One day people will realise the truth, that this song is FAR more brilliant than any of the cheap, trashy ditties put out by chancers like Bob Dylan or John Lennon and that Robin Askwith was and is a vastly superior character actor than Lord Olivier, Robert De Niro or Marlon Brando. Excuse me...I have to go and eat more crayons now
Brilliant stuff! I met Robin once on the island of Gozo, where he lives, and he said Marc Bolan (of T-Rex) persuaded him to make this record (I had a T-Rex t-shirt on at the time!). This TV appearance was in fact on Marc Bolan's show in 1977.
"Doy introduced me to her best friend, a rather stunning fourteen year old model called Lesley-Ann Down. The three of us sped through Richmond Park in a Triumph Herald, roof down, The Cream screaming out 'Sunshine of your Love' on the 8-track"
-From the book 'The Confessions of Robin Askwith' (The LEGEND that is!)

Marc Bolan died in a car accident in 1977, the same year this song was released. 2 of the greatest disasters to hit the music world that year.
