  • you guys rock

  • tại sao chưa quen nhau mà đã dùng câu hỏi ''Bạn khỏe không?''

bạn phải có mối quan hệ ở một mức độ nào đó rồi mới hỏi. chứ không phải hỏi câu đó lúc mới làm quen.^^!

  • Cam On!

  • I enjoy her voice.

  • @quantumdude im african and have been riding zebras for years, i am offended by your racist comment

  • I still can understand what u mean but actually it is not correct and this is not what Vietnamese use. This is my Vietnamese version ( and i am a vietnamese)

    Hello Xin chào

How are you? Bạn khỏe không? ( but actually Vietnamese don't usually use this question for greeting, just when u haven't met your friend for a long time)

My name is Angela : Tôi tên Angela

What is your name? Bạn tên gì?

  • um...I'm Viet and I can read, speak and write and when you guys did the Dạ Khỏe Không?... is not correct. It should be "Ban co khoe khong?" (How are you?) Da it mean yes in a honorable way to address an older person. You guys should change that or type something to not misguide other people who wants to learn Viet. In addition, Tên Tôi Là.. (My name is...) to pronounce it is not Then because foreigner might pronounce it like Then in English..It should be Thun or Dun depend on his or her accent

  • all vietnamese should learn their native language

  • You should never say "chao" to someone. By itself, it sounds odd. You can say "chao anh" or "chao em" or "chao bac". But it depends on gender, and age. For people who are older than your mom/dad, say "chao bac" should suffice. For people at your age, say "chao ban". The tricky part is to guess how old they are then you can address them appropriately. You can't use "chao ban" for someone who is clearly older than your mom/dad because that's disrespectful.

  • in Vietnamese, how are you = " Bạn khỏe không ? " . From " Dạ " head sentence does not make sense

  • @veoveoist Yes, it does make sense. That is used for older people

  • i'm proud of the Vietnamese for kicking the americans out of their country. greetings from Poland

  • sinh qua

  • are you from vietnam ? do u speak with right accent ? i wanna know please .....and want to learn .....

  • @walalang429 Yes right accent! To be honest it's Southern Accent !

  • @soulkeeper2912 what is the official accent from north or south ? so if i 'll learn the language what accent do i need to follow ? in the video they are both young , and do u have regulation when u speak to someone older to you ? or to someone that u don't even know ? like talking to a stranger ....?

  • @walalang429 Both north and south accent are officially used. However I would suggest you to know both! There are tones of regulations in speaking, Vietnamese is a language with social order. So with the basic meeting for people whom you might not know: Em chào ... ( it means "hello to ...") You must use "Em" to prefer yourself as lower rank and always, to show politeness! "..." is various, depend on who you talk too. "Anh" for male > you, "Chị" for female > you....

  • @walalang429 "Bác" for both male and female who seems older or just about your parents age. "Ông" for male who seems like your grand-dad, and "Bà" for female who seems like your grand-mom. "Cô" for female who < your parents, and "Chú" for male who < your parents.

  • @soulkeeper2912 that's right ^^

  • Enjoy your videos. You guys could do with a better mike though.

  • actually they are all from southern Vietnam so their pronunciation is not the standard one. And when two people are at same age like her and him, they don't use "Dạ" in their conversation. "Dạ" just uses when a younger talks to an older one.

  • wow that guy is hot!

  • I better learn Vietnamese before I go to Singapore to get a Vietnamese bride.

  • @babykevinxoxo Didn't shithole China sell her chinese brides to western men like 20 or 30 years ago when chinese people were still riding bicycles?

  • @ChineseEatBabies I guess

  • Chao` in Cambodian means grand kid.

  • @quantumdude well what kind of race are you white you piece of white-dung!! T

  • ahh im viet and forgot how to say how are you... she's so pretty!

  • To all the people who said that vietnamese sound weird: Vietnamese doesnt sound weird, it's just that ur not used to it and sometime people have different accent because they're from the north or south.... It's just the same with English, British has a different accent to America nd Ireland.... So please don't say anything bad about it cause it offended me ( btw I'm Vietnamese :D )

  • Not: "Dạ, khỏe không?" But: " Bạn/anh/chị/cô/chú/bác/ông/bà...+khỏe không?"

  • dạ khỏe không nghe thế nào ý ==" bạn khỏe không là được rồi mà

  • I'm 3/4 Vietnamese and need to take mother language exam next year! I wasn't born there, and can barely speak Vietnamese...so can someone suggest me a good website to learn the language??? I especially need it in nguoi bac...

  • @jennygenie95 Hi Jenny, I think we can help, tell me any sentence or word you wish to know, we will do our best. we speak Southern accent, but if you want Northern, we can ask Northern friends for some help.

