plants voice in zeppelin1 and 2 is so fucking awesome, just pure raw blues. as zeppelin went on i think he lost his voice or something in '71 and he never regained that rawness , don't get me wrong hes still fuckin awesome just these earlier days were the best for his voice
@persbol I believe it was on tour in Japan in '72 when Plant started losing his voice. Not too long after they recorded the songs for Houses of the Holy.
@TheSubstituteGnome Robert got nodules on his vocal chords. then in 1974 or 75 he had them removed. it is common after have nodules removed that a sing will not be the same. that's why many singers don't bother having them removed.
@TheSubstituteGnome Yeah i would agree, But around 77+ he started to find his voice again and proves in achilles last stand 1979. Led Zepplein Rocks!
Bands now days have lost what making music is all about. Realize first your an artist. Then give up your ego and work hard at putting something down that you would be proud to show off. Takes discipline and practice. Your only as strong as your weakest link. Here, there are no weak links.
Rock matured with Zeppelins first two albums. Here we see the final conclusion of rock. Everything since, with the exeption of some live Deep Purple recordings (the Mandrake Root- renditions in particular) from '70, some of The Floyd up to and including Meddle, and some Can recordings up to '72 and Ege Bamiasy, is derivative.
I used to have this on VHS in the early 90s. Now it's one of the extras on my 5 hr+ Live Zep DVD. I still say this Danish tv performance is the sickest Zeppelin I've ever heard/seen.
Starting at 1:10, JPJ's bass sounds absolutely ferocious!!!! That is one lucky audience to witness a band in the very early stages of becoming legendary.
This is my all time favorite version of this, and I've heard probably 150 different performances from Zep. The bass run Jonesy begins at 1:03 is to die for....
LOL at 2:55 i think they missed when they were supposed to come in. Also whats Robert saying at 3:25 when we pulls the mic away? Almost sounds like "bitch" at the end
@SiKxBlAzEr Thats why i love them so much "Oh wait we made a mistake fuck it i'll just put this piece of epic right here and later add a drop of awesome and it will be all good"
I swear these guys could just improve all night at a concert and it would be epic
Early Zeppelin video records most valuable. 1969 is this one of first records band? Or there is 1968 band video.
