  • Can't you see he's the man, let me hear you applaud

he is more than a man he's a shiny golden god!!!! xD

  • Scores are written in the language of music and interpretation. Tabs are written solely for stringed instruments, for lazy musicians.

  • You play really good, in my opinion.

I'm also practicing it at the moment and

I think your speed is also okay. (:

I prefer this version. It's better than playing it too fast.

  • Excellent job! keep up the good work..nice visual set up too (a real musician ;)

  • this must be so hard since its 2 melodies at the same time

  • @xxmanuelvaldesxx its not as hard as you think, if u finger pick it u should be fine, im trying to tackle this song as well unfortunately I barely got the intro down cause i never picked classical style.

  • I insist in my point of view. A good score includes all the neccesary information to play a song. Learn to read standard notation is not hard. You can learn by yourself, you doont need a teacher, a good book is enought

  • well if you`ve been playing this song a million times,i advise you to play it 10 trillion times and after that you will improve

  • I wish I was a real musician then, because I can't read scores.

  • Está bueno :D.

  • i think its to slow. its more of a dance music so you have to play it faster

  • Amazing.. :)

  • hey thanks for the video, i'm slowly learning by watching and hearing you

  • Try to keep your thump and arm in a more locked position, that will make it easier to switch fingers faster. Well played :)

  • @leratluci

theres no simple way dude u play it good but just repeat it and thats how i got better at that song

  • people like it fast because of tenacious d's classico

  • I learned this song too!

  • Speed? WTF!!! This is about the right speed. Most people just want to play it fast and a lot of classical players just like playing it fast but its not suppose to be. So I like the version and its speed. Its tasteful without sounding rushed.

  • @artistfood Right speed ,mostly used by luthists,,,,,but at that speed he should at least try to include most of the trills that are difficult and somewhat useless at higher speeds,,,right?

  • Well played!

    5/5

  • ive been practicing for 4 weeks and i can play up to :52 seconds lol-*

  • no no no nothing to do with old js bach sincerely may sound like a melodic theme but poor bach mmm jejeje screwed but still forward

    Sugiere una traducción mejor

  • Awesome!

A good way to work on speed (for me at least) is to make your right hand the boss!

Basically, keep the tempo with your right hand and force your left hand to keep up with it.

it takes a while but eventually youll get faster :D

  • Nice job. I'm learning this piece, too. You do a good job on the last few measures, which are a bit harder.

  • Nice effort. The thing I like about Bach is his contrapuntal melodies like there is a bass riff and a lead riff. Almost like the father of rock and roll. But remember that Bach was a devout Christian and that's what his music was really about. Peace.

  • his music is about bach being a genius composer

  • a slower version but a very good one all the same!!! congrat!

  • its really gewd but if yhu want advice for your left hand then you should know that yhur thumb should always be on the in the middle of the back of the fretboard. it shouldnt be seen from the front. other than that it was really good

  • It's a preference. His thumb doesn't have to be on the back. It's all about comfort while playing.

  • Ahhh i'm learning it too! I'm playing until 0:35 xD

Pretty good mate, keep the good work!

  • very nice job! Classical is the toughest guitar to learn, and you sir, have succeded!

  • Thnx wery much. Nice...

  • Nice job, keep going on! :)

@CaptCatBunny: consider that not everyone can play music after hearing it! What is more, how can anyone play music without rules? There's no way to do so...

  • hey, do u have the guitar tuned to Em for this song? ive been messing with it a little bit...

  • and open tunings help! - see John renbourn and almost every folk picker out there!

  • Waaaaaaaaaiiiit a minute.. Learn the music, yeah.. and we can all hear where this guy is relying on finger positions and ears, but you don't need to learn the music by sight.. If your soul is in it, (which you can learn), then reading music is actually restrictive.. Let music live, but you don't have to do it by sight.. As long as you feel it... otherwise we'd be stuck in a hole created by written pieces.. Interpretation is what keeps music relevant and exciting!!

  • if you know which note is the root note in those 2 note chords you are playing just pick that note a great tip for all the flatpickers out there

  • not bad)) how long have you been practising that?)

  • Nice, practically flawless... but where are the ornaments? :)

  • Not one mistake.

  • Very good editing and playing. Try to go faster, check my version of this song (yours is better ..very nice recording..must be a good mic)

    Joe

  • Right on LDG....Being a pro myself, get off your ass and learn to read is right. Fuck tabs, tabs are like organized religion, a crutch for the weakminded. I have actually had students show up for thier first lesson with colored stickers all over the fingerboard. Can you fucking believe that shit. The assholes that start this tab and sticker shit should be hung with piano wire at dawn from a lamp post. Get some lessons, learn to read a little, and get to fucking work. Great playing!