  • @Vietnameyes I saw through your channel, I find it pretty useful but is all the the Southern words also the same in nguoi bac? Because I don't mind learning nguoi nam, but my mother tongue dialect is bac. :)

  • @jennygenie95 Take it easy, J. :). Northern and Southern are different in some particular sounds. But, you know, we can speak 2 accents. Both Northern and Southern people would understand if you speak with the standard Vietnamese accent. There're much more to say on how to speak Vietnamese, email us and find out what's good for you.

  • I already know all of this because i was born in vietnam

  • oi chuong trinh nay hay qua ha !

  • Wow im guessing all the viet people came here to brag :D yes im viet too mwuahha

  • Love the cheesey turn to the camera at the end. 5 stars!

  • @kenji387 I know right.

  • I want to ten toi la donna

  • thanks for ur comments!

I just been in China (traveling), and I realised that Vietnamese language is related a bit to Mandarin and Cantonese. My mother is Chinese-Vietnamese and she confirmed that. (she can speak Cantonese, ya, but she never teaches me !_! )

I been studyin Japanese for 3 years and I also see that Vietnamese and Japanese language have some similarities. But for me, Vietnamese is the hardest ^^

  • không phải là "Dạ khỏe không" mà lạ "Bạn khỏe không"

  • làm gì có mới gặp mà " dạ khỏe không" hả bạn. Dạy mà như vậy thì chết

  • @MrNgoctien0909 dạy sai rồi.dạy vậy thì chết

  • @MrNgoctien0909 cái này là lịch sử hơn bạn ah.....!! Bạn thấy thầy tu ở chùa đó đi cúng hay đi gì đều dùng từ " dạ" hết. BE POLITE !

  • Wouldn't it be Xin Chào?

  • @KagamineJeshika In Vietnamese, "Xin chào" and "chào", both is ok ^^

  • ủa sao không dùng tên tiếng việt

  • i'm asian and i am trying to learn my language

  • the viet pronuncitation here is so incorrectly ! and " how are you?= bạn khỏe không?" not "dạ khỏe không?"

"dạ khỏe không?" doesn't mean anything :)

  • I will learn from you because you're the best looking teacher

  • how do you say: I am fine and you?

  • @superglam92 tôi khỏe còn bạn thế nào

  • @MrMoryon thanks for replying. I have to do a vietnamese diolague for an intercultural class I am taking in college. :)

  • I'm turning Vietnamese I think I'm turning Vietnamese I really think so.

  • lease lessons are very useful im mexican trying to learn viet.

  • blue eagle332,japanese isn't a tonal language at all.the only problem a westerner has learning the language is remaining polite to elders/people of high position and cojugating for equal status or lesser status.and although khmer, vietnamese and perhaps chinese dialects are tonal, japanese is altaic.this means that it has zero in common with the languages you keep harping on about.don't make westerners believe we are the same, because we aren't.

  • @ikegami1jp

Japanese is indeed Altaic, and it's true that it isn't a tonal language, but it does have a sort of pitch accent (some European languages have it too). Khmer isn't tonal either. In East/Southeast Asia, the following are tonal: All Chinese varieties, Vietnamese, the entire Tai-Kadai family (including Thai and Lao) and the entire Hmong-Mien family. Burmese (and related Tibetan languages), Korean and Japanese have pitch accents, while Mongolian, Khmer and Malay are not tonal at all.

  • @ikegami1jp Yeah japanese is actually closer to turkish or my language finnish, then chinese or vietnamese. Incedently it´s easy to a Fin to pronounce japanese.

  • Italian: "Ciao" means "Hello" or "Bye"

Vietnamese: "Chào" means "Hello" or "Bye"

the same pronunciation, the same meaning

    ???

  • @MoriAryka It's the same in Czech

  • @MoriAryka You can only use "chào" to your friends and youngers :)

  • @MoriAryka pretty similar :D

  • @MoriAryka in vietnamese chao is hello and bye is just bye

  • @MoriAryka : not the same pronunciation, please!

  • @MoriAryka You almost right. that's it.

  • @MoriAryka Chao in cantonese means Run ,

  • @MoriAryka In Vietnamese "Chào" means "Hello", "Bye" or "Goodbye" is "tạm biệt" :) You also can say "Chào" at the end of conversation but it's not really right.

  • @alnst75 that's right

  • @TheTonyVo In Vietnamese, Chaò also means Goodbye or Bye. But it's not really right.

