5/5

  • If you haven't got s/pdif on your laptop, the best thing to do is to buy creative sound blaster 5.1 sound card which is usb and there you go, and you will get better sound then your laptop sound card would give you any way..

  • Yes, definitaly, an external sound card is the way to go, but I do not have an external sound card, so I can not demonstrate anything.

  • Nice video.

  • thats great. 5/5 dude. =)

  • Nice video tutorial. hope this helps some people.