  • you guys are a bunch of sissys. you do not play classical music of this caliber by using "tabs". Learn to read real music if you want to play this on guitar dont rely on some stupid invention called tabs that is made for the slackers who do not wish to learn true music but just want to know where to put ur fingers. So go and get urself a guitar teacher and learn to read and play REAL classical music. By the way the man in this video has good positioning and style. PRAISE JESUS!!!!

  • its better to learn from reading music.

otherwise you have to find tabs for everything. its so much easier to find sheet music.

  • besides for tab you need to hear the song first...

  • Yes but as you know, you can play the same note in various different poisitions on the fret board. It's all good saying it's better to learn from sheet music, but you then have to figure out where the tune is being played, as well as the technique involved. For piano i dont have that problem, but on a guitar i get frustrated very quickly.

  • I'm exactly the same. I can read standard notaion fine, when I'm playing piano. On guitar though...takes me 10 times as long to learn. I opt for tab with the notation aswell above it. i hate all the snooty classical experts turning their noses up at tablature. ALL the music for the lute was written in tab, and they managed fine.

  • Exactly. I do use the music score, but only for reference of the beat length of the note, which tab can't do. Everything else i learn through the tab, it's just a lot quicker.

  • @LDG42695 not everyone can afford a guitar teacher.

  • @LDG42695 Good tabs gives just as much information as sheets. Don't be so judgemental

  • @EivindTM Not really, you can't tell many things just by looking at a tab. Unless you really know the actual notes of your guitar just by looking at the tab, I doubt you'd be able to identify modulations very clearly or know where it's "more appropriate" to lean onto a note unless you thoroughly play the piece. Often, even the best guitar tabs leave out the dynamics which are usually included in notation. Now, I love guitar tabs and all but for classical music, sheet music is a must.

  • @EivindTM, sorry, you are wrong, scores are very superior than tabs, a real musician must read scores

  • @josesuarezegas It really is unfortunate to have such a close minded comment so highly rated. I can read scores and obviously tabs. Tablature is meant to ease the way into learning stringed instruments it's focus is fingering as oppose to notation. Sight reading guitar tabs is a thousand times easier than scores for stringed instruments. It's actualy horrible that there is a bias of wat a "real musician is" when it would be so easy to say, real musicians play by ear.

  • @josesuarezegas lol playing by ear is even better =p

  • i have only one question the tab link you put in the "more info" section... is that the hole song or just a piece, because it seems that what you play is a little more extencive than the one writen on the tab.

  • No, that's the whole thing, they're called 'repeats', learn to use 'em :) Look that up and learn!

Tabs are a great way to get your fingers working through some good songs, but reading sheet music takes it to a new level. I can read for violin just fine, but now I'm trying to transfer over that to the guitar, and have a ways to go (on this song!) Keep it up!

  • Damn good, if you ask me :) But the best is that you put the link to tabs here :) Thanks a lot :)

  • i think you playing is really good. just keep practicing to get it feeling more naturl

  • well... speed isnt the whole think, that's important. Your problem is the position of your left hand (turn it a little to the right side from your view), then your fingers are pretty scatter (your fingers should do less movements) and all above you must train it with your metronome, so you will be able to hear better the downbeats. But.. its ok i think ;))

  • I'll say "what ghonik said", except the metronome part. I find most people who play this for practice are to metronomic. Feel free to play with the tempo and give it some feeling!

  • well.. metronome isn't everythink, but it's Bach so it's supposed to be quit metronomic. And there is one more thing you can do to improve this excellent composition- try to play the basses and upper link separately and try to focus on these links still, if you play it together :)) whole think I guess

  • what the hell's yer problem?

  • Hey, MORONS! It's BWV, not BMV! It means Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis (Bach Works Catalogue)!!!!

  • "BWV. Abbr. for Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis, the short title of Wolfgang Schmieder's Thematisch-systematishes Verzeichnis der musikalishen Werke von Johann Sebastian Bach: Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis (Leipzig: Breitkopf & Härtel, 1950; 3rd ed., 1961), a thematic catalog of the works of J.S. Bach." --The New Harvard Dictionary of Music (Cambridge: Belknap Press of Harvard University Press 1969, 1986)

  • Check it out for yourself. I cited my source. Where's your source?

  • I think he's just trying to bug you, lol.

  • seems like it lol, everyone knows it's bwv :P

  • Lol.

  • amazing, im learning this as i type

using ur video as a reference

  • shit its really hard i learned the intro but i have to learn all of it for my exam ;/

    your blessed man perfect :P

  • respect... i know this song 2, my exam piece.

    PEace

    xNoC

  • great job

  • Amazing job my friend. Keep it up!

  • That was amazing...the only advice I could give would be to kind of loosen your fingers they seem a little a stiff.

  • hey great job, you did it just about perfectly. I can only play the first part and even doing that im all lurching around with my left hand. You play it very smoothly and clean. Absolutly a 5 star. I don't know why you have only one comment and three ratings, this really is good.

  • it must be really hard...

    beautiful
