that was just disrespectful and awful, but this is the current and popular fashion of singing, with all of these squeaks and note changes that detract rather than add to the performance. how and why did we get to this state that we have to make everything sound sappy or twangy? the national anthem reflects a country's majesty and greatness, and should be rendered as such. one example of a proper and respectful rendition is Robert Merrill's, regularly played at Yankee Stadium.

The swooping was incredibly annoying. She has great potential, but her talent needs to be more focused.. the swooping got insane, I couldn't watch the whole thing. Which is a shame because she has a very good voice. She needs to open up and hit the notes! Because she can do it!!