  • @MoriAryka actually hello in vietnamease is more of a 'j' sound rather a 'ch' sound so its more jiao rather then chaio. :)

  • @MoriAryka Vietnamese "Chào" means " Hello " not be mean "Bye" ...."Bye" means " Tạm biệt"

  • @GuardianDemonX as i told you. the hardest part in vietnamese is the pronunciation... mandarin and japanese also are tonal like vietnamese. there is no tenses, conjugation in vietnamese... mandarin, too but japanese, it has a lot of tenses or conjugation.

but you need to know when you write one difficult word in vietnamese or mandarin, vietnamese is totally more, more faster.. mandarin has a lot of characters (small, short, big, long). that's why mandarin (chinese language) is also an art

  • it's not that hard when you are viet :P really easy

  • some one wana learn vietnamese ! i willing to help...

  • @onegreenfly you should make videos,,,

  • @elwichode1980 i cant do it...! im so busy ...! but im please to help any one want to learn vietnamese with neagative man ..! i speak vietnamese exactly and clear...!^^

  • im a vietnamese! yes this video have some mistake...we dont say "dạ khỏe không" ,we say this "bạn/anh/chú/bác/....+ khỏe không" depend on the age of them

  • im a vietnamese! yes this video have some mistake...we dont say "dạ khỏe không" ,we say this "bạn/anh/chú/bác/....+ khỏe không" depend on the age of them

  • I agree with you! I study Japanese too. And my teacher said Japanese was harder than Vietnamese

  • Wait, I thought Japanese was harder?

  • Hello, I Think There are some mistakes in this video. I watch this video because Im finding the best way to teach my boyfriend. I know It's hard for foreigners. But VietNamese is wonderful. Good Luck with that ^^

  • damn this is so hard :S

  • damn man most of my friends are viet, I WANNA KNOW WHAT THEY'RE SAYING! LOL

    This is so hard

  • Viet has more tones and harder pronounciations than Chinese, Mandarin only have four tones in pinyin and Vietnamese got some of their language from Canto but is still harder

  • and I thought cantonese was hard

  • The hello in Vietnamese "Chào" sounds like the Italian's "Ciao"

    Cool!!

  • hoc tieng viet phai moi ngay

  • vietnamese is the the most lovely language!!

  • the hardest language is arabic and mandarin

  • How are you today=hôm nay bạn khỏe không?

How is everything=Mọi việc thế nào?

  • How are you = "Bạn có khỏe không?". I think it's right because your boss can't talk to you : "Dạ khỏe không?".

  • địt mẹ mày = fuck you :))

  • She has one set of clothing for every 1:20 video....... looks gorgeous in most of them though

  • damn, she's hot im glad i'm viet :)

  • @MegaPekingman That is not nice of you to say that.

  • How are you = Bạn khỏe không

if you speak with someone as your age

  • LOL at the cheesy smile at the end

  • caution this is south vietnamese, it isn't spoken everywhere in viet nam like this...

  • @erichvons Aren't most of the Vietnamese in the USA from the southern part?

  • @PIANOPHUNGUY true, but why would u learn south-vietnamese spoken in the USA and not standard vietnamese that s spoken all over Vietnam?

(is it linked to what happened 40-30 yrs ago in Vietnam ?) I just want to learn Vietnamese in order to be understood by them, I ll be going there for 6 months starting January (in Hanoi...)

But anyway, your videos gave me the first kick to learn this language...

    Cam on chi

  • @erichvons Well, I know some people from the Saigon area and I want to be able to speak and understand a little of what they say. I don't ever plan to visit Vietnam, except on t.v. or dvds. Why go there when there are so many people, restaurants etc from there? I can just hang around Bolsa & Magnolia and I'm in Little Saigon. Saves a lot of money in plane fare. I've even eaten in a restaurant that features Hanoi cuisine. North/south it doesn't matter.

  • @MegaPekingman I want to learn because I am fascinated with learning many languages such as Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French, Spanish, Vietnamese, Hebrew and many more.

  • chào,dạ khỏe không .... major problem here.....

  • how wierd....thats not the way viet people communicate in public, especially at the coffee shop and with the guy you 1st see.

  • i say toi ten la.... is that correct?

  • @azndancypants yeah that's ok ^^~ so much people learn to study vietnamese... WOW

  • bạn khỏe không?= how are you?, not " dạ khỏe không"

  • @nangkhongmau @ ở dey la dạng formal, thêm dạ vao cũng ko sao....

  • @nangkhongmau Dạ is more respectful.

  • @LuckyStarJessie18 Dạ is more like talking to older people ... like 10 years older....

  • @huptochao Really? Are you Trung, Bắc, or Nam? 'cause I'm Bắc and I never ever hear people saying dạ with older people :D They alone asked 'Cô khỏe không?' or Chú or whoever :)

  • @LuckyStarJessie18 lol .... that normal now on any part of the country..... kids these day....... but dạ is like show respect to older people

  • @huptochao Hmmmm............ ok, I'll use it from now on. Thank you for teaching me new things :D LOL <3

  • how do say fish sauce with dog meat?

    yummy.

