I like Z Kai a bit. My main issue with Z Kai is some of the voice changes, Bulma, Android 18 and Teen Gohan's voice in the original were 1,000,000,000x better than Kai's voice changes. Other problem was Goku's swearing, Goku doesn't seem like the kind of guy to swear, but I have to say this moment was the perfect moment for Goku to curse. This scene is 20x more epic in Z Kai than the original.

He was five during the fight with Frieza then the one year they waited for Goku to return, then three years before the Androids followed by the battle with Cell. Teen Gohan is 9 or 10 years old. I understand Goku swore in the Manga, but me like many others are used to the original DBZ where Goku was so pure, he refused to swear. However, in DBZK that idea goes out the window and is unusual for many, including myself.

@fifaassassin I think seeing your best friend blow up in front of your eyes would make ANYONE say that. Plus, this is the very first time he turns Super Saiyan meaning he's full of anger and rage. Did you even WATCH the original? Super Saiyan is activated by a great need and an explosion of fury. Remember when Gohan turned SSJ2? He was a a Full-Powered SSJ who had learned to control his power and his anger, but once he transformed against Cell he became cocky and arrogant. IMO Sean did awesome.

As such, whether Goku actually cussed as much as the subs made it seem like is a subject hot for debate.

Well, they make an edited version of Kai for TV and an uncut version of Kai for DVD and Blu-Ray, if that's what you mean. The TV version is edited both visually and in terms of dialogue, but the DVD/Blu-Ray version has both uncut dialogue (swearing, references to death, etc.) and uncut visuals (blood, overly violent shots, etc.).
