Jason Mraz and John Mayer are two very talented musicians. Both of them have made songs w/ great musical value and popularity(although charts and sales arent everything). And theres no denying that JM and JM have at least a somewhat similar sound. They both are adult contemporary artists if nothing more. Mayer seems to have eclisped Mraz's talent in guitar playing while I believe Mraz is the more talented vocalist. Mayer's made more hits but Mraz's biggest hit is bigger than any Mayer song.

I used to diss Jason Mraz a lot because that song "I'm Yours" is SO overplayed. But I had listen to his other works that should have been played on the radio, so I take back all the bad things I said about him. I love John Mayer more because his lyrics are interesting and his guitar skills are good. Jason has a good taste in a variety of music though. But whatever, both Jason and John have their own style and we all should not argue about these talented men, unlike other talentless musicians.

Ok here's the deal. Jason Mraz is a different kind of a vocal talent than Mayer. Mraz has much more of a range and a ridiculous accuracy that no other current singer can match. I would say that they're about equal in songwriting ability. And I would say that obviously at this point John Mayer is a better guitar player. But he's been playing a lot longer. And Mraz is more of a vocalist anyways, which I would say is obvious. Either way though, they're both great musicians, whom are both good live.

I think they're styles are completely different. Mraz is tenor. Mayer is bari. Mayer writes more guitar-centered songs that are always tinged with a hint of gloom. Mraz seems to write much more upbeat songs and focuses more on the song in general. Yes, they both are amazing.