I live in Canada for 21 years so yeah.

  • @DemonessSapphire69

How is life in Canada. too cold?

    What city you live in?

Are their a lot of Viet in Canada?

  • @lazyhorse22 Now, it's summer, so it's pretty hot. I live in Ontario, Brampton, quite place, there's not a lot of asian people here, there's a lot of black and indian people, but not asian. Most asian are in Downtown Toronto a.k.a China Town. What about you? Where do you live?

  • @DemonessSapphire69

I live in Orange County California. Pretty hot here too.

We have a lot of sexy cafe shop here, with a lot of pretty girls.

Cali, have the best weather and a lot of things to do.

You know little Saigon is here. You should come and visit.

  • Comment removed

  • Cool! Does Vietnam still speak French? I want to go to vietnam to speak French

  • @rbd510 no way. we speak our national language : Vietnamese !!!

  • @rbd510 Actually, my Dad in Saigon had the option to learn either (as a second language) French or English. Pretty cool, huh?! =D

  • how do you say, "You are hot!" in Vietnamese?

  • @lawker777 you can say "ban trong rat quyen ru" which sounds like /ba;n tSon ro:t kwen ru:/

  • @lawker777 : Bạn thật hấp dẫn or Bạn thật quyến rũ

  • @lawker777: Bạn thật hấp dẫn or Bạn thật quyến rũ

  • My mom is Vietnamese and My dad is Jamaican:)

  • I'm in Da Lat right now, will be staying in Vietnam for a few months. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I love how Vietnamese girls always wear shirts which are sort of transparent, in that you can see their bras and figures more clearly.

  • Can someone help me.. is it always okay to just say chao as a greeting? or do you need to use things like xin chao or chao ong at times? i'm confused, what do the vietnamese people say to each other in greeting?

  • @gabspen Hi gabspen, you can use both "Chao" or " Xin chao" as a greeting. However, "Xin chao" or "Chao ong" are used as a respect when you first meet someone. "Chao" is used friendly.

  • @gabspen Well, I'm vietnamese and I think it's the best to say " Chào Bạn " . You can say that all the time when you meet somebody . Saying " Chao ong " or " Xin chao " is a little formal. Saying " Chao Ban" is more friendly than say " Chao Ong " or Xin Chao coz " Bạn " = you and Ong = Mr

  • con gai vietnam minh dep qua nhinh co ay ma toi cu cuoi miem chi day

  • welcome everyone to the world hardest language LOL

  • @GuardianDemonX not really hard if ur vietnamese

  • @StripedRhinoGaming i know, i meant for foreigner, but for viet of course it easy obviously, dumb ass, and she cute and so is the second girl hehe

  • @GuardianDemonX try to learn Madarin, LOL......

  • @blueealge332 mandarin is easy, the tone is pretty easy to pronounce it out

  • @GuardianDemonX yes, its pronunciation is easier than vietnamese, but if you're talking about madarin grammar, i would tell you that vietnamese grammar is easier than madarin grammar, and vietnamese grammar can be one of the easiest grammars in the world....

do you know every word in vietnamese is 1 syllable? do you know there is not any added sound after vietnamese words?

  • @blueealge332 every chinese words is one syllable too, and not every vietnamese words is one syllable, u have to combine with the other syllable to make a word not only use that one word

  • @GuardianDemonX just take a look on google to see top most difficult languages in the world... you'll see chinese somewhere in top 3 or 5

  • @blueealge332 i look it up for the hardest asian language and it said vietnamese is the hardest one, chinese mandarin aint too hard, the tone is pretty easy and the grammar too

  • @GuardianDemonX i'm sorry, according to my result when i search "the hardest asian language" on google, there is 1 answer agree that vietnamese is the hardest in every 10 answers...

  • @blueealge332 well becuz not too many people learning vietnamese, most westerner are learning japanese becuz of their animation and video games entertainment, but those who try to learn vietnamese they all said it very hard, but for mandarin only the script it hard but for pronounciation and grammar it pretty easy, viet script it latin alphabet doesnt mean it easy, it actually doesnt pronounce how it spell

  • @GuardianDemonX as i told you. the hardest part in vietnamese is the pronunciation... mandarin and japanese also are tonal like vietnamese. there is no tenses, conjugation in vietnamese... mandarin, too but japanese, it has a lot of tenses or conjugation.

but you need to know when you write one difficult word in vietnamese or mandarin, vietnamese is totally more, more faster.. mandarin has a lot of characters (small, short, big, long). that's why mandarin (chinese language) is also an art.
